This long-awaited game keeps looking better and better, with incredible graphics and detailing. The game has potential to become one of the biggest titles of next year, if the levels and the gameplay turn out to be as great as they’re shaping up to be. We’re looking forward to early 2009, when Killzone 2 will be available on PlayStation 3. Click through for more information on the badge system, and some images of multiplayer gaming.

As we sat in the darkened auditorium listening to David Reeves, Kaz Hirai and a host of other luminaries talk us through what to expect next for the PlayStation 3, PSP and PS2, reference was made to the most dramatic theatre of war yet to be experienced in gaming. This was a reference to Killzone 2. Judging by the trailer it’s a pretty fair description - have a look at these screens.

Xavier Marquis is a concept artist who has created artwork for the Killzone series. Xavier’s website hosts new artwork from Killzone 1, Killzone Liberation and the PS3 title Killzone 2.

The artwork is amazing and is definitely worth a look if you’re interested in the Killzones titles. Check out Xavier’s site for more imagery.

Every time we see new screenshots from Killzone 2, the game seems to look even more impressive. There are 14 new shots over at IGN that are taken from the E3 demo earlier this year, and should whet the appetite of any Killzone fan out there.
