Guys. Just in case you haven’t seen the updates on store, here’s what’s new…
Demos
Fifa 2008
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
NBA Live 2008
Packs
Motorstorm Rally Car & Bus (AKA lite pack 1)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Weapon Master
Video
Locoroco Cocorecho Trailer
Heavenly Sword - Creating the music (#5)
Heavenly Sword - The day of the Warrior
Assassin’s Creed Trailer
New Banners
Harry Potter Demo
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Weapon Master Pack
MotorStorm Rally Car and Bus
Loco Roco Trailer.

New Banners? What are these? Other than that, impressive update, nicely done SCEE. Theres talk of “theme packs” any idea of when this might be happening, would be nice to change the appearance of the XMB. Just bought Heavenly Sword & Dirt so thats a few hours over the weekend sorted. Woo.
Comment by Terry — Sep 14, 2007 @ 12:22 pm
Nice one!
That should keep the moaners quit except that one that keeps going on about XMB in games, the nutter.
Comment by Daniel — Sep 14, 2007 @ 12:25 pm
Can we expect a Skate demo on the 4th October. I would love to try before I buy on that one.
Also if you can, dig up some info on dates for:
PixelJunk Racers, Snake Ball, HOME, LocoRoco.
Plus I loved what I saw on EVAC form the HOME stage demo at GDC. It was that helicopter game played on a in HOME arcade machine. Will that be in HOME only or is that too a future DLC from the PSN?
Comment by EpicTel — Sep 14, 2007 @ 12:29 pm
@2 lol, moaners…so you were perfectly happy was you with the past store updates?
and this one still pales against the U.S one this week
Comment by metallicorphan — Sep 14, 2007 @ 12:30 pm
What’s this?
I’m in Sweden and we certainly do not have what you have listed.
Does not all the EU countries get the same?
Come on!
Discrimination I tell you!

Comment by KASH — Sep 14, 2007 @ 12:39 pm
When did we start getting music videos?!
Anyway, nice update, good to see more demos appearing.
It would be nice to see some more PS1 games added to the Network though, seeing as how Japan has about 100 and we have about 3!
@3: I don’t know about the other dates you asked about but I know that LocoRoco Cocoreccho is out next week for £1.99
We are also getting the Ratchet & Clank Future demo on the 4th of October, in case anyone was not aware.
Comment by Mace — Sep 14, 2007 @ 12:57 pm
It might just be my crappy memory - but wasn’t the heavenly sword anime/making of #5 both released last week?
I thought this week - with the release of heavenly sword on PS3 - the last making of and anime (#6) would have been released?
What’s up with the delay?
Comment by JohnSketch — Sep 14, 2007 @ 1:12 pm
Great update!
*Finally* E.U gets some Music Videos like Australia does!
/big grin
I meant to mention last night in regards to EU updates - I understand localised content can take a while to generate, but content that does not need localisation such as wallpapers, PSP themes, some music videos etc - would also be much appreciated.
Comment by Tony Nibbles — Sep 14, 2007 @ 1:13 pm
Hmm, would be nice to have some music videos… Except that I checked during my lunch break and there is none on the store. Also the Assasins Creed video is not there either, intriguing.
Comment by Jamie — Sep 14, 2007 @ 1:18 pm
Again, US store got all the candis
Comment by John — Sep 14, 2007 @ 1:55 pm
Most this content isn’t on my country’s store - only the first-party Sony stuff.
Screw you, Sony!
Comment by Baptiste — Sep 14, 2007 @ 1:56 pm
FIFA 08 is just awful!! nice update though
Comment by Paul — Sep 14, 2007 @ 2:08 pm
No Music Videos and no Assassin’s creed video either on the store (neither in UK nor in France)
Comment by Jenny — Sep 14, 2007 @ 2:10 pm
@11
I agree man i’ve never really been into footy games but thought I’d see what the next generation has to offer, certainly didn’t blow my socks off. Harry Potter isn’t nothing impressive either.
Comment by Terry — Sep 14, 2007 @ 2:17 pm

Comment by carl — Sep 14, 2007 @ 2:26 pm
The Fifa 08 demo is terrible, Fifa 07 are way better
Comment by Kristian — Sep 14, 2007 @ 2:28 pm
Ever since I got my PS3 I’ve been looking forward to ‘next-gen’ footie and this Fifa demo nearly made me cry. It’s so slow and the animations are really jerky. I think the most fun part
is the one-on-one with the keeper in the load screen. Nevermind, Pro Evo Oct 26th, Exciting!
Comment by ptpete — Sep 14, 2007 @ 2:29 pm
Good to see some improvement in the quantity (still not great, but a definite improvement), Idownloaded FIFA last night but haven’t played it yet. Not expecting too much, but will give it a shot.
Anyone tried NBA Live yet? I was always better NBA Jam (he’s on fire!!!) so I’ll probably suck at this one.
Does anyone know if the music videos are being provided in HD format?
@14 - What about in-game XMB Carl? You forgot to ask about that. They might forget, better make a quick post to remind them. Do it in upper case, and repeat it a few times so they don’t miss it.
Comment by Dan — Sep 14, 2007 @ 3:02 pm
There is another user that has the name Carl, I am on here as carl (see no captial C). I dont give a crap about XMB ingame.
Comment by carl — Sep 14, 2007 @ 3:12 pm
It’s lovely stuff and I’m grateful Sony have given us a reasonable update, but why are we still being served later than the US?
Comment by Youlikeyams — Sep 14, 2007 @ 3:18 pm
Plus, the Motorstorm addon not “lite pack one” over here - it’s lite pack one in the US, where they get every last freaking vehicle in the Coyote Weekend pack, for an even cheaper price than we pay for the pack on its own, with less vehicles.
Why is Sony ripping us off?
Comment by Youlikeyams — Sep 14, 2007 @ 3:20 pm
@17
Sorry carl. My mistake, it was just the repeated demands for something in capital letters that threw me. I do apologise.
I’m waiting for the Tekken update too mate. I’m sure it’s on the way, maybe it’s just being all stealthy ninja-like and it’s going to spring out of nowhere next week to kick us in the face. We can hope right?
Comment by Dan — Sep 14, 2007 @ 3:22 pm
@17 carl,
Carl used the same techniques, are you sure you’re not him?
I’m gonna rename him/you “Cut’n'paste Carl”!
Nice one mate!
Comment by Daniel — Sep 14, 2007 @ 3:45 pm
Apologies, folks. The music vids are only available in Australia and New Zealand.

There is no NBA or FIFA in every PSN-store. Why can’t you use same PSN-store for whole Europe ?
ps:im from Finland and NBA and Fifa are not listed.

THIS 425P —***GAMING***— MACHINE WONT EVEN LET ME HAVE A GOOD GAMING EXPERIENCE W/O IN-GAME XMB. COOL OUR STORE UPDATE WAS GOOD, BUT NO IN-GAME XMB IS PATHETIC!
I THOUGHT THIS “MULTI TASKING BEAST” AKA THE CELL CAN HANDLE ANYTHING. THEN WHY CANT I LOAD A SIMPLE SONG OR TALK TO MY FRIEND WHILE PLAYING A GAME????
STOP WHAT YOUR DOING, BECAUSE ITS CRAP ANYWAYS, AND START WORKING ON IN-GAME XMB.
Comment by Chris — Sep 14, 2007 @ 8:14 pm
@32 There’s no need to post the same thing over and over. It’s been confirmed that they are working on in-game XMB, it’s coming. In the mean time try to relax.
Comment by Ben — Sep 14, 2007 @ 8:28 pm
I’m going to keep saying this until it comes out…where is Puzzle Fighter? Shouldn’t it be here by now?
Comment by Paul — Sep 14, 2007 @ 8:35 pm
Chris, shut up. We don’t get firmware updates through the Store.
Shut up, now.
Comment by Youlikeyams — Sep 14, 2007 @ 9:10 pm
@Paul
Yeah, and Im going to keep saying in-game XMB. I feel so ripped off, whenever my bro comes over with his 360 I feel so mad. The interface, the GAMES, the XBOX “guide” for music, messaging, settings, the XBOX LIVE Marketplace which has like 120 demos. They have TV shows, movies, and a *BUNCH* of free and premium expansions.
Our interface is crap, its too bland, kind of like my next point. We barely have any games, even when the 360 was at its 10th month lifecycle, it was rushing through games. No in-game XMB. A VERY few # of demos, and even less expansions, no tv shows or movies. And the worst part is that even if USA gets some games or demos, it means they’re ready, but SCEE couldnt care less about us.
Comment by Chris — Sep 14, 2007 @ 11:10 pm
Chris, care to share with us what gave you the idea that SCEE will listen to moronic posts copied and pasted in capitals like yours above?
They know people want in game XMB, they don’t need to go through blog comments to find that out. You’re wasting your time.
Comment by Tom Eccles — Sep 15, 2007 @ 12:23 am
SHUT THE FUCK UP. YOU DONT DESERVE SHIT FOR COMPLAINING SO MUCH
Comment by Steve — Sep 15, 2007 @ 12:35 am
Got me a PS3 about a month ago, this Playstation Store thing is great. It’s cool that you can download stuff for free and do not need to buy magazines for cover-cd’s with demos anymore. Great stuff!
Not a big fan of Harry Potter but if I worked at SCEE I would also send it out if I read the comments on this blog.. Bunch of babies
Comment by Martin — Sep 15, 2007 @ 3:58 am
Chris, go and buy an XBOX you insecure moron. PS3 is gaining momentum and we are gona steamroll the XBOX360 next year.
It was a great update this week, if you have a US & EU account we got a shit load of shuff, I was very please.
ThreeSpeech seeing as you have one ear in the Sony camp you sure do update us late about PSN?? Can we get to hear about updates before they are uploaded?
It’s always nice to hear whats coming and look forward to it.
Comment by Anthonyp — Sep 15, 2007 @ 9:27 am
Why don’t I see any of the new demo’s in the Belgium Store?
When will the gap between the amount of content between the EU store and US store get smaller? Right now the gap widens with each coming week.
Comment by Stef nighthawk — Sep 15, 2007 @ 9:27 am
I´m in Sweden and there is “NO” Fifa 08 or NBA Live 08 demo why is this happening?
This i getting up, right up my arse this Ps-Store.
Comment by GeordieNinja — Sep 15, 2007 @ 10:04 am
Wouldn’t it be make more sense if U.S content (i.e. with English regional language only) be put on the store at the same in the EU with a warning of some kind stating that it is English language only (like different coloured text for its title, not hard to do). This content could then eventually be replaced and phased out when a multi-regional format for the EU is available. Can’t three-speech do a poll or petition for something like this? I know Sony has wax in their ears over a lot of issues but at least if they knew how many people were interested in being able to choose what to download (and pay for always a good thing when Sony need to recoup its costs for the hardware) they might discover that games that aint in the native tongue are still quite playable. Who cant go out and learn the english words: start, player 1 etc…. I mean most of us do another european language when were at school and even if we were crap we still picked up a useful word or two.
Comment by erinshore — Sep 15, 2007 @ 10:11 am
wouldnt it be easyier to just make one psn store just with the option to change launguages (change font type) and just say if the demos were gonna be in 50 - 60 hrtz? then the psn world would be a happy place
Comment by mrselfdestructuk — Sep 15, 2007 @ 11:16 am
@39 PS3 is gaining momentum and we are gona steamroll the XBOX360 next year.
with what?,the only games on the horizon that look good and arent out for 360 as well is FF13(which will prolly be 2009) and MGS4…thats about it
i like the PS3,but it is no way going to touch the 360
Comment by metallicorphan — Sep 15, 2007 @ 12:31 pm
I think that if localisation is the issue here, why can’t Sony just stick a disclaimer saying that products have not been rated etc. That way we can download what we want. from anywhere.
Also, sonce getting a US account, its not quantity that makes things better, its by far the quality. America might get more, but most of it is crap to be honest.
@44
Your right Sony lost three big opportunities letting 360 get GTA4, Resident Evil & Devil May Cry. Grr.
Comment by Terry — Sep 15, 2007 @ 4:33 pm
@44 “with what?”
with Gran Turismo 5, Kilzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 asshole. that’s a good start, the PS3 isn’t out for 1 year yet. moreover Unreal III will be a PS3/PC only for 2007.
the 360 get shit, only Gears of War and BioShock since 2005… wow how impressive… there is nothing to be proud of. the year for the PS3 will be 2008.
hey 360 haters in disguise if you don’t like the PS3 please find a 360 blog and stop trolling here.
those who are unhappy with their small Euro store only have to create a France or UK account to get the demos in French and English. those who are still jealous about the US updates can create an USA/Quebec accounts and voilà. if you aren’t smart enough to do this forget about the ps3 and get a Wii you’ll be happy.
Comment by Semi-unofficial Account — Sep 15, 2007 @ 7:04 pm
@ Terry - true, but those games are coming too early to be paid for with the current PS3 userbase.
Comment by Tom Eccles — Sep 15, 2007 @ 8:09 pm
I’m tired of these ’sort the PSN’ postings, at the Warhawk launch last week I heard enough to be satisfied long term - so here it is. A Sony representative started the evening by explaining why Europe trails US and Japan - the key issue is they have 1 language each, Europe has (I think) 21 - this makes updates a totally different job. The certification issue didn’t come up, perhaps that has some baring but its not the biggie. They have plans and are addressing it, but it’ll take months, not weeks, so don’t hold your breath.
Sony aren’t stupid, they will be resourcing this issue and know it’ll have to catch up with the 360 experience. For me, it’s a quality over quantity thing, and I’ve never wanted a 360 - especially now I’ve seen killzone 2 running for 15 minutes…
Comment by MrJimmy — Sep 15, 2007 @ 9:09 pm
when will the PLAYSTATION NETWORK CARD will be released in Europe?
it is already available in all NTSC regions…

EU PSN updates are not language issue. I switched everything to english and i still see same PS-Store updated sometime in the 70s. Sony you have sort this PS-Store thing quickly if you want compete with the other one.(and you do want to)
Comment by Raitzi — Sep 16, 2007 @ 6:08 pm
Its a little off track I guess, but following the release of Colin McRae Dirt on Friday I think it is fitting that we offer our repsects for the guy who was killed in a helicopter crash yesterday.
My thoughts are with his family & I hope that his franchise will live on in his honour.
Comment by Terry — Sep 16, 2007 @ 7:30 pm
Yep at least with this game many kids (and adults) too have had a chance to experience in some way the sport that was loved for so long by Colin. Thanks to his franchise many more people now know about his sport and I’m glad to see if nothing else it is another part in a fitting legacy to a man who was a race legend! My thoughts also go to his family and friends. When things like this happen who gives a damn about those store updates. Theres more important things in life.
Comment by erinshore — Sep 16, 2007 @ 10:49 pm
A step in the right direction this week, and about time too! Although not quite to the same standard as the US update, it was close
Perhaps this is the start of a good thing. We can only hope I guess. What’s this? Fifa 08 demo on PSN before it’s on Live? Good stuff! More of this kind of treatment each week, and the past may well be forgiven!
