Even if you’re not an Arsenal fan you’ve got to admit this is pretty exciting stuff.
Soon, those Arsenal fans who go to watch a game at the Emirates stadium will be able to tune in on their PSPs and watch streaming of the match, with a delay of five seconds. This means that if you were to miss a goal, your PSP would be there to catch it. Game highlights can also be stored so you can show off both the game and your PSP to your friends and family afterwards.
So, what do all you think? Any similar tie-in ideas with the PSP that you would like to see?
I am an arsenal fan, and although it sounds like a good idea to some, I would have to say the big screens that are all around the stadium would probably be better suited to watch the replay of any the missed goal.
Cant really see the point but im sure someone will enjoy it.

if one thing’s going to get you mugged, it’s getting your PSP out in a crowd of football fans…
what i would really like to see is remote play being playable over public/work wi-fi systems, not the crunchy horrible horrible experience it is now, who can maintain a MINIMUM 256K upstream to their PSP anyways?? i has teh cable and even that struggles to hit that mark. works fine using my home router, just sucks a fat one in public, thus rendering the whole ‘remote play’ thing invalid

I’d like my PSP to hack into CCtv so I’m able to see and avoid traffic in oxford and find the best route out. That’l be pretty useful for sure.

@Manley…
You could probably not bother buying tickets to watch the game - sit outside and just steal the stream

Interesting.

@Manley, but what if you were desperate for the loo half way through the game? It would be useful to take the PSP to the bog with you to avoid missing any of the action. Keep your PSP well away from the line of fire at the urinal though.

Hmmm…. I wonder if the five second delay is enough to get around the TV Licensing rules concerning the need for the GBP 139.50 tax, sorry, license…

Do I need a TV Licence?
You must be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record television programmes as they’re being shown on TV. It makes no difference what equipment you use - whether it’s a laptop, PC, mobile phone, digital box, DVD recorder or a TV set - you still need a licence.
You do not need a TV Licence to view video clips on the internet, as long as what you are viewing is not being shown on TV at the same time as you are viewing it.
If you use a digital box with a hi-fi system, or another device that can only be used to produce sounds and can’t display TV programmes, and you don’t install or use any other TV receiving equipment, you don’t need a TV Licence.

The PSP is getting not one, but four newish colors — two of which have already seen release via Sony Computer Entertainment Asia.
On March 5, “Vibrant Blue” and “Radiant Red” PSP-3000s will be released in Japan and are priced at ¥19,800 (US$223). These same colors were released by Sony Computer Entertainment Asia on January.
On March 19, “Bright Yellow” and “Spirited Green” PSP-3000s will be released in Japan and are also priced at ¥19,800 ($223). Sony Computer Entertainment is also releasing PSP Carnival Colors Value Packs that are priced at ¥24,800 ($270) and come with the PSP hardware, Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2) 4GB, an AC adapter, a battery pack, a strap and matching pouch.

@johnsketch
lol, the way we are playing this season that would actually be a good idea.
@reakt
if you are likely to get mugged at a stadium (like tone said) then you can bet your last pound that it will be in the toilets.

Ridiculous.
Everyone knows not to show off their mobile phone/MP3 player/PSP in North London.

I’d like to see this expanded to other sports. Imagine being able to select which driver you wish to focus on, in a motorracing meet. Select an alternative view point like helmet cam. Rewind and replay controvercial moments.
Or…. not! I’m not likely to ever take a PSP (which I have yet to spank some cash on) to this sort of situation. However, I can see other possibilities, such as in flight video streaming, net access etc.
