Interesting story over at Telegraph.co.uk. GCHQ, Government Communications Headquarters, is an intelligence and security organisation and Civil Service Department, which reports to the Foreign Secretary and works closely with the UK’s other intelligence agencies (MI5 and MI6).
GCHQ will embed job adverts within the online multi-player versions of espionage games and hope to attract applicants for high-tech roles including signals intelligence (digital “eavesdropping”), and to protect government information systems from hackers.
“It’s certainly not in the James Bond mould of spy work,” said a spokesperson for GCHQ.

Awwww isn’t that pretty! Dumbing down of standards GCHQ tut tut tut
Next thing they’ll be advertising in The Sun!

If we are to move properly towards an Orwellian reality, we need more “eaves droppers”.
Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated.
I really hope these droppers clean up after themselves and pick up their eaves. I personally don’t want to be stepping on eaves all over the place.

Why don’t the government actually f*ck off?
All this surveillance and trying to get you to spy and tell on your friends and neighbours is exactly what Hitler did with the Hitler Youth.
Does anyone remember when they used to tell you that communism was bad because communist governments spy on their own people and watch them constantly therefore inhbiting their freedom?
People should not be afraind of the government, the government should be afraid of the people!
Who watches the watchers?

Did you write that after tin-foiling your entire house?

Just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean they are NOT out to get you!
I didn’t tinfoil my house as the barcode on every roll of tinfoil is recorded against your switch card. If you buy more than the government approved amount per month they start tapping your phone and accusing you of being a terrorrist.

I thought it would never happen, but I actually agree with Ton Capone. Governments all over the western world are using the fear of terrorism to water down civil liberties like crazy. There need to be a public pushback towards these new policies.

Correct Christian,
Governments are merciless money makers and war mogers whose sole aim is to keep the populous under control and making money for them by trapping you in an economic prison whereby you must spend most of your waking life working to scrape by, thus impacting on your quality of life and relationships.
Do they think to conquer the people?
Law is not stronger than life or man’s desire to be free. They will eventually bow down on front of the risen people who will take what they will not give.

Just to make it clear, I am not ‘anti-government’, I do think a central government has an important role to play. But like everything it needs to be kept it check and balanced out. Unfortunately it seems modern politics to often fall into the trap of thinking that if something works well then ‘doubling it’ works twice as good. Which is why we have had stupid copyright extension laws passed many places, why the patent regime is getting out of control and why in the area of security laws things getting out of proportion.

They also use your personal information and sell it to corporate pigs who use it to psycological profile you so that they can find out your fears, hopes and aspirations and use them against you to better target their advertising and products at you.
