I don’t want to bitch about this too much. But could you guys please ask SCEE why we always get less content than the US?
It would be wise, marketing wise to deliver the same content to each region at the same time. People notice you know. The internet has made the world a small place.

Has anyone seen the us update? I would like to know why we are being treating like this! Come on Sony this is a shit situation for us in Europe.
Comment by Daniel — Sep 7, 2007 @ 10:27 am
The funny thing is how they’re spreading the Motorstorm DLC over three weeks, it makes you wonder if they’re doing it because they’ve got nothing else to put out next week and the week after. We need someone from SCEE to make an official statement on why things are so bad at the moment and if we can ever expect it to improve.
Comment by uberleet — Sep 7, 2007 @ 10:28 am
It’s as if they are mocking us look at the “more playstation updates” blog to the right here
Comment by Daniel — Sep 7, 2007 @ 10:29 am
Ummm? What about the Heavenly Sword “making of” and anime episodes, should we not have been given part 4 of each this week?
Or are they on there already and ThreeSpeech just did not mention them?
Comment by Mace — Sep 7, 2007 @ 10:34 am
Embarrassing as usual…
As a sidenote to the “SCEA making SCEE look ridiculous” theme: the 80GB PS3 had been out for less than 2 months in the US, yet their BC website already has a… wait for it… ***search engine***!
What exactly is SCEE waiting for? Besides the fact that it should have been included in the first place, now it’s 6 months later and we still have to browse through pages and pages to find a specific game?
Welcome to the Internet 1995-style.

I’m very satisfied with the Playstation 3 hardware. It’s well built, and reliable. On a side note, my Xbox 360 already died four times. Playstation Network offers good online gameplay and it’s free! It’s really a shame that the European store is being put aside. Just look at the weekly US store updates!! We can praise ourselves lucky when we’ll get two or three old trailers. They get a bunch of NEW movie and game trailers, wallpapers and demo’s. Why is there such a big difference? Is it because of the localisation? Localisation is probably the reason why games are getting delayed for a couple of weeks in Europe. The extra space on Blu-ray Discs are being used by devs for localisation. English is an international language, first world language. Why make all those exceptions for the French, Germans, Italians? No offence! Still, Microsoft hasn’t got any problems with this matter? Almost all games and demo’s are globally released. Sure, the US marketplace has got more trailers, which we can’t download from the EU. But at least they are treating their user base the same. Not like: two trailers for the EU, 10 trailers, two demo’s and some downloadable content for the US, and a bunch of PS1 games for Asia.
Please pass our comments along to the people who can change the way thing are going right now. European customers are left in the cold…

Sony,
I bought the ps3 from day one when it was released here in Europe. Until now I have bought 8 eight games (boxes) and almost everything that has come out on the psn. I have 15 more games booked for delivery when released. I buy a couple of blu ray-movies every month. Right now I’m in a buying process to buy a new full HD 46” lcd in the upper segment. I am active in several forums and I also host matches in different multiplayer games. You could summarize it by saying that I am a good customer from a financial point of view and also from a word of mouth perspective.
So, am I a satisfied customer?
No, not really.
1. I got the box later than the rest of the world (Japan & US).
2. When I got it, it was a less good machine (backwards compability) for a higher price.
3. Sony officials said in Swedish media that the ps3 should not sound more than 20 decibels. Did it sound more? Yes it did. Better than competition but still not as you communicated.
4. In Europe we have no dialogue with officials.
5. Different markets get different products (PSN) Yes, we are different markets so you want to localize your product before release. Sony, as you want to localize to be modern from a marketing point of view. Do not forget that the consumer is also getting more modern. If I go in the local store and buy milk for one dollar. If I see the next consumer also buy milk for 50 cent (or get offered a new kind of milk) I get mad. Internet has made that local store global.
6. I must wait for a lot of the third party games to be released for my platform. Compared to competition. Many of them with less good quality (graphic, framrate etc) Sony from my consumer perspective your relationship to third party developers seems not to be in good shape.
7. Demos and content overall, available for us consumers compared to competition is not good.
8. The SW on ps3 do not offer as much as competition.
a. It’s harder to communicate with your friends.
b. The accessability (in.game xmb) is lacking
c. Why can’t I listen to radio?
d. Why can’t I listen to music when folding? Do not come with the argument that the folding should get all the power. Really a simple mp3-player, how much power does one of those need? My cell phone handles it..
e. Why can’t I even look at trailers on the official playstation blog with the ps3 browser?
f. Etc
g. Etc
Yes you have some awesome games coming in the near future but that has competition to. Yes the design of the ps3 and the xmb is really nice but that is not key in this situation. Yes blu ray is great, well I will miss movies. Perhaps I will buy a regular blu ray.
But,
Your transactional way of doing business along with the discrimination of different markets (I cannot se it in another way really) is really getting to me.
If you do not act up I will change my ps3 to an Elite. I will buy a sharp or Samsung instead of your KDL-46X3500. I will cancel my booked games and stop buying blu ray discs. And worst of all for you guys, I will start to be one of them that says on forums and to friends; Sony? Nah, not a company that delivers.
Best regards,
Christian

The localization is usually ready way before the game’s release so I don’t think that is the reason for the delays. It may be related to approval/age limit issues for each country in Europe.
Anyway, it would be nice to have some sort statement from SCEE to explain the reasons why Europe does not get as much content as US

Since this ‘unofficial’ sony blog is clearly actually official, I would like to ask you to answer these questions to your customers:
1. Why are we STILL so far behind in content. Do not give us nonsense answers about the complications. The 360 got Puzzle Fighter all over the world on the same date.
2. Why do we never recieve any communication on release dates? Why is it that the company simply never seems to budge on it’s ‘no comment’ attitude?
3. Where are Puzzle Fighter, Cash Money Chaos, Piyotama, and all the other games that the US has been enjoying for (in some cases) months?
4. Why does the EU not deserve demos which the US gets?
5. Why do questions like these never recieve a proper public statement? GIVE US SOME ANSWERS!!!

@Christian: Great message (despite the apparent technical hitches;) ).
I think you echoed perfectly the concerns of many **loyal** Sony customers.
By “loyal customers”, I’m talking about people who have bought every piece of Sony hardware, and often several of each;
people who stood by the PS3 when bashing it was the videogame equivalent of owning an iPod: you just weren’t cool if you didn’t;
European gamers who got the PS3 on launch day, thus making Europe the only territory where sales weren’t downright disappointing;
people who feel that the only thanks they’re getting is a price drop 4 months after they forked over to Sony a large portion of their monthly income, shoddy online support, being treated like the retarted cousin who’s happy anyway, why bother with him? …and so on
(Christian put it better than I could).
I guess what we all mean to say is, in a nutshell: GET A GRIP! Sony is taking its European customers for granted, and that might be their biggest mistakes yet (which is saying something given their recent track record).

Another poor update in comparison to what is available on the US store which has announced :
The new demos include:
• Stranglehold
• NBA Live 08
There are also new add-ons for two popular PS3 games – MotorStorm and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. For all the MotorStorm fans, the add-on pack includes a new track, 4 new vehicles, 9 races and a new online mode. Now, for those of you who are just interested in the vehicles, we give you the option to buy those individually, at $0.99 each. The vehicles that are sold individually are the same ones that are in the add-on pack, making the pack a great deal! The Ninja Gaiden Sigma add-on (first of three) includes 5 survival modes for $2.99.
• MotorStorm Revenge Weekend Add-on Pack (New track, vehicles, races and race mode) — $5.99
• MotorStorm Add-on Vehicle 1 (Wakazashi Razor bike) — $0.99
• MotorStorm Add-on Vehicle 2 (Wombat Mudslide ATV) — $0.99
• MotorStorm Add-on Vehicle 3 (Atlas Varjack mudplugger) — $0.99
• MotorStorm Add-on Vehicle 4 (Atlas Arizona big rig) — $0.99
• Ninja Gaiden Sigma Weapons Master Add-on (5 survival modes) — $2.99
And, finally, plenty of trailers and wallpapers:
• Turok “Quiet Kills” Trailer
• PixelJunk Racers Trailer
• Heavenly Sword “Making Of” No. 5
• Heavenly Sword Anime No. 5
• Lair “World in Chaos” Video
• MotorStorm “Coyote Revenge” Video
• Drillbit Tailer Trailer
• Resident Evil: Extinction Trailer
• Heavenly Sword Anime No. 5 Wallpaper
The contact address in the UK for SCEE is [email protected]. I suggest we all email them to ask them for a statement, anyone agree?
Comment by Lee Richards — Sep 7, 2007 @ 11:14 am
Christian, I find your lack of faith disturbing.
I think you’re being a bit OTT there and exagerrating in some places. Whilst I agree on some of your points, I feel they’ll all eventually, be resolved.
Get your 46″ LCDTV and you’ll appreciate your PS3 ten times more than on a CRT or smaller screen
2. When I got it, it was a less good machine (backwards compability) for a higher price.
Yawn - That was stated from the start. The physical emotion engine ships would eventually be removed and replaced with Emulation. That’s what they did on PS2 with PS1 bc and they always said they’d remove the emotion engine in PS3 when emulation was good and ready. No PS3 models are produced with Emotion Engine chips in now so all new PS3 owners globally are in the same boat. Even with emulation and not chips, compare PS3’s BC to 360 and, well - there is no comparison, PS3 has more BC support hands-down.
8. The SW on ps3 do not offer as much as competition.
Simply not true imo. The quantity and quality of PS3s firmware updates are adding more and more options to the PS3s capabilities. Awesome quality DVD upscaling. Blu Ray. CD Audio upscaling. Media Streaming with DLNA compatability. WWW Browser. Remote Play. Voice & Video chat with friends. Bluetooth and USB plug and play compliance for a multitude of devices with no lock-down on manufacturer. Audio encoding and importing. Photo management, printing, editing. Support for any model/make of 2.5″ HDD (none of this £100 first party hard drive nonsense). Full linux support - I fail to see how the PS3’s wide variety of functionality does not exceed that offered by competition.
c. Why can’t I listen to radio?
You can. Virgin Radio is just one of many radio stations with an MP3 / Flash stream which works within the PS3 browser just fine.
Why can’t I listen to music when folding? Do not come with the argument that the folding should get all the power. Really a simple mp3-player, how much power does one of those need? My cell phone handles it..
Your cell phone doesn’t support Folding@Home.
And you’re missing the point somewhat. Folding@Home isn’t meant to be something you run whilst carrying out other tasks. It acts as a screensaver and doesn’t pretend to be anything other than that (you can configure the idle time before it kicks in) - it’s something that by it’s very nature, shouldn’t run when you’re doing something else.
Comment by Tony Nibbles — Sep 7, 2007 @ 11:16 am
This weeks contents is poor very very very very poor.
So bad I’ve gone and done something I really should not have had to do and created a US account with false details.
Well done SCEE.
Hopefully when I go home I will have the Stranglehold demo to play, while I wait forever to get into a ranked official Warhawk game.
Comment by AliC — Sep 7, 2007 @ 11:35 am
I’m afraid I have to agree, I’ve bought a lot of stuff off the PSN and I’ve been happy with the quality of the content. But it’s disappointing when you visit stores in other regions to see what they have to choose from.
However, there must be a valid reason for it because if you look at the Official UK Mag’s blu-ray disc the demos they give are rubish and often recycled - I think they are still including Genji and Resistence demos on there! If this was just SCEE being lazy or screwing us over you would know because the mag would still get the updates, but they don’t.
As it is, it’s not a huge problem for me to log into my dummy US account and download the demos, wallpapers and movie trailers. It just makes me think why not offer this on the UK store to save me the trouble and make the UK store more appealing?
It’s not as if it’s heavily restricted by checking your PS3 region code or IP address, it’s only like going to any US website on your PC to view movie trailers or download demos. How hard can it be to link them directly from the UK store? As for the wallpapers, not that I use them, but there really is no excuse for them not to be on the UK store (they can’t possibly have any rating/copyright restrictions).
Only problem with using my US account is that I can’t buy anything, and I really want the new Blast Factor levels!
I’ll be logging on to my US account tonight to download the Stranglehold demo also.
Seriously ThreeSpeech, whenever you post an article about the PSN you get a deluge of responses from disgruntled fans. Surely you’ve received enough feedback by now to justify getting a full interview on the subject published here?
Comment by Apnomis — Sep 7, 2007 @ 11:37 am
Just get a USA account and download the demo from there. I am happy with Europe store and i think it releases demo’s and content at the right time.
We really need to get out more and stop stressing about a few weeks here and a few weeks there. I for one am happy with some of the delays it means i can save some brass to buy the games instead of bankrupting myself to buy them all on day of release. We all know that we can only play one game at a time and we tend to play the latest. The PSN content is very strong and they are getting better at communicating it, the internet has changed things but Sony is huge and they dont have people just sat there sending out posts to keep us lot happy.
USA is bigger and has more PS3 owners so they are going to get stuff first, its always been that way and always will be, i dont see people creating this much fuss over a movie that has been out for months in USA before hitting these shores…… seriously we need to get a life!

@ Tony N.
First of thanks for the tip regarding the radio. I will try that.
Regarding your answer, top level. I do not concur. It’s all about perceptional viewing. It’s not what Sony (or you) thinks they say and believe. It’s how I in the receiving end value it.

Christian
Ps. I already have an HD LCD. I just want to upgrade.
Comment by Christian, Sweden — Sep 7, 2007 @ 11:41 am
As a side note, this isn’t limited to the PSN, there are just as many posts like this about the UK Xbox Marketplace. Here is one I randomly Googled: “Yip, us folk in Europe have had our pants pulled down with the marketplace, twice the price with 10% of the content”
I can understand it more with XBox as MS is a US company that has always traditionally primarily catered for it’s home nation, also TV distribution rights aren’t straight forward (Video Marketplace).
But Sony is Japanese with a strong European audience, you would think they’d be more willing to pull the stops out for our store.
Speaking of the Video Market place, I’m really pleased about the Europe only PlayTV and the alliance with BSkyB. Sky have the rights to most of the big US TV shows, so I’m confident that when Sony do launch their video download service that Europe (UK in particular) won’t be left out in the cold - I hope!
Comment by Apnomis — Sep 7, 2007 @ 11:42 am
i would like to see a Global PSN store rather than multi PSN stores based on locales. With a single Global PSN store all users would have equal content and would eliminate outrage every thursday whenever the store is updated.
Comment by Paul — Sep 7, 2007 @ 12:04 pm
I agree, the update is CR@P. But stop whinging and just create a US account like the rest of us. Best of both worlds!!!
PS, If you think we have it bad, check out the Japanese Store, they get less than we do. At least your getting something
Comment by VoodooCharlie — Sep 7, 2007 @ 12:14 pm
Ok, i’m going to sound like a novice now, which I am really but can someone explain to me the implications of a fake US account. i’m fed up of SCEE messing us about but Im thinking will providing false information in order to create the account cause trouble with registering a credit card with them? Also I assume American games will work on ours so surely I can import them too?
I’m not going back to 360 purely as since the ring of death I’ve just been put off them for life. Sony need to sort it out though as unreliable hardware is just as damaging as poor customer support. The PS1 & 2 were massive hits due to clever marketing & a strong games catalogue.
With all due respect to the guys at ThreeSpeech I feel this is a way that they would like us to vent our frustration but not actually see any results. The fact that about 80% of messages on here now are negative would seem to justify not allowing postings on say an official site that prosective new customers migh stumble across.
As someone else said this is basically discrimination for being European.

Well looking at the update at first, i was ah thats not so bad but then i remember it had been confirmed that they where getting the Stranglehold demo, and there was all the demo and psn titles they have that we dont. And then to make it worse they got a massive update this week!
And ok fair enough i understand things arent so straight forward for the EU store as there are different languages and legal stuff and what not. But it is becoming abit of a joke now in some regards. There are items on the other stores that surely we should have by now, but id settle if we just had some sort of official statement about why our store is so far behind, and if they could give us some sort of timetable to show us when we will be getting some of the demos etc.
Oh and as for the people who say just create a US account, thats all well and good but we shouldnt have to do that
Comment by Paul Convery — Sep 7, 2007 @ 12:38 pm
This is really turning out to to be a joke, Europe has had a more loyal following for Sony. How do they treat us? A weekly slap to the face. Good going Sony piss of one of your largest markets, really good business practice. I say SCEE needs to reinvent itself and fast
Comment by Bound — Sep 7, 2007 @ 1:15 pm
I’ve got to agree with all the negative comments. Sony needs to sort this out asap. Theres no reason we shouldn’t at least have the wallpapers on the uk store.
if translating stuff into different european lanauges is a problem then share our store with the u.s.

I would like to add my comments of utter dissatisfaction of SCEE to the list. The age old argument of localisation does not apply when we are getting the additional Motorstorm *graphical* content later than the US for instance. I mean, do the French and German people see colours differently to Italians?? It’s utter nonsense. I will not be purchasing any Sony (yes, I am going to extend it beyond SCE) products from within the EU region at all while this continues. I’ll import or do without. I’m thinking of buying a competing console as a vote against this nonsense as well.

@ Terry - To set up a new account go to your User menu on the XMB (the leftmost icon with the smiley face) and create a new user (for example TerryUSA).
Log in as the new user and select Network on the XMB, and choose “Sign Up to the PS Network”. Follow the instructions on the sign up screen, ensuring you choose USA as your home country.
You will need a valid US postal address, so you can either use a friend/relatives or just Google the address of a US based Hotel or something. As long as you untick/tick your communications options to tell them not to send you stuff through the post it doesn’t really matter. Also you will need a different e-mail address to the one you use for your UK account.
Once you complete the signup you’re free to browse the US PSN Store at your leisure, just log in as the USA user and access the Store the same as normal, you can even log back into your UK account after starting the downloads and the US downloads will still continue to as normal, even if you mix them up with UK downloads!
The only thing you won’t be able to do is buy anything, so you can only download the free stuff. I think there is a way of using an American Express card to buy stuff from the US store, but I don’t have one. I’m happy enough just to get the trailers and demos…
You can repeat the process with a Japanese address if you want to, though I’ve never bothered with that myself…

Comment by zetsurin — Sep 7, 2007 @ 3:30 pm
Sony…just why?
What’ve we done for this?
Why is MotorStorm - a British developed game - getting greater coverage on the American download store?
Why aren’t we getting Stranglehold? Any excuses about localisation can be shot to bits because the demo probably works just fine on European PS3s. Why are you doing us over like this?
:/
Comment by Youlikeyams — Sep 7, 2007 @ 3:52 pm
Demo works just fine on EU PS3 Youlikeyams, myself any many have had to download it from the US store.
Comment by AliC — Sep 7, 2007 @ 4:10 pm
If you folks are living for what gets added each week to the PSN, you should seriously consider getting out more. I know Sony says ‘THis is Living’ but I’m sure they don’t want to affect your mental well-being in such a manner as in evident in these posts.
As if a great game like WarHawk, at a decent price, wasn’t enough for the week, let alone the month - now we’re all upset we won’t be having a few minutes of play with a couple of games.
BTW the Japanese store got a video of ‘Railfan: Taiwan Shinkansen’ that we didn’t get either, just so you know, you can now feel even more sorry for yourself.
Comment by hugZ — Sep 7, 2007 @ 4:15 pm
@46 - Youlikeyams - Oh, it’s better than that… Not only does it work on European PS3s, but a guy on can’t-remember-which-forum played it in French, English and German (by changing the language settings of the console).
Those three languages, at least, are confirmed.
So, yeah, localisation issues? Don’t think so.

Comment by hugZ — Sep 7, 2007 @ 4:15 pm….WARHAWK is good but that doesn’t even work how it should at the moment. i’ve played loads of ranked games and the stats aren’t updating. The fact we’re looking forward to some awesome games in the next 3 months shouldn’t mean the store gets left to rot. not everybody can afford new games every week.

@49,
“If you folks are living for what gets added each week to the PSN, you should seriously consider getting out more.”
You seem to be confused. Getting irritated about lack of content does not in itself imply a dependence on it. I actually use my PS3 quite sparingly as I have work to do and a wife to keep happy, along with hobbies apart from gaming. Yet I am extremely irritated that the EU is being treated on absolutely different terms than the US.

In your capacity as an organ to which the loyal Playstation users can contact the elusive, secretive and aloof SCEE can you please once and for all get a simple and straightforward honest response for me pertaining to the following straightforward question:
When will the add-on for BLAST FACTOR which has been available for purchase on the US store for over a month be available to purchase for the Euro store?
Thankyou, looking forward to your response!

I dont know how long if been saying that the EU PSN is a farce. I cant think of any reason why its not like the USA PSN and i find it even more mind boggling that we get less Psone classics we cant buy Castlevainia SoTN. It seems there just shooting them selfs in the foot with that idea by not letting an ENTIRE CONTINENT able to purchase it and many other PSone titles.
people are only making a big deal about it cause its the only problem with the PS3 and its a HUGE problem.
o well back to warhawk!!!

Comment by Terry — Sep 7, 2007 @ 11:34 pm
I think the only feasible solution is to allow us Europeans to purchase stuff from the American store or indeed any store. After all Amazon let me buy stuff from their US store.
I understand that there is an issue with those users who are not using HDMI connections, but let people sign up to a disclaimer.
This would be great as it would encourage competition between international stores.
Comment by big pish — Sep 8, 2007 @ 12:40 am
Most europeans interested in gaming are quite good at understanding the english language.
And even if Sony, by law or whatever, need to modify content for Europe, they might want to take a peek at MS and see how they are able to do it so much better.
Beside the US/EU (I won’t say UK, that’s annoying too) difference, I also think the difference between the “box” and PS3 contentwise is shocking.
Yes, I know that it’s been on the market longer but how long does Sony need to catch up?
Why a weekly update?
Why hold on to demos delivered to you (Skate anyone?) and that have been out on the “box” almost a month?
What kind of signal is that sending?
I know that the PSN is a free service unlike the Marketplace. But as it stands now I’d gladly pay for the content that I want.
Maybe making me feel this way has been the plan all along?

Us Europeans always get treated like crap, we waited longer for the ps3, we paid more, now we get hardly anything on the PSN. Please help me in campaigning for the release of the PS3 Skate Demo (WHICH SONY ARE HOLDING BACK) by posting messages of complaint on the playstation blog website within PSN-related news articles, alternatively send a POLITE e-mail to [email protected] and ask them to forward your complaint to Sony (They work hand in hand with Sony). Remember; POWER IN NUMBERS!
Comment by Adam — Sep 8, 2007 @ 11:45 am
I will write the following in French, just to make my point clear. I’m sur people @SCEE speak any european language since they make us wait for localisation…

Ok, if today was the first day you got your PS3 and visited the PSN store, would you be disappointed? No, there’s loads of things available on the store. It’s just that we all (myself included) monitor it weekly, and bitch about it when we dont get a bunch of demos etc.
Reading the above is like reading a PS3 article on an Xbox site. I have an Xbox too, and love it, but i’m sure glad I have my PS3. Gaming doesn’t get much better than Warhawk. At least, not unti GT5 Prologue comes along.
Comment by FredUp — Sep 8, 2007 @ 2:20 pm
@64,
Your missing the point. I suggest you take a look at the US store, no word of a lie its got about 10 times more stuff on it that the EU one. Thats not to say its all good mind, having played Stanglehold has put me off buying that for starters - looks distinctly last generation if you ask me.
I know the PS3 is arguably more established there having being released earlier but what the majority of people here are annoyed about is why all the stores cannot be the same, why some people miss out on content for no given reason. A solution to this is an international store, which is what I imagine Home will do. Moreso Sony have not come forward and actually said why this is the case, I’m sure if they did people would not be so annoyed about it.
Comment by Terry — Sep 8, 2007 @ 4:09 pm
For those of you with the US account look for Little Big Planet (its a new trailer to what we’ve seen in the EU store) & the Home trailer… certainly re-ignites my interest.
PGA 08 looks identical to 07?
Comment by Terry — Sep 8, 2007 @ 4:35 pm
By the way, Home will be accessible from the XMB. It will consist of public and your own “private” spaces which you can design fully. New content can be bought from the store. And it will be contantly evolving and getting bigger.
Comment by Terry — Sep 8, 2007 @ 4:39 pm
are you stupid?
will you stop complaining about the US getting more demos than the EU? don’t you know all playable demos are released by US publishers: EA, Take2, Midway, Capcom USA etc. there is not such publishers in Europe and thats why you can’t have these US stuff.
even the Japaneese store has 1/3 demos of the US store, while the EU has 2/3.

Sony,
we don’t SIXAXIS.
I’m serious.
(PS3 is a very reliable machine, and probably it will succeed, or at least I hope so, just remove this SIXAXIS thing for a good Rumble feature.
Don’t try to emulate the Wii, PS3 market and fan-base are differen.
Right now I prefer to play same games on my malfunctioning Xbox360, trying to avoid SIXAXIS gameplay)
I know, this is not the right post to put this statement, sorry.
And one more thing: think globally sony, think globally: the world is one, people are one; we share more similarities than differences.
nice day to everyone, and please forgive my english, but it is not my language.

Week after week, gamers air their frustrations here with Sonys ineptness at giving us some store content, and come the next update we are back to square one. Sony clearly does not listen to us at all. I can’t be arsed with it all. I purchased Warhawk, and I find it very difficult to get a game. I purchased Lair, depsite the review scores, and while it isn’t as bad as they made out, it’s only average. If things don’t start to get better very soon, I may opt to become a one console only man. a 360 man.
Comment by MarkMitt — Sep 9, 2007 @ 9:41 am
Americans are due a new track this month for Motorstorm called “Eagles Nest”. considering this is a British game I bet you we won’t be seeing it any time soon.
Also, Home will be enabled on mobile phones, just so you know. And its changed a lot, before it was an enclosed meeting area, its now like a town square. Have seen some very fancy looking private spaces with your media and files running as flat screen TV’s, dukeboxes and pictures on walls respectfully. It will also allow corporate spaces which I guess will serve as a means to distribute media.
Sony will also be launching a related site similar to Facebook & MySpace that will allow further communication betwen its users.
Little Big Planet looks amazing, the demo shows four players working together to solve problems within levels so all players can proceed.
Seriously guys I’ve learnt more of the US PSN in one hour than I have since March from Europe! If your not already there, get there.

for the 2nd time i’ll have to remember you the US-only demos are released by EA, MIDWAY, TAKE2 or CAPCOM USA, all are US publishers, this is easy to understand. we don’t have such publishers in EU.

I’d like to hear something concerning Sony’s marketing strategy. I know its been a big deal as of late, in light of Square-Enix’s comments, but I’ve been wondering what Sony’s goals are for awhile now. Granted we’ve had games delayed and such, but for most of the games we share with the 360, when I see TV ads, I rarely see Sony’s emblem. I rarely see ads for any of its recent exclusives (ie Warhawk, Lair, just saw Heavenly Sword last night at 2am). I think people are associating most of the games for the 360, even the ones we share. It’d be nice to hear what they plan to do. If recent studies show few people know about Blu-ray media in general, and then few people know the difference between a 360 and PS3, how does Sony get the word out?
Comment by Julian — Sep 9, 2007 @ 7:02 pm
The thing you missed out people is the US-only PSN demos are actually released by US publishers including EA, Take2, Midway, Capcom USA or Sega of America, not Euro ones that why you can’t have them in the Euro PSN, this is license issue, this is how business works.
you should stop complaining because the Euro store has 2/3 of the US one compared which is not that bad after all compared with the 1/3 the Jap store has to offer.
actually, what is a shame is the Killzone 2 press conference video shot at Leipzig is not available in the PSN store while these videos can be downloaded in Gamespot and IGN… in the other hand what is a scandal is the MGS4 and Killzone 2 playable demos shown at game showw aren’t released in the PSN store.
a last thing, hey threespeech will you stop being assholes trying to remove my comments (two times already) because censorship is useless against me.

Dear Sony,
I Have been a Playstation fan ever since the PS1 and i have never had any complaint, both my 1st PS1 and PS2 work perfectly and i have had the best expericences for gaming, and same with the PS3, im having a great time on it and the exclusive games you guys have coming out from now to mid next year, my Xbox 360 is going to be very neglected lol but one thing i do have to complain about is that the EU PSN is pathetic in content wise compared to that of the US and Japan, they get loads more demos and arcade games and PS1 Classics compared to our store which is lucky to get a new trailer or 2 or on the rare occasion a demo, so what i’d really ask you guys is to please release a world wide PS Store, so we EU Gamers can get the same stuff as the US and we will feel not so screwed.
Thank You for taking the time to read this, much aprreciated.

Agree with you, whenever you see a multiplatform advert is is nearly always ended with the 360 logo, never do we see the “This is Living” logo which I thought was the PS3 slogan. This can of course make people think more of 360 than PS3. Every one of thes ads becomes an ad for 360. What happened to ads where you see a screen with all the available platforms?
Sony needs a marketing campaign to bring Bluray technology to the front and also hit back with some exclusive content. I don’t doubt sony but as many seem to point out Sony dont seem to have a direction at the moment, al least not in Euroe anyhow.

Here is a question, not about store updates, but about stores…
I work in London, and I popped into the big Virgin Megastore the other day, and there was no less than 6 playable xbox 360’s on the shop floor for customers to enjoy. Why does Sony not do this? its no wander people are buying the xbox more if they can try it first, people need to see what the ps3 can do first hand. Its the same for other stores such as Game, xbox 360, wii, but no PS3, any ideas anyone..?? had to get that off my chest!!
Comment by Anzagi — Sep 11, 2007 @ 9:05 am
Sony insist on creating their own zone inside a store with plush sofas, big sony screen etc. That’s why GAME etc. don’t have any demo consoles as they won’t give up the space.
