Or you could just pick up the demo from the U.S. store
Looking forward to this one though!

I see Threespeech operates well in to the night. Well done sir, well done.
Im downloading the demo now, the UK store update isn’t that bad!!
Comment by E-ROLE — Dec 13, 2007 @ 10:32 pm
This is truely a monumental day, Europe actually gets a demo the same day as the US store, not the usual months later…
Still waiting for Pain however, and loads of other missing stuff…
Sony promised changes earlier this year, as as yet, that promise is badly broken, as is the European store…
I’m now convinced that Sony is trying a social experient with European PS3 owners, to see how much crap they actually take…
Comment by Mark Gillespie — Dec 13, 2007 @ 10:51 pm
Witness how Mark manages to snatch negativity from the jaws of positivity!

Good update this week. Burnout demo is wicked fun.

@3: Actually, not Europe, but only the UK got a demo the same day as the US: Burnout Paradise isn’t on any of the other European stores…

“Actually, not Europe, but only the UK got a demo the same day as the US: Burnout Paradise isn’t on any of the other European stores… ”
wow, really? could this be the beginning of a more synchronous relationship between the US and UK stores?
Comment by d33p — Dec 14, 2007 @ 8:35 am
@d33p - Noooo, it’s like Bush and Blair all over again!
Comment by Tim — Dec 14, 2007 @ 8:48 am
@ Telly :
Perhaps Mark is disappointed by the broken Sony promises?
Perhaps he’d like to make more use of his £425 console?
Perhaps he feels somewhat disappointed with how Sony ALWAYS treats UK/Euro gamers?
Perhaps you’ve got other consoles to keep you busy?
Perhaps you like wasting your money?
Perhaps you’re a ‘casual’ gamer?
Perhaps you don’t feel as deeply as some of us do about the despicable treatment by Sony?
Perhaps you’re shallow and don’t fight for your rights/what you think is right/show solidarity/not passionate about anything much/can’t make a convincing argument so you choose sarcasm instead?
etc.

@ #7:
Ehm, well Burnout is on my store aswell.. And i sure as hell doesnt live in the UK (?)
Comment by rBerggren — Dec 14, 2007 @ 10:27 am
I don’t understand what this issue is with the ps store all the time…..go out, see your friends, have a relaxing game of kick the tin…..free your minds people.
Comment by Pinkytheloon — Dec 14, 2007 @ 10:27 am
I’ll tell you the issue with the store.
Sony talked it up (also mentioning that it was free) in order to hawk us over priced consoles, which even now has very few decent, long lasting games.
The store is supposed to provide us with demos etc, all we mostly get are ridiculous themes and videos of games which have been out for weeks if not months and the occasional over priced add ons which should have been in the original games.
Any demos we do get are way behind the US (a country much less loyal to Sony PS brand than UK/EU), you are advised to illegally set up a US account which even then doesn’t let you buy the online games which the US recieve before us too.
To top it all off, the “next gen” Singstar paraded as an online extravaganza has totally unstable servers which 95% of the time are inaccessible.
The weekly update also serves as a vent for people pissed off with all these points, that is the issue.
Comment by Ton Capone — Dec 14, 2007 @ 10:46 am
Great demo, got it last night, and thank god for that, concidering that the norwegian store hasn’t been updated for three weeks. Yes, I whined a bit, but I love Burnout so concider myself excused.
Comment by Baj — Dec 14, 2007 @ 10:51 am
Burnout sounds great.I can’t wait to open up my PS3. I’ve owned it for 4 weeks now, but can’t touch it until Santa shows up. Damn kids and their imaginative beliefs.
Has anyone played the Conan demo which is supposed to be available in the UK? I heard the game was soiled underwear ( worse than pants?? ).
Comment by Savage — Dec 14, 2007 @ 11:06 am
@Ton Capone: Well if the weekly updates where the venting point that would be fine. But there is essentially 2-3 people, yourself included, who posts complaining about this for every story posted. Which as you might image is starting to get rather tired for the rest of us.
Personally I would love for you to get that official explanation you been clamoring for just in the off chance that it will shut you up. Unfortunately I am pretty sure any announcement made will not be ‘good enough’ for you because it will not be ‘from tomorrow you will get everything at the exact same time as the US’ and thus it will only lead onto further weeks and Months of complaints.
I mean would I love to get Unreal Tournament (US) or Gran Tourismo Prologoue (Japan) before Christmas here in Europe? Sure I would. Do I, like you, feel my life lies in ruins because I don’t? No I don’t. And fortunately I am sure my feelings on the subject is more in line with the general world population than yours.
So today I will be enjoying playing a bit with my new Burnout Paradise demo, instead of sitting around with a dark cloud over my head feeling mistreated because I can’t play Super Puzzle Figther or some other random stuff. And just so its said, if the Burnout Paradise demo had been delayed for some weeks I wouldn’t really mind, its not like I can buy the game before next year anyway.
Comment by Christian — Dec 14, 2007 @ 11:49 am
Apparently, according to the BurnOut demo - my router isn’t correctly configured as I couldn’t connect to all the other players. Seeing how my router is correctly configured for every PS3/PS2/PC game I’ve tried so far - one assumes that; a) Everybody elses router is also incorrectly configured or b) EAs match making servers are crap.
Feel free to buy the full game and beta test it for them - ‘cos I can’t be bothered.
Prehaps Mr Stringer should buy it and try and play it before he starts shooting his gob-off about how the PSN is the centre of the Sony universe when they can’t even get the basics to work…
Sony PSN: shite.like.no.other.
Comment by Blue Gene — Dec 14, 2007 @ 11:56 am
Well said Christian
Comment by Yazeed — Dec 14, 2007 @ 12:15 pm
Just tell me in what way is the Singstar debacle acceptable?
It’s not, the whole network is an unholy arse.
How many answers have we had? Zero.
I’ve spent good money on this console and I will not be ripped off or treated like some troublesome schoolboy by Sony or anyone who stands idley by while they scam anymore money out of us.
I am doing this for all concerned not just myself.
Comment by Ton Capone — Dec 14, 2007 @ 12:38 pm
@ ton capone
I realise that some of you are a little dissapointed with sony but after posting the same damn complaints on this site every day and getting nowhere don’t you think its time to put your energy into something else…its just so boring….yes the States are ahead of us, I can’t remember a time that this hasn’t been the case…just get over it.
Comment by Pinkytheloon — Dec 14, 2007 @ 12:46 pm
Whatever mate,
You just content yourself with letting a board of corporate billionaire pigs dip your pockets for little or no return.
Singstargate is just one of many disgusting examples of SCEE’s lack of concern for it’s customers. These people obviously have no professional pride in their work.
Aboslutely shameful.
Comment by Ton Capone — Dec 14, 2007 @ 1:04 pm
Do you feel this way about all products/services or just gaming?
Comment by Rukusa — Dec 14, 2007 @ 1:09 pm
Practically all services, because sadly most services are sub standard.
I’ve absolutely roasted Virgin Media cable company a goo few times too, aswell as Parcelforce.
Comment by Ton Capone — Dec 14, 2007 @ 1:38 pm
@Ton Capone
Im sure Sony, Virgin and parcelforce are shaking!!!.
I’m only joking, I just don’t feel hard done by I chose to buy the console at launch, I did my research and knew the risks. It’s a new system projects will over run, games will be delayed and yes both Japan and the US will get things first ( but what has changed here this has always been the way in the Gaming world).
Anyway played burnout for 5 minutes before work this morning and it looks awesome….roll on Jan!!!!
Comment by Pinkytheloon — Dec 14, 2007 @ 2:21 pm
@19Ton Capone: I have no idea what the Singstar debacle is about as I don’t care about SIngstar. But if I understood your earlier post correctly it has online capacity issues. Which I agree suck. That said the precedent for underestimating the scaling of server side capacity is big. Having played games which got such loving nicknames as Anarchy offline and World of unable-to-log-in-craft in their early days I can understand your pain. Warhawk also suffered quite badly from such issues. That said Sony moved to fix the Warhawk servers quickly and hopefully they do the same for Singstar.
Comment by Christian — Dec 14, 2007 @ 2:27 pm
Funny you should mention it but I originally bought my PS3 from Amazon which didn’t arrive on time (from Parcelforce) and a big fiasco ensued.
To cut a long story short I ended up giving Amazon the PS3 back and buying it from a shop.
The outcome was a grovelling apology from Amazon and £30 credit, which once used I closed my account.
Then shortly afterwards Parcelforce lost the contract to deliver parcels up to a certain value (can’t remember the value) from Amazon.
So you see people power does work, that was me on my own, imagine the issues and improvements we could force if we all worked together.
Solidarity Brothers and Sisters.

Power to the people indeed!

Sorry I’ll stop now we’re getting way off topic.
Comment by Pinkytheloon — Dec 14, 2007 @ 2:40 pm
EA destroyed Burnout by changing it into Need for Speed. RIP Burnout.
Comment by Harl — Dec 14, 2007 @ 3:34 pm
burnout online…. yes, well, that worked well didn’t it, all the other drivers i came across last night were just content to play silly buggers driving into each other and not doing much else.
left me open to be the best in all the stats i guess.
nice to see the eyetoy works with it, and i don’t have to buy a new eye for the in-game gurning etc.
one problem is that wiping out is seriously too easy to happen, no traffic rampage in this puppy!
kinda agree with 29 Harl there. it looks nice but i’m not sure if this free roaming business is really Burnout at heart.
