CVG have confirmed that the Overlord series, which was previously only on 360 and PC, will be seeing a PS3 release this summer as Overlord: Raising Hell.
Overlord is a third person action game that was originally developed by Triumph Studios and then published by Codemasters. The game is set in a fantasy world, with the player taking on the role of a recently resurrected warrior who has control over hordes of minions. In order to establish his lordship over the world’s inhabitants, the warrior must destroy the seven corrupt ruling heroes.
The PS3 version will include all the content from the original release, plus all the downloadable content that has been released on one Blu-ray disc. Check out the trailer for the expansion pack “Raising Hell” which will be included with the PS3 version here.
The press seemed to like the PC version of the game with Cheat Code Central scoring the game 4.5/5, Ace Gamez and Play Magazine scoring the game 9/10 and PC Gamer giving the game 91/100. For more reviews head over to Game Rankings.

“The PS3 version will include all the content from the original release, plus all the downloadable content that has been released on one Blu-ray disc”
So, it’s another game released late for the PS3 - that’s why it’s getting ALL the content - and is a good ‘test bed’ for the developer to get into writing PS3 games and making some extra money while they’re at it.

Does anyone know if they are using their own engine which was PC/Xbox 360 to do the port or are they making use of Sony’s PhyreEngine for the port? If using the latter there may be hope, depending on how quickly they are planning to knock it out.

It’s quite an amusingly written game. It’s just not much fun, that’s the problem.

Another day another port.
Honestly Sony, someone needs to give your first party developers a short, sharp shock and snap them out of their malaise. The bone idle, lazy gits.
And when they do eventually bring something worth playing out can they make it that you are required to do more than alternately bash two buttons, and also make it have over 10 hours of gameplay.

Oh Great! more Codemasters Bilge! (got burned with jericho- ouch) Why bother porting a year old 360 turkey that no one likes to PS3??? First the appalling Lost Planet now this!!! What is it port-a-flop week?
Oh my god its lucky that METAL GEAR SOLID 4 has just been given a definite June release date!!!!!!!!!!

A little harsh considering Overlord is from a THIRD PARTY developer. Sony’s first party titles are some of the best the PS3 has to offer:
Motorstorm, Warhawk, RFOM and Eye of Judgment off the top of my head.

Exactly my point.
Where are the first party games?

You mean Little Big Planet, KillZone2, GT5 Prologue, Pain, Wipeout HD, Home, Echochrome to name a few…
Hell GT5 Prologue is due out in a month and pain is due at the end of February. But yes you carry on believing, Sony has no games lined up for the PS3 soon.

Oh! they have been released then have they?
No, I didn’t think so.

Little Big Planet - interesting
Killzone2 - Shock, horror another FPS
GT5 Prologue - Extorionate preview of a game not to be released for ages
Pain - Overdue, lost interest as have most people who have bought it.
Wipeout HD - Graphical upgrade of a dated concept
Home - 2nd Life which I am not intersted in
Echochrome - Extorionate version of a free PC game.

@14 I gave you a decent list of decent first party titles that are already on the system, but all I got was “Where are the first party games?” I assumed you meant first party titles that are coming in the coming months.
Anyway from the list I’ve provided I’m hyped for them all. If you really hate the games that much sell the system, and stop trolling these boards.
Good day to you sir

I cannot accept a net loss so find me a buyer for £425 and it’s your’s/their’s and this board will never hear from me again.
If not then you’ll just have to put up with my opinions or ignore them completely if they enrage you so.
I bid you adieu.

Brilliant news, I like it how every 360 fanboy says how they get it faster, and that it’s crap on ps3 because it comes out later, but we get all the bonus features and an expansion pack, and all on one disc too. I was going to buy this game on my 360, but it will be a lot better on PS3 with all the added content.
