Its nice to see a trial of the 3-on-3 Hockey game - more of that please SCEE

Most of us would be heading for the DEMO section…
IF a DEMO section existed on the UK store that it.
Sure there is the LATEST section, but generally ,having to search via A to Z is not helpful

KICK ASSTICLES!
Comment by E-ROLE — Feb 5, 2009 @ 4:31 pm
Nice update. Is there not a free McLovin’ Sackboy available or is he part of the Valentine’s Day level kit?
Comment by FurryFreak — Feb 5, 2009 @ 4:33 pm
Level kit. The free deal is a NA-only thing (announced by the American PlayStation.Blog)
Comment by Shin-Ra — Feb 5, 2009 @ 4:40 pm
i think we have killed the killzone demo speed lol sooooo slowwwwwww
Comment by Syphon — Feb 5, 2009 @ 4:40 pm
WOOP I must have got in there quickly as mine has downloaded and I am now playing….. its rubbish tho don’t bother…….. JOKE
Comment by xxShadowsFallxx — Feb 5, 2009 @ 4:47 pm
Where’s Street Fighter???!!!!
Only joking, I’ll be too busy with KZ2 to worry about that for a week…
Comment by Robothamster — Feb 5, 2009 @ 4:49 pm
When are we going to see trials for arcade games? £7.99 for cuboid is a lot of money if I don’t like it. Xbox live arcade always has trial versions. It is little wonder I rarely buy anything on the PSN.
4 games on the PSN today but I cannot afford them all. So with lack of trials I will not be buying any.
Comment by becky — Feb 5, 2009 @ 4:55 pm
Well I’m sure I’ll enjoy the Killzone 2 demo, but nothing free for LBP is a kick in the unmentionables for Valentine’s Day, while NA are given a treat. Oh well, once me lad has recovered from that one I’m sure the wife and I will find something else to do. Whoever said the EU were treated like 2nd class citizens eh?
Comment by FurryFreak — Feb 5, 2009 @ 5:02 pm
two mistakes in your first line “Presumably most of you will be heading straight for the demo section of the story this week…”
There is no demo section - it got removed a long time ago.
Story -> Store
Comment by Pete — Feb 5, 2009 @ 5:11 pm

Comment by JohnSketch — Feb 5, 2009 @ 5:19 pm
is anyone elese download of killzone 2 demo going incredibly slowly compared to normal? or is it just me :3
Comment by Syphon — Feb 5, 2009 @ 5:21 pm
There IS a demo section of this new story though…
Cannot wait to get home and start downloading some of this little lot, notably KZ2, Lumines and the LBP pack (gf loves LBP - may try and cobble together something for her hehe)
VERY nice update this week
Comment by ozzit — Feb 5, 2009 @ 5:26 pm

Comment by ozzit — Feb 5, 2009 @ 5:27 pm

To Syphon, my download seems to be going at a good rate. Maybe it is your connection today?
Comment by becky — Feb 5, 2009 @ 5:28 pm

Comment by Syphon — Feb 5, 2009 @ 5:29 pm
I don’t know, Syphon, are you incredibly slow?
Yes, I’m 3% into the 1207Mb download. It has been going for 31 minutes now.

Yup… nowhere near than throughput due to distance from my local telephone exchange.
(The US citizens, who are our newest best buddies, however, won’t be having any trouble!)
Plus, after my download, I have two more PS3 consoles to perform the download on!
It’s now at 7%…

PS Home - Game Launching, Leaderboards, New Spaces & More
TSA has discovered some more details. It looks like home is going to be really shaping up into the service we were looking for and much more. It looks like they have something special cooking up for Valentines day.
* A proverbial boatload of game spaces - including spaces for Warhawk, SOCOM, Resistance, and many, many more (we’ll announce more spaces in the coming weeks)…
* Of course, you’re all aware of the EA Sports Complex. But let’s just say that is coming sooner rather than later. And it’s cooler than you imagined.
* These spaces will usher in the next phase of Home. They will begin to utilize this uber-powerful platform’s true capabilities. We’re talking unlocking items in the games you play from Home (and vice versa), mini-games that take full advantage of the Sixaxis controller, game launching integration. The whole shebang!
* We also have leaderboards. Huzzah!
* You can also count on tons of apartments and clubhouses that boast increasingly interactive environments. These spaces are freakin’ awesome. You’re going to love ‘em.
* Picture frames are coming back. We’re not giving a solid date at this time, but suffice to say you will have them very, very soon.
* You’ll have more music, more regularly. And, yes, there will be all different styles (this means that all of you rockers can rejoice!)
* You’ll have a bigger Theater, and it will be full of videos (and not just trailers either).
* You’ll be able to customize your avatar with more gear – and this stuff is hot. Oh, and there are tons of options for the girls as well. We’re not forgetting about you.
* And, to top it all off, we’re gonna be throwing tons of parties, contests, and other events in Home (including a special event to coincide with Valentine’s Day. It’s going to be a killer event). The prizes will be bigger and better than ever before. If you haven’t participated in anything we’ve done before, we’re sure you will now.

I’m stuck at 54% on the demo download since 4pm. I bet the Americans are creating bogus Euro accounts to get in on the action!
Comment by CartBlanche — Feb 5, 2009 @ 6:14 pm
No mention of Resident Evil 5 demo? Or is it not out in the UK store - it sure is in Netherlands… Was a “bit” surprised to see it since it hasn’t been trumpeted all over the internets.
In any case, this looks like a very promising update! Lumines, hockey and the cube game look great as well.

FarCry 2 Fortunes Pack - whats that? Is it the pack with the silenced shotgun or what? It’s not on the scandinavian store it seems but remember there was a pack to Far Cry 2 on the stores looong time ago.

Nice update, although I preferred it when the pound was strong against the dollar and we got games for £3.49 or £4.99. I just hit a psychological wall when I see games for £7.99 or £8.99, especially when there is no try before you buy.
Also disappointed that the ‘Party Pack’ for Burnout is £7.99! Yeah, I know they’ve given us a lot of free stuff, but I assumed the ‘patch’ that gave updated visuals and a few extra game modes was going to be free. I’m fine with paying for the new Island, and the Legendary Cars. But £7.99 for the Party Pack Patch is too steep IMO, if it couldn’t have been free then it should have been half that price at most…

Mirror’s Edge themes? Why? It’s old hat now. But if you haven’t played it yet - it’s a great piece of innovative gameplay.
Show me the KZ2! …Still downloading….*sigh*…
Comment by Aragorn1001 — Feb 6, 2009 @ 9:49 am
Hey SCEE, here’s a thing, us silly-mug-UK-2nd-largest-games-market-in-the-world lads and lasses are forking out a princely £29.99 for Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Bundle on the EU PS Store, whereas in the good ‘ol US of A, they’re paying $29.99?!
I know the exchange rate is pretty wounding atm, but frankly you’re taking the urine on this one.
