Here’s some new details from the Tokyo Game Show regarding Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the showcase of what to expect with Gran Turismo 5, available via download on the PlayStation Network and on Blu-ray disc.
30 cars available to race with.
5 tracks – including London City Track and Suzuka. You’ll also be able to race the tracks in reverse, and with “alternate routes”.
16 player online multiplayer.
Photo Mode – take screenshots / pictures of in game experiences and save them to your PS3’s hard drive.
Gran Turismo TV – download / watch racing related videos through the PlayStation Network.
My Garage – a personalised feature, complete with your friends list, a chat functionality and game records.

More Gran Turismo news for you. Before the end of the year Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be available to PlayStation 3 users. This will include up to 40 cars in high definition graphics and the ability to race up to 16 other people online. And with the Global Online Rankings there will be no doubting who the online Lewis Hamilton is. Rev up.

In a recent interview with Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, game creator Kazunori Yamuchi said that he was hoping to have it ready by next summer. Of course, he’s probably talking about the Japanese release – and as Eurogamer points out, previous GT games have taken three to four months to show up in Europe.
If you’re dying for some next generation GT racing before then, download the GTHD Concept which is available free from the Playstation Store. If you’ve already finished that, then you’ll have to wait for GT5: Prologue, coming later this year.
