Here’s some new screenshots of the mysterious and ground-breaking Playstation Eye title Eye of Judgment. Joystiq have an interesting hands-on experience with the game and the Eye, including lots of pictures which can be found here. Hopefully, we’ll have our own hands-on coming soon…

Definitely a game I’ll be getting. Already started building my deck - first card free with latest issue of “PLAY” (only 29 more to go).

ive never played a game like this before…im looking forward to getting frustrated by this in the near future

Why the hell does the PAL version cost 2 times what he US version costs? $170 (NZ) where the US is only $80 (NZ)

why can’t we have something that us eyetoy users can use? i mean the thing works happily enough on the ps3. even an option to take a snapshot from the camera test screen would be something.
nice that the inbuilt mic can double-up as a headset mic during warhawk etc.
this game looks the tits though, but trading card games are a bit sad if your’e over school leaving age.
oh, and while i’m here, thank u SCEE for the 100 years war demo. that rocks hard!!!

The previous Eye Toy will work but the newer one, the Playstation Eye, is supposed to feature auto-focus and enhanced picture quality. I’m pretty sure there was more to it but I’m not 100% sure…

Tempted to import the US version as it’s so much cheaper. Anyone know for certain if the cards will work across regions? At the current GBP/USD exchange rate you can get it for like £30 + import costs. Would end up significantly lower than the £60 you pay here.
Definitely buying this one regardless. There is no spell in the imaginary world that can’t be cast to prevent me from getting it.

@6/7 i have a couple of the last black eyetoys they made with focus and in built mic, and the picture is pretty damn good on the ps3.
just seems a shame it sits there little blue led glowing wishing for an app apart from video chat. the ’snapshot’ option would be soo simple to program into a firmware update i’m surprised they haven’t done it. i mean you have the pan/zoom/trim options already for photos.
it’s not just me is it?
i am tempted to buy this on import too just to get the camera, it has a pretty nice multi mic set-up and noise reduction, sounds nice. i refuse to pay ripoff britain prices!! i mean we are the most expensive place on the planet for ps3 hardware and games!
but the game, yeah, i have a couple of mates that do the whole trading card thing and they’re creaming themselves over this.
i just wonder about the options for scanning in others cards and printing them out yourself to save paying for more packs. i can’t see why it couldn’t be done, you could even make custom cards so long as they have the identifiers on the top and bottom so the ps3 knows what they are.

i had no intentions of getting this game (card games are pretty lame) but..after seeing these screens im very bloody tempted!
moreover…does the eyetoy come on its own?? or just bundled now, then released a bit after to improve sales??
Comment by seedaripper1973 — Oct 6, 2007 @ 1:06 pm
@ Seedaripper - I know there is definitley a bundle with Eye of Judgement… I think I read as well that they’ll be selling it on its own, because there are individual games for it planned for the PS Store.
Comment by Tom Eccles — Oct 6, 2007 @ 11:26 pm
@Zetsurin
No, the US and the UK use different screen ratios. Games or demos from the US won’t work in the UK and vice versa.
Unfortunately. Also, US owners can import JPN games, but US games are region-coded. Go figure.
Comment by Kit — Oct 7, 2007 @ 9:50 am
@ Kit - the screen ratios are only a problem if you’re using a standard definition set (480 lines in the US vs 576 lines in PAL) but with high definition the resolutions are the same worldwide.
Also, all PS3 games are region free, so you can import one from anywhere and it will work as long as you’re using a HDTV.
Comment by Tom Eccles — Oct 7, 2007 @ 12:07 pm
@kit - what TomEccles said. i have several US and JAP games on my ps3 and they work just fine, even my SD-TV runs ntsc 60Hz mode but with HD it doesn’t matter as you can run everything at 720 or 1080, my hd does the 480 and 576 too so i’m kinda lucky.
the only region locked game i have found so far was defjam-icon.
so get your facts right before making a comment in the future plz.
Comment by mobiletone — Oct 7, 2007 @ 12:20 pm
yeah bloody defjam icon…i could never get that bugger to work..ah well, guess thats why i never bought the game! (coupled with the bad reviews)
;)
@tom…in all honesty it would make sense to offer it on its tod…i just think that it would be available AFTER eye of judgment is released, to maximise sales…
Comment by seedaripper1973 — Oct 7, 2007 @ 3:59 pm
I hope you guys know that you spelled Judgment wrong. It only has one “e” in it, as explained on the Eye of Judgment entry on the Playstation Blog.
Comment by Dehshizknight — Oct 7, 2007 @ 6:57 pm
@Dehshizknight - Sorry about that. All present and correct now.
Comment by Three Speech — Oct 8, 2007 @ 11:25 am
Hi all, Just one question. Will the servers be global? I mean can a european player play against a player from Asia or NA or are they region specific?
