With the recent games conferences being held across the pond, we’ve managed to locate some interesting new information on the PSN’s upcoming Fat Princess title.
“Gladiator” mode pits you against increasing waves of enemies as you play as a fully-leveled class. Whilst “The Legend of Fat Princess” is another single-player mode that uses the same template as the main multiplayer attraction, only with AI bots and a story that sheds some light over why you’re fighting over a cake-guzzling princess on a dessert-themed battleground.
We hear that the game is currently being tweaked to perfection and will be available when it’s ready, which is currently expected to be this summer.
As well as this, there is also a new video interview to show you, which gives SCEA producers Deborah Mars and Matt Morton the opportunity to excitedly chat about some of the key features of Fat Princess. Includes details on map use, classes and the extremely gorgeous art style that is on show…
Enjoy.

This game looks amazingly interesting, can’t wait to get my mits on it. Nice and original gameplay.

She’s not fat, she’s big-boned.

Interesting looking game, saw some multiplayer footage at the GDC and it looked like a lot of fun. If the price is right I’ll probably give this a look.
After the recent announcement that Sony will match the budget of indie developers in return for PSN exclusivity (basically giving them a win-win situation) there will probably be a lot more new and original games coming to PSN soon.
I think this is where PSN excels, and obviously Sony have cottoned onto that fact with this new deal. From the PixelJunk series to Flower to Fat Princess to The Last Guy to Everyday Shooter, the PSN is full of original and addictive games, which I would take any day over big corporate DLC shovelware or over priced retro titles and retro remakes (although there are exceptions to that rule).
