Would be nice if it’s true.
This game is Unreal engine based, so will benefit from the major optmisation work that’s been going on for PS3 Cell/RSX.
It’s likely not to suffer from the widescreen issues that the other versions suffer from.

I’d heard that someone had found a config file in the PC version which hinted at PS3 settings in a “console” section.
All rumour and conjecture of course, you must understand.
but then that’s what the internet is fuelled on.

So, Three Speech, considering you “speak with Sony”, why not actually get us an answer?
Comment by Benny — Aug 24, 2007 @ 10:51 am
Well, actually the kind of “code” you can find in every game based on Unreal Engine 3 (it’s in the UE3 dev-kit) so, making assumptions relying on this is just utter crap.
Yes, it’ll be simple to port BioShock to PS3 ‘bcoz the engine simplifies that, but… no. Until i’ve not heard a trustworthy annonucement from the publisher i won’t be expecting Bioshock on the PS3.
As simple as that
Comment by arabek — Aug 24, 2007 @ 10:57 am
@3 We’ve asked. They’ve nothing at all to say.
Comment by Three Speech — Aug 24, 2007 @ 10:58 am
I would love becuse my PC can’t play the Bioshock demo because my ATI X850 card don’t have pixel shader 3.0.
But my PS3 sitting there and waiting for Bioshock
Comment by ErMurazor — Aug 24, 2007 @ 10:58 am
Whilst I am not against the extra optimisation time that delaying a release of any game can give, It does worry me at times when games for ps3 experience 3/4 months delay in optimisations for release having been out on rival consoles.
By the time the game is released the incentive to buy it for a large percentage of gamers has diminished as they have opted for the PC or other format versions.
Just a thought though
Comment by JohnSketch — Aug 24, 2007 @ 11:04 am
Bioshock looks good, but as a future trend PS3 needs to get its butt in gear with multiplatform releases, it sucks that we have to wait like this. Heres hoping it comes over.
Comment by Terry — Aug 24, 2007 @ 11:23 am
yeah i remember something along those words of people saying metal gear solid 4 was happening for 360
i personally hope it doesnt happen, same with mgs4 for 360,as i already have bioshcok and i want different games for the ps3….when i get mgs4 i will want different games for the 360
Comment by metallicorphan — Aug 24, 2007 @ 11:29 am
Its not surprising at all, i dont really see why it couldn’t happen

To 12, yeah also agree theres a nice tone on this blog, some smart threads and some funny stuff in there… shame you can’t do events all over the uk tho
Comment by Belfast Steps — Aug 24, 2007 @ 12:56 pm
ah come on. we’ll definately get it at some point but microsoft obviously had some kind of “Keep-quiet-about-it” clause in the exclusivity agreement.
there are people out there who, with the release of bioshock, may buy an xb360 whilst still owning a ps3.
if they knew that bioshock was coming the way of their first choice console they may not bother.
Comment by d33p — Aug 24, 2007 @ 1:38 pm
SONY put your hand in your pocket and start to buy some exclusives . Instead of Microsoft snapping them all up !
Comment by nikrad — Aug 24, 2007 @ 1:47 pm
So the big “ONLY ON XBOX 360 AND WINDOWS” stamp on the top of the game means nothing?
Comment by Caleb — Aug 24, 2007 @ 2:00 pm
IT IS NOT UNREAL ENGINE 3.
that is all
Comment by allen — Aug 24, 2007 @ 4:12 pm
Ken Levine, lead designer for BioShock said this in an interview with Joystiq.com, “I promise you, there is no secret plan about the PS3 that we’re keeping from people. There’s no PS3 development going on that we’re hiding. There’s lots of stuff that gets into game code, plans change over time and we got an exclusive deal with Microsoft … that’s not a Rosetta Stone discovery.”
I guess there goes the hope of Bioshock on PS3.
Comment by mike — Aug 24, 2007 @ 7:39 pm

stamps rarely mean anything…
plus it’s unreal it would be financially stupid not to be on all platforms..

@19 well, you’re obviously wrong

and

BioShock is 100% Unreal Engine game.

Not going to happen, unfortunately. Play it on your PC.
Comment by Michael — Aug 24, 2007 @ 10:00 pm
@25 - that’s interesting. So I wonder why Sony didn’t give three speech a straight answer about it.
Comment by reakt — Aug 25, 2007 @ 3:13 am
@26 - well do you really want to tell the world that a game with so much hype and insane reviews is not coming to your platform? It’s better to keep them guess than to come out and say “this game is not coming to the PS3.”
Money talks, Sony should really start considering buying exclusives. All that talk about “we to buy exclusives” is just PR. Us gamers want GOOD games and we don’t really care how you get them to us. Buy, kill, steal or whatever just get them to us.
Comment by sackBoi — Aug 25, 2007 @ 7:23 am
I hope it does. Games this good should be shared. Judging only from the demo, Bioshock seems to be quite the experience. Personally, I use PC for gaming and have found that - largely due to the efforts of the “Games for Windows” platform - many great games are on and coming to PC such as Gears of War, Assassin’s Creed, Crysis, BioShock, Far Cry 2, Stranglehold, Halo 2, Company of Heroes, Alan Wake, and others. I mean, that’s an extremely powerful lineup. Developers have even stated that some of those titles - such as Crysis, Far Car 2, and Alan Wake - are all PC exclusives. But that’s the plus side. The down side is that to play those games you’ll need a pretty pimped out PC… To the point that Alan wake is said to require a quad core processor, even in its current, unpolished stage.

Heh heh
Ps3 will get a 360/PC game… rare for PS3 not to have an Xbox game isn’t it? syco out PCess3 ftw
Comment by sycodude — Aug 28, 2007 @ 12:31 am
