According to a report from Next-Gen.biz, despite what Hideo Kojima has said in the past, Konami believe he’ll be involved in many MGS projects to come after the upcoming MGS4. Here’s what Anthony Crouts, Marketing VP of Konami had to say in a phone interview:
“I’m sure he’s never going to let go of Metal Gear Solid — trust me. [Snake’s] a big character, so as a franchise I think he’ll always hold it near and dear to his heart.”
“In one capacity or another, he will always be involved in the Metal Gear franchise.”
Kojima has previously said he would be stopping work on MGS, saying that his last game would be Metal Gear Solid 3 back in 2004. He has said that MGS4 will be the last in the series – however they will “continue to evaluate” ways to keep it going.

Not complaining! Trying to make a Metal Gear game without Kojima is like Trying to bake a cake without flour -
It’ll still work but it won’t taste that great.

“Kojima has previously said he would be stopping work on MGS ” it’s called MARKETING lads.
by the way another good news is UNREAL TOURNAMENT III for PS3 is delayed until 2008 LOL
(so these bastards will probably be able to make a 360 & PS3 simultaneous release…)

If he’s not incharge of the next game, then his protoge or assistant will be. I’m sure Hideos ideas will still seep through into the future games.

He has said MGS2, 3 and 4 were all his ‘last games’.
I just ignore him when he says it now.
What I’d suggest is to let go of the current MGS characters and plotlines, and go with entirely new characters and plot (call it Metal Gear ‘Something’). This means he can be as creative as he likes with his mad storylines, and we still get some of that Tactical Espionage Action
!

I think it means he will advise them.

Hehe, Konami desperately NEEDS to have the Metal Gear Solid series going on and on… that’s why they need Kojima at least as an advisor.
