Nice to see some titles coming out. R&C looks like the pick. I owned Gundamn when I was in Japan earlier in the year and it stank of repetitive gameplay unfortunately. Still, it’s important to see some variety hitting the shelves as until now the range has looked decidedly small.

Ordered R&C, COD4 and Lair this Month,
I have been using my PS3 on at least 4 times a week since launch, i have got:
COD3, Motorstorm, VirtuaTennis3,Ressistance: FOM,Oblivion, Virtual Fighter 5, Heavenly Sword, WarHawk,Teken, Calling all Cars,Formula One CE, GTHD and CB’s jericho.
So i have had at least two good games a month to play.
what more coud you ask for?

whats up with Lair are they adding analogue controls or sticking with 6 axis? Couldnt have been delayed this long with no additions

Pre-ordered R&C and will pick up either CoD4 or Assassin’s Creed later in the month. The games are rolling in now and with firmware 2.0 and all the stuff to come on the PSN I reckon the PS3 is finally starting to flex its muscles

You poor people. Sony has starved you for so long, even chicken feed now sounds great.
I sincerely hope that R&C:F, LAIR and CoD4 do well but I wouldn’t let Sony off the hook just yet…

COD4, I am waiting to see how online is implemented before buying as all 360 ports that have an online feature suck on the PS3 with major lag.
Will get lair when it hits the bargin bin.

Hi,
I’ll get R&C for sure… but as I was tired of waiting for LAIR, I ordered it from the US about 1 month ago.
I really really enjoyed it (in a word: it’s “epic”) BUT:
- The controls are really hard to master, but when you get use to it, it’s very fun (IMO)…
- The main problem with LAIR is the framerate, and you never get used to it… it’s awfull…
Again, I _realy_ liked this game… but it’s not a masterpiece. And I understand the people that don’t like it at all…
However, I hope that there will be a sequel to it… with a better framerate or course, with better control (but I still want the 6axis control), with a longer story and why not a multiplayer mode (coop? deathatch?… would be great IMO)

Ahh Ratchet and Clank and Call of Duty this week then Assassins Creed and Orange Box next week. This is gonna be a busy november. Then Uncharted after that how am i ever gonna complete them all. While still trying to play on warhawk, which is so addictive and that has a Add On in December, i feel my wallet might be a little lighter soon.

@10. Actually, I really liked LAIR. I had read the less-than-stellar reviews about it and decided that I wasn’t going to buy it without renting it first. I was surprised at how much fun it was. The graphics are great and the soundtrack is phenomenal.
The gameplay was really good too. My only issue was the 180 turn, which only worked about 40% of the time for me. There are also a lot of breaks in the action where they go to a cutscene, so it can feel a little disjointed in parts. They give you many training modules to allow you to get the feel of your dragon. I found that after the first few missions, I got pretty proficient, and got bronze/silver medals for most of the missions.
There’s nothing like landing on the ground, setting a company of men ablaze, and then having a meal of soldier flambé to increase your health.

yeah, lair is good. nice to see it getting some comment based love
if you’re curious then ignore the reviews and give it a go. if you do the tutorials you’ll have no problem with the controls and you’ll agree with me that changing the game to analogue sticks would be killing what the game is.
the 180 turn can be annoying, it’s natural to push the controller forward slightly when bringing it up. un-learn that impulse and just jerk it up only and you should be sorted.

LOL, not sure if that’s technically an ‘onslaught’ of games.
COD4, R&C, GTA4, UT3 and Home might have been worthy of such an accolade.

HDFury chip for running the ps3 on none hdcp capable monitors - how much ?
My main issue is finding a reasonable monitor with hdcp compliance for the ps3 - hell of a lotta good monitors out there that can be used for 1080p gaming on the cheap that get passed over for the lack of HDCP!

The series of “WWE Smackdown VS. Raw” games are always pretty to view, but HORRIBLY broken and restrictive.
Also the progression of the series is terrible, with good features being stripped away each year in favour of bad gimmicky ‘additions’.
Still, Smackdown VS. Raw 2008 will sell bucketloads, regardless of quality/improvement, due to the loyal uncritical fanbase of pro-wrestling fans out there. Much like Madden/FIFA/NBA and so on…

Ratchet and Clank at last! Would it be possible as a ’semi-official’ site to have a permanent ’semi-official’ release date page? I’ve been obsessing about R&C so much i’ve no idea what is out when after that! You could even put the firmware 2.0 date on it!

only remains wondering why the EU-store
still doesn’t have Vegas Video poker,since the US has it for months,HK- store got it
no reason for translating PokerCards or Dice.

i got simpsons last friday for the 360,finished it next day……if it wouldnt of lasted for me if it wasnt for the simpsons…EA knew what they were doing
