WARHAWK RELEASE CONFIRMATION

There has also been speculation flying around that Warhawk may be cancelled. We can confirm that this is categorically not true. Warhawk is currently scheduled for a June 07 release in the UK.

  1. Yes…but is it a full release or a PS Store download? THAT is the question.

  2. Thanks for clearing that up that it has not been canceled. That’s great that you responded so fast to that rumor. My only remaining question is the same as #1 above.

  3. All WarHawk rumours are false, and that includes the PS store download speculation.

  4. I hope they make this game more flying than running. The flying sequences look awesme and the running/FPS sections look hoaky.

  5. Glad to see the response, I hope to see more rumor squashing on Three Speech. I’m excited about Warhawk and hope it turns out to be really fun!

  6. Well that’s good that all the rumors are false. What has been admitted by Jaffe on the Neogaf forums is that they were having some sort of problems in the development process. Doesn’t matter to me as long as they put out a good game in the end. June ‘07 release sounds very good to me! :)

  7. Is it just me, or does it seem there are a bunch of people/websites out there going to great lengths to try to harm Sony as much as they can? Whether it be negative fanboyism under the guise of ‘genuinely interested’ or down right vitriol (blatant trolling) or the more insedious rumour spreading.

Out of the dark times come the light. (Watch this space…)

Good on Three Speech to respond so quickly.

  8. To expound on this, Gamespot has also confirmed with Sony that the rumors are false and that Warhawk will be shown within a month or so, “The rumors are false. We’re still in development with the same team at Incognito and we’re excited to show the progress of the game to media within the next month or so. At the same time, we’ll be able to confirm an updated release date, too.”

Great news that we’ll finally be able to see new info on this game in the somewhat near future.

  9. @VG Aficionado…

The forum you belong to that includes DAVID JAFFE (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138329&page=10)
has these as his last 2 posts:

Wow! It seems like I have to explain stuff very carefully!
And I would like too, but again, it’s not my place to go into the details.
Really, I mean,I do work for Sony, right?
How would you like it if someone who worked for you started spouting all the info?
And still, the thing to be aware of is that I don’t lie.
While I may not be able to give away the details, what I said is accurate.
Killing titles is not something any company does lightly.
Lightly killing a game from a studio as experienced as Incog? That’s even more rare.
I think you guys will be happy when you play the game in question tho.
    Very happy.
Everyone should just move on to the next topic at hand.
Sheesh! Can’t even say one word around these parts

    AND

I hope this attitude changes. Sony Network Store is not a dumping ground for the ‘not good enough’ titles of the world. That’s like saying THE SOPRANO’S wanted to be a movie but had to settle for HBO. Not saying all the games reflect that level yet-and that is OUR job to prove to you that downloadable games are JUST as good as retail games, just different- but I hope when we do start continually putting out games of a high quality that this view will change. And I can tell you, in Santa Monica we approach EVERY downloadable title we make with the same passion, love, and dedication to the craft as we do every full 60 buck retail product.

    David

This does NOT deny that it could end up as a downloadable PS Store game…

  10. Timeless, I’ve been thinking exactly the same. Right now, it seems like nearly everywhere on the internet is against Sony and trying to bring them down. Ah well, I guess it will stop soon. What people don’t realise is that the X360 launch was just as terrible, an equally bad set of games (if not worse) and systems overheating here there and everywhere.

Anyway, thanks for confirming the rumours arent true.

  11. Hi Tom… if I send an email to tom @ your blog url, will you get it?

I want to tell you (about) something :-)

    Comment by Timeless — January 17, 2007 @ 9:20 pm

  12. Nope, dont have any mail accounts set up on that address yet. Head over to my blog and look in the about section, I just updated it with my email address in there :)

  13. Kspraydad, I just mean that all of these WarHawk rumours appeared out of the blue, and it looks like there’s no truth to any of them from what we can see here. Someone speculated that it could become a downloadable title because development was stale and they had little good content, so it would make sense in that case. However, all that was groundless speculation based on a false rumour.

  14. If you work for Sony, tell them to get their buns in gear and add background downloading and custom soundtracks!

    Comment by Extinction — January 18, 2007 @ 5:22 am

  15. YEP. *BACKGROUND DOWNLOADS*
    Essential.

And the ability to listen to music whilst in the PS Store / web browser.

  16. You guys need to be honest about your affiliation. This is a sony blog and ya’ll are bullshit to hide it.

  17. whoever is an idiot.

  18. Warhawk is their flagship (no pun intended) for the SIXAXIS controller, and if it were turned into a download only, it would basically mean the end of the whole SIXAXIS deal.

    And waffles make me giggle.

    Comment by AmishGramish — January 19, 2007 @ 3:20 am

  19. Just to confirm - Warhawk will be out on full release!

    Comment by Three Speech — January 19, 2007 @ 12:20 pm

  20. Whoever- Way to dig up old news. They came out and said it a long time ago. They work for Sony, but are not a part of Sony.

    Comment by Andy — January 19, 2007 @ 12:44 pm

  21. Custom Soundtracks — A MUST

The two most necessary updates to the firmware are most definitely background downloading and custom soundtracks. Hell, if EXCITETRUCK can do it, Motorstorm had damn well better do it too! I love Nirvana, but on the 100th listen, “Breed” loses some of its shine.
