PlayStation is running a Europe-wide photography competition to capture the spirit of PlayStation. All you have to do is go to the competition website and upload an image which you think depicts the spirit of PlayStation. The highest rated images will make it onto the judges shortlist. Make sure you read the rules before you enter folks!
And the prizes?
If yours is one of the 111 most popular images you could be in the running for some pretty amazing prizes:
1 winner will recieve €1000 and a Sony D-SLR a350 camera…
10 runners up will receive €100…
100 third-place runners up will receive a game or game voucher from the PlayStation store…
Interesting, might just have to enter. I knew my skills would come in use one day!!!!

I get the feeling that any photo depicting the average gamer and their “spirit” would be immediately banned from the competition.
I’ve seen Sony Playstation adverts, and who they like to pretend their target market is. And it is not most of us!
And that’s assuming /we/ are the fairly normal, clean living ones!

there are quite a few photos there that have that staged lifestyle thing going on, you know, happy wholesome families shot in sure perfect frame and lighting.. bah. shenanigans!!
also, try using PSP in the photo description or tags and it hits you with -
“Sorry, you have used inappropriate language. Please try again”
a fail bordering on the epic kind there..

I think I may give up providing information for Lent.
I even posted my comment (from 5 days ago) a few times to make sure nobody missed out but, hey, better late than pregnant.
Talking of “Lent”, if we send our photos for this competition is this a way for Sony to “borrow” our handiwork for their “mammoth £4 million Q1 marketing assault” as reported at MCV(UK)?
Every penny counts. Even the bad ones.

@fp - “Of course, PlayStation is all about its community – and that’s why we’re asking you to judge the first round of the competition” that should read - ‘allow users to randomly flag photos that are better and more popular than yours and get them pulled off the site without question!’ anonymouse flagging of such things never amounts to fair play in such competitions.
