We met the guys from Bunnyfoot recently at an expo, and were very impressed with what they are currently working on. They work researching and documenting emotional behaviour during gaming using heatmaps, heart monitors and muscle tension monitors and can basically track every movement your eye makes during a gameplay. The implications are more insight for developers, publishers and advertisers and, in their own words, the ablity to literally ‘get under the skin of the gamer’.
We are looking to interview the guys at Bunnyfoot in the coming weeks but until then take a look at their website as there is some very interesting work going on there.

sounds pretty cool. can’t wait to see it in action

Thats some pretty interesting stuff right there. A future tool for PS3 games would be great.

hmm how about they try putting one of each console up infront of someone hooked up to this machine, then maybe you can find out why when people look at the PS3 and there eyes hover over the price stamp of the box they snort and look elsewhere in embarrassment

It can’t have been a PS3 they were playing on then. All they would detect was abject disappointment.
Can’t we get Phil Harrison on this website, I think that man has a lot of questions to answer and explaining to do, we are still waiting on the response from Sony we were promised, is this also delayed?
Comment by Ton Capone — Sep 21, 2007 @ 7:26 pm
When are we going to get a responce from sony about why our store sucks?

actually marketing and advertising are known as the science of illusion, or how to cheat the neighbour, exploiting weak points of human kind…
hope they’ll use these interesting studies in a wise way.

I agree, advertisers are just con-artists whose jobs the government doesn’t consider illegal because big business runs the government.

“…behavioural behaviour” I beg your pardon? I’m just off to munch on some edible food while monitoring the behavioural behaviour of my dog to see how he behaves.
Anyway, I’d say this looks interesting but I’m more concerned by the lack of any games on the PS3 that I want to buy. As an owner of every console in the previous generation I was happy to let my PS2, Xbox and GC sit next to each other, but I just don’t see the point in owning a PS3 yet.
And while this update looks interesting, it is not going to solve the short term crisis and shift some much-needed consoles and games.

Terry BioShock will NEVER be on the PS3, its a Xbox360 exclusive.
Comment by carl — Sep 24, 2007 @ 3:24 am
… don’t be so sure carl, these days exclusives are not longer so… exclusives (except 1st party title
at the beginning BIOSHOCK has been announced as PC/PS3/Xbox360 game… after no more: only for Windows/Xbox360
but…
even Three Speech recently did a mistake annuncing BIOSHOCK as PS3 title (if I’m not wrong), so who knows the real thing and most important don’t believe what Devs/Pubs/MS/Sony are saying now: they have lost reliability years ago over the altar of money.
and don’t forget that BIOSHOCK uses Unreal3 engine that untill now has been some optimization problems on PS3 (this means more time for development process).
if you want it play it now… or maybe wait, probably during next months we could read some nice announce

ehm… sorry for my bad english:
“and don’t forget that BIOSHOCK uses Unreal3 engine that untill now had some optimization problems on PS3 (this means more time for development process).”
one day or another I will start study “engrish”,
I promise… but… wait… I not longer need!! videogames are translated in italian, how nice!!
I could remain so ignorant till the end of my days!! cute Yo.oY

one more thing:
seems that PS3 configuration datas were found on some system files of BIOSHOCK’s Window version.
I can’t check this one by myself but the net rumored a lot about it…
actually this seems like a spies movie
>.> … mmm…
Comment by Garcian — Sep 24, 2007 @ 10:49 am
@16 I think this was discounted recently as this was code written before the PS3 version was shelved. Think it also has a lot to do with the Unreal engine as obviously that will have configurations for all the consoles, if that makes sense. I would still like to see it on PS3 tho
Comment by Terry — Sep 24, 2007 @ 10:54 am
@Carl, Bioshock is not an Xbox exclusive. It’s available for the PC. If you have a good PC you don’t need an Xbox to play it. In fact if you subtract all of the Xbox titles that are also available or coming overto the PC, the Xbox exclusive list dwindles really fast.
I’m willing to wager that Mass Effect will eventually make it over to the PC as well. It’s only a matter of time.

I’m sick of Carl and all of his friends. Any official response to why he is still allowed to post only negative FUD here?
