So does this use the Riddick game engine or is it all CG? I’m guessing CG.
Comment by CartBlanche — Jan 22, 2009 @ 1:06 pm
Just from the video here, this looks really impressive.

I do ooooh so like the riddick series….
Butcher bay,
Pitch Black,
Dark Fury,
Chronicles…
More is NEVER a bad thing

Always intended to get Butcher Bay on the PC, but never got round to it. I’ve been anticipating this since it was announced as just a remake. I love the Riddick universe.
And I don’t believe it is CG. Just take a look at the screenshots released so far. That is the game engine baby!

@CBlanche
I believe, it’s real-time in engine, Starbreeze same guys that did the Darkness & the original Butcher Bay. Both of them looked not too shabby…
This is worth getting for the Butcher Bay remake alone…

Can’t believe the positive comments about this trailer!
The only well-rendered character is Riddick, and since Butcher bay was first-person it doesn’t matter if this is game engine or not- when you play you’re not going to see the Vin clone they spent months perfecting, but the other rushed, ugly, angular characters who look almost 2D.
I thought Butcher Bay made interesting use of stealth in first-person perspective, but the game felt rushed, and those early levels trudging around the prison yards felt broken.

No store update information yesterday???

@Chrisloxley
It’s not just the game engine and play-mechanics…think you’d find that the other half of what “makes” this game is the fact it’s the following:
“RIIIDDDDDDDDIIICCCKKK”
Comment by JohnSketch — Jan 23, 2009 @ 2:09 pm
This really does look quite similar to the alien/aliens universe and makes me think that a riddick versus aliens game would be even better!
