1. Thats excellent news it was a bit limited last time and I know a lot of us were bursting to ask questions to him and didn’t get to.
   Is there any chance of him being able to hang about for a bit after and do a meet and greet kind of thing?

11. K I have a question. If this will be a questions and answer event, the questions have to come from somewhere right? And I live in Norway so theres no chance of me getting there. Please take my questions into consideration

    So it’s the following:

    1. Why be so secret about whats going to be revealed next in the development of PS3? Just tell me, what will PS3 have by the end of the year that it doesnt have now.

    2. This isnt exactly a question but an idea. I would love to be able to ‘add’ certain features to a user board of some kind. Much like how RSS feeds work, but things like horoscopes, coming movies, happenings, available demos. All this put in like a favourites bag combined with a callendar system.

    3. How will the Casino Royale registrations be handled? Some countries in europe have different times, and this could cause an unfair situation. I really want my Bond bluray!

    4. Whats the situation with Eyetoy HD ? When will we get?

    5. Oh this is an important one: Are some PS3 games going to be region locked, possibly third party, or are you going to do better than Microsoft on this, will every single PS3 game be region free nomatter where they are from? This could prevent us europeans having to wait so long. Which we absolutely hate.

    Does Sony have any plans to update the firmwire in the PS3 so that Blu-Ray films can be displayed in 720p??? I think its a absolute joke that a company of sony’s size has made a console that will only fully display in 1080p/1080i/420p.

    Unfortunately at this point in time the answer to your question is yes you will be watching blu-ray movies in 480p. This is suicide for sony!!! 95% of hdtv owners in europe dont have 1080p tv’s!! someone should tell sony that.

    Please don’t comment on issues you don’t have any knowldge of.

    Blu-Ray will play just fine in 1080i or 1080p. Any TV sold in Europe with the HD Ready logo, MUST support at least 1080i AND 720p, so will work fine with PS3 for games and Blu-Ray movies.

    Blu-Ray will play just fine in 1080i or 1080p. Any TV sold in Europe with the HD Ready logo, MUST support at least 1080i AND 720p, so will work fine with PS3 for games and Blu-Ray movies.

    First off I have plenty of knowledge on HDTV’s I work for a big company which sells them. Where did I state that blu-ray movies wouldnt play in 1080i??

    Fact is yes european HDTV’s do have to support 1080i and 720p, but if you are so knowledgable you would know that progressive (720p,1080p) is a better picture than 1080i (interlaced)

    Have you ever seen the difference in a 1080i and 720p picture?? 720p is the best by far.

    Fact still remains the ps3 cannot and I repeat cannot at this current time play blu-ray in 720p which is the best picture for a tv that can play 720p and 1080i.

    In alot of cases 1080I DOES look better than 720p. On my LG 32 it sure does.. but on a freinds samsung 720p is far better than 1080i.. its all down to the make of the tv really and when i say better the differnce was.. small at that so really guys i wouldent worry. if 720p looks better go with that, if 1080 is better go with that. go with whats best and dont thing bigger numbers(in most cases) = better!

    Also as a rule of thumb if your tv does 720p its very likely to do 1080i so dont worry.

26. You are only quoting from your experience on your LG, interlaced picture is not better than progressive!! maybe on your tv it looks better but fact is progressive is better than interlaced. Interlaced picture takes 2 frames to refresh all the horizontial lines on the screen (hard to see on the naked eye) but you can notice the difference in a progressive picture that refreshes all in one frame. Believe me I have tested both in store on tv’s side by side.

    Rule of thumb? your tv should have 1080i, so tell me what if its a early hdtv and its doesnt?? point is sony should have this fixed, and we wouldnt be having this discussion.

27. Can someone ask Phil what PS2 games will or won’t be backwards compatible with the PS3 and how soon will the removal of the ps1 and ps2 chips result in a reduction in price for the PAL PS3???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
