Playr, the leading video game TV show, has created a special half-hour programme dedicated exclusively to Killzone 2. There’s a sneak (standard definition) preview here, but we highly recommend you take a moment to watch it in all its HD glory, in order to get a true flavour of the Killzone 2 experience. Click here and then click the link that says ‘watch in HD’ just below the right hand corner of the video.
The episode filmed at Guerrilla Games’ HQ in Amsterdam presents a definitive and comprehensive guide to the highly anticipated PS3 shooter.
Featuring never before seen multiplayer maps, new single player campaign, brand new vehicles and game features such as automatic sentry turrets, and a complete illustration of the game’s 6 character classes, this programme is everything you want to know about the PS3’s killer shooter.
It also goes behind the scenes to reveal the technology and people behind what’s undoubtedly one of the most ambitious games ever made.
Producer Jason Kilshaw commented, “If you’re still unsure whether Killzone 2 is a GOTY contender, then watch this!”

Looks great, shame I dont have Sky
Also unfortunatly Killzone2 will be forgotten when it comes to goty as it’s so early on in the year. It would deffo stand a better chance if it was released in the summer.
still hope it wins tho..

Something that will get forgotten is “F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin”. Whatever possessed [did you see, maybe not, what I did there?] them to release this 2 weeks before “Killzone 2″?

Because releasing it when KZ2 comes out would be worse. End of the month is a good time to release big games as that is when everyone gets paid! Well those of us who might be gainfully employed.
So good move Sony with the KZ2 release.

Received from GAME.co.uk by e-mail today…
“As you may already be aware, the UK release date for SOCOM Confrontation with PS3 Wireless Headset has changed to Mar-2009″.

There’s also an insignificant title called “Halo Wars” out on the Xbox 360 on the same date, ‘tone.
“Silent Hill: Homecoming” (multi-platform) possibly.
“Tom Clancy’s HAWX” (multi-platform) maybe.
“Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop” [Wii].
I think I’ve seen the same date for “The Godfather 2″, “The Wheelman”, & “Prototype” [Xbox 360] too.

The “Apple Chicks” page makes me wonder what we could have achieved with a “Three Speech” calendar this year (like “The IT Crowd” Christmas Special entitled “Calendar Geeks”)
Then again, we want to attract people to Three Speech, so perhaps a set of twelve pictures of our favourite Video Game Lads & Ladettes would be a better idea

PS. I’m also thinking that the guys at Three Speech had probably wished they hadn’t pinned this blog entry before they went home because when they get back into the office tomorrow we’re all going to be in trouble!

Got both Killzone 2 & Halo Wars preordered. Gonna play Killzone first! Ensemble Studios were RTS gods, hope Halo Wars is a worthy swansong.
Very tempted to buy Aliens-CM & Fear 2 aswell, but opted to rent em first and get them cheap later. Sega Megadrive Collection I am going to rent just to double check everything runs at 60hz and there are options to turn any smoothing effects off. If yes to both that’s bought. Will play very nice on my Street Fighter IV fight pad me thinks.

Bravo is also on Virgin Cable… I watch Playr every week! It’s a cracking program!
I’ve got KZ2 on pre-order but don’t think I’ll get Halo Wars, I’ll wait for the demo to see if the controls are cack or not.
Not sure about FEAR2… the first scared the shite out of me… the demo for 2 made me jump more than I’d like to admit. I might get it for something else to play.. I could always trade in the bag o’ shite that is LOTR Conquest for it!
Also looking forward to House Of The Dead: Overkill…. bring on the horde!!

this is a bad idea! if theres 1 video games program in the world intent on knocking sony at every opportunity and sucking up to bill “i got billions n billions while u lot go homeless n hungry” gates and microshaft!
i can guarantee right here and now, that playr will say its mediocre and run of the mill!
even on the ps3 games review episodes it clearly shows 360 versions being played. they always say 360 games look better when to me, a 360s graphics look like shoddy 1980s special effects. my example being- whenever i see a screenshot of a game (say gears of war for arguments sake), the main characters (sprites) stand out on what seem to be pastel-like coloured backdrops. whereas ps3 screens always seem to have more depth, vibrancy and colour in backdrop graphics.
is it just me that sees this, or does any1 else here share my views?
and fanpages, plz desist with the “bfn FP” at the end of ur posts! we know its u cos it says underneath (and get to the point for gods sake instead of copying and pasting pages of text uv gotten from some website!)

Here’s another one…

@orgazzam:
A few things need to be clarified, “sprites” are 2d based pixels, think 8-16 bit technology. Even 2d games now are now mostly vector based. Sprites is totally the wrong terminology. Secondly you base all your opinions of a consoles graphics on screenshots? What I prefer to do, is see actual real-time gameplay in order to form a coherent opinion.
Having the pleasure of owning all 5 of the current consoles (including handhelds) I can pick and choose what titles I want for what platform I want. The majority of multiformat titles I do actually buy on 360. Purely for examples sake… Mirror’s Edge had PS3 as a lead platform, yet when compared to 360 version, it falls short. The 360 version had anti-alasing and a very slightly deeper contrast with shadows. However I found mid-level loading times very jarring. So guess what? I am going rent Mirror’s Edge for Ps3 and see for myself if it performs better. I “know” it looks worse, but if it runs better then that might sway me for which version I actually purchase.
If Playr TV says Killzone 2 is the worse game ever made in the history of interactive entertainment. So what? Will that have any long lasting effect on my own opinion? Er no… as the only way to gauge “my” reaction is to actually try it for myself.
Also while Mr. Gates is no longer the worlds top earner, or even working for Microsoft now. “Believe” he is still provides the worlds largest charity funding.
& finally Fanpages actually makes a contribution that is tangible. Rather than a childish mis-informed rant… Not naming any names…

…The only gaming audience not interested in “Killzone 2″ after that “Playr” programme will be all those who bought the ‘other’ console & are going to hate it on principle that they do not wish to admit their mistake.
Well done Guerrilla; not only for the game, the attention to detail, the devotion to your art, but also to the fact that you all presented yourselves as very talented & passionate professionals who were genuinely excited about how “Killzone 2” has been created.
I sincerely hope you are *very* well rewarded for your efforts.

watched the Playr KZ2 special, it was snowing so couldn’t go play on the trials bike, pretty impressed with it, nice to see you can create custom matches, so no camping snipers on my games -hah-! that’ll teach ‘em
the ‘bots look like they could be more than a match this time instead of cannon fodder to test your weapons out on. bit concerned about the ’scout’ class being able to pull that invisiblity trick though, i hope it doesn’t get abused. vehicles = good.
@ E-ROLE - i definitely think the calendar is something we should do. it’ll be a laugh if nothing else. if Reynholm Industries can do it us Three Speechers can do it too.
