He works for a security firm!! This is a good thing. Teach firms to beef up their security. Is also about 2 days old!

Interesting article, this. Totally over my head in all honesty, but interesting nonetheless.

So, you are saying that you don’t agree with security researchers trying to keep up with what crackers are probably already doing? Active research and full disclosure is the only way to get a decent security climate.
First quantum computing stupidness, and now this. You should really brush up on your general computing knowledge.

all good publicity.
just another piece in the tapestry that makes up the fact that the cell is crazy-powerful.

Err….. does that mean you guys are cracking all my passwords while i type here!??
(O_O)

What if someone hacked Folding@Home? 1 PETAFLOPS to crack passwords with. It would take a second or two to crack passwords.

So, they’ve finally found something the cell processor does well, then?
Comment by Gonuts — Nov 30, 2007 @ 2:46 pm
Hmm not good, still publicity of this will make people reliase they need to beef things up, nothing is “100% safe”, and will always be breakable, its important therefore to stay ahead of these geeks.

The CELL is some chip man… this baby can do everything. I’ll make it do my homework, walk the dog, and call my mom.

@komp: no-one will visit your stupid fanboy channel, shut up.

i wish they sort that out, glad i run ubuntu 7.04 as my other OS.

All that raw power and games, like PES2008, still show ‘tearing’ and very little anti-aliasing.
Shameful.
