Here you go folks. This is it…
Still not convinced? Unlikely, but on the off chance you need any more reason to get excited, check out Eurogamer’s review.
Thoughts on the intro please…

There is no way in HELL that I’m watching this! Not untill I have the game! Everything looks good and sounds good, so I dont want to spoil the game by watching the opening.
Why am I reminded of Greek mythology just now?

Spoiling the opening of the game with this video today & the rest of the game during the half an hour of TV on Sunday is almost as bad as releasing the Playable Demo a day before the full commercial release.
It’s as if Sony don’t want the game to sell.
Good job most of us see through their cunning plan to keep the game servers all to themselves on release day.

The intro is epic guys!
You know you want to peek…! It doesn’t give much away and the more I see it the better it gets lol. Can’t wait for the full HD experience in a month!

@ fp - “almost as bad as releasing the Playable Demo a day before the full commercial release”
as if SONY is stupid enough to do that! *smirks*

ah sod it, KZ2 - the ending, you end up pistol whipping Scolar Visari to death with the Magnum then proceed to teabag him ad-infinitum surrounded by a sea of dead Helghan soldiers piled ceiling high in the main palace while the screen fades to black in slo-mo during a spooky Helghan voiceover rambling on about it not being ‘the end’..
happy now?

Wow with a capital WOW!
I’m so looking forward to this game, even more so now! I hope the ending is as good as the intro!
And is that Brian Cox doing the voice acting? Always a bonus to get some quality actors in for the characters. It’s so easy to ruin a good game with rubbish voice acting!
If the rest of the game is as cinematic then this is the killer title the PS3 has been waiting for! Sony certainly seem to think so since they’ve plumbed £4M into a UK ad campaign - £2M of that just for KillZone 2!

No threespeech I am not impressed yet, because as your own title even states, this is an intro.
A pre-rendered intro which is not even close to an indication of what the actual gameplay is like.

I’m trying to avoid reading or watching anything about this til it arrives, I saw a video of the beta and fp said it was good, thats enough for me.
No hype=No dissapointment.. Infact maybe SCEE PR could use that in one of their ‘its best to be last’ soundbites.

The two things that are really getting on my wick with Killzone 1 (been playing through again) Is the AI, which by all accounts I don’t think I have to worry about with KZ2.
The second is the repetitive dialogue, the amount of times I have heard “We need support” “suck on this” & “That’s messy man” is frankly laughable. I hope in my heart of hearts that this is not going to be a concern in KZ2s single player campaign.
Apart from that I am very excited, as Sony need a solid exclusive Fps, and R2 never quite delivered for me…
& Haze was frankly a pile of dung with a cherry on top.
Have seen a fair few clips, but now I am starting to back off. I don’t want to risk getting too overeager. But think me playing KZ1 will make me very grateful when I do get my mitts on 2.

@ Ton Capone, actually it’s been reported multiple times that KillZone 2 contains NO CGI and that all the cutscenes, including this intro, are rendered in real time using the game engine.
Assuming these sources are correct, and I’ve no reason to doubt it as the graphics in the intro seem on a par with the graphics in some of the gameplay videos/screenshots, then the intro gives a very good idea of what the game will look like graphically (although obvisiously the cutscenes will benefit from a 3rd person cinematic perspective and maybe the odd lighting tweak - much like MGS4’s cutscenes which were also very close in quality to the actual gameplay sections).
So on that basis I’m not exactly sure what more it can do to make you impressed, or maybe you’re like some other people I know that will never be impressed until it has an Xbox 360 logo on the box!
In terms of ‘gameplay’ as in how the game plays, no video will give you that, you’ll only know what that’s like from the demo…
