There’s confirmation out there of the PlayStation Eye’s release details – as well as the game Eye of Judgment.
The Eye of Judgment game, bundled with the Eye will be in stores on October 26th for £69.99. People buying this will also have the option to download the EyeCreate software (for video, audio, photo recording and editing) from the PS Store, for free. The standalone Eye, bundled with Eye Create will go on sale on November 7th, for £24.99.
As well as the Eye Create Software, there will also be three Eye compatible games on the Playstation Store from October 25th – Operation Creature Feature, Trials of Topoq and Aqua Vita.

How about a competition to win the Playstation Eye

Would be even cooler if you could manage to get hold of a couple of original concept art pieces from Eye of Judgement as prize goodies

Most places are selling EoJ for ₤59.99

are you sure £69.99 is right?? thats alot
Comment by James — Oct 17, 2007 @ 7:09 pm
It’s quite expensive at more than a third of the price of a new 40gb PS3. Having said that I’ll most likely still get one!
Comment by reakt — Oct 17, 2007 @ 7:50 pm
Sorry I totally misread the announcement. I thought it was 69.99 for the camera (sorry, “eye”) on it’s own. 24.99 is a great price for it - I’ll definitely get one!
Comment by reakt — Oct 17, 2007 @ 7:58 pm
the Eye Create Software is going to be a free software download from the US store next week anyway, whether you buy the EoJ pack or not. and surprise surprise the EoJ bundle is ONLY 34 quid in america!!
getting sick of being ripped off by SCEE
Comment by mobiletone — Oct 17, 2007 @ 8:45 pm
ALSO will the new eye games work with the PS2 eye toy? stop giving us half the information and still expect people to buy the stuff.
Comment by mobiletone — Oct 17, 2007 @ 8:47 pm
@11
This is not SCEE’s fault, thats including VAT. Everything is more expensive here than in the US

Most places sell EoJ for £59.99, also if you were clever enough (or organised enough) to put in an early pre-order on the likes of Game or HMV or Choices, they had it listed for between £32.99 to £39.99, obviously assuming it was just a normal game, even though they’ve corrected their mistake now they’re letting the pre-orderers have it for the lower price!
Comment by Apnomis — Oct 17, 2007 @ 10:45 pm
Absolutely, RRP prices are always huge and the big chains and online retailers will always sell it for at least £10 below the RRP.
Personally I’m not fussed about the Eye peripheral but £24.99 for the camera alone is a pretty decent price.

The price of the EOJ bundle is ridiculous. There are no excuses about Europe having VAT and the higher cost of doing business over here. The US have sales tax too (which is as much as 10% in places like California) and the cost of doing business in the US is clearly not half the cost of doing business in Europe.
Given that America is giving the cold shoulder to Sony and the PS3 and Europe still remains pretty loyal to the Playstation brand we really deserve better than that.

I Agree with 19., We Get Over Priced and Everything Gets Delayed, The Bonus’s we ‘Sometimes’ Get in the games we get later are Not worth waiting a year for.
SCEE get a clue, the sales surge shows that you are still popular over here in Britain, Start Giving a damn about us, or at least give us an abundance of free stuff, and i feel even sorrier for NZ and AUS……I mean we in the UK get screwed but im surprised theyve actually released the Ps3 over there before 08
