Back (or Forward, as the case may be) to "Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix".

I've highlighted something amusing from an article on the Joystiq web site...

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix patch on the way

by Justin McElroy { Jan 28th 2009 at 2:22PM }

After typing Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix so many times, we finally swore to ourselves that we would never, ever buy the game. But those of you less familiar with digit strain should know that *** [HERE IT COMES] *** Capcom is working on a patch to eliminate any problems you may have encountered in your purchase. ***

Capcom isn't currently offering any hints as to what boo-boos it'll be bandaging, but we'd bet you'll see more than a couple of the problems on this fan-compiled list getting Tiger Uppercutted.

The list mentioned can be found here:

Go on, go & do your best moaning! :)

(Thanks 'tone)

As well as an Elvis jumpsuit Sackboy, how about a yellow & black zipped tracksuit so the Sackboys can dress as Bruce Lee (from "Game of Death") & the Sackgirls can be The Bride (Uma Thurman) from the "Kill Bill" movies.

:)

(The first costume that I could think of with a zip that wasn't anybody from The Sex Pistols, or Suzi Quatro)

@ darkos87 - the Muslim new year is down to them having a different calender too, like the Jewish new year running on the Hebrew calender, so the question still stands, why no costumes for those celebrations??

i have nothing against the chinese costume, it's pretty sweet, but to pick and choose what cultural celebration is more worthy of note than another could be construde as discrimination.

just saying, that's all...

Oh for the sake of a deity who may or may not be worshipped by one or many beings of any race, creed, colo[u]r, national origin, sex, political affiliation, or beliefs…

Yes, Chinese New Year is a celebration of an annual event that has nothing to do with religion. Nobody said it was a religious festival or event. I originally chose to ask the question about the absence of downloadable content celebrating religious beliefs in a blog entry about downloadable content for a perpetual occurence (if such a thing exists).

The Santa Costume, the Tree, and the Turkey are not necessarily religious images... but they were released in time for a religious festive.

As mobiletone mentioned, if you are celebrating an annual event in the Chinese calendar, why have costumes not been released for other annual events celebrated by different cultures across the LittleBIGPlanet?
You could even celebrate Barack Obama’s (first) inauguration as President of the United States with a new Buzz! Quiz TV pack download, if you were so inclined.

But hey... praying for anything in a New Year isn't going to get us anywhere in Europe...

SCEE blocks Street Fighter HD release due to 'faults and other problems'

by Andrew Yoon { Jan 27th 2009 at 6:15PM }

Go figure. Although American players have been able to enjoy Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for quite some time now, European PS3 owners have been left in the dark. We've heard the cries before: "blame Sony," they'd say.

thePSN.co.uk had a chat with Capcom UK's Leo Tan to find out why SCEE is denying release of the game. According to Tan, Capcom has already submitted the game to SCEE twice. However, SCEE is declining release of the game, noting "faults and other problems." Supposedly, the game must be "redone."

Capcom is working on yet another version to submit to SCEE "within three weeks." We find it quite strange that, in spite of a successful release in the US, Sony's European counterpart has become the sole roadblock in this game's worldwide release. Certainly, there must be some reason why they'd constantly delay this game.

There is nothing religious about Chinese new year, they just have a different calendar, and it's their version of the new year, plus their traditional clothes are really pretty, and MM did a really good job to render that ingame.

I don't understand how giving fans of the game new clothes for free is in any way related to the fact that their release date was pushed back to remove a song which would have offended part of their potential market.

(If that last comment was directed at me)

I'm not complaining about free costumes.

I'm just a little curious [some may say I'm more than that!] as to why Chinese New Year is represented but not celebrations from other nationalities (based on religious history, or otherwise).

I picked the latter half of December as that was most recent for many parties [no pun intended].

And, of course, because of the reason that LittleBIGPlanet missed the highly anticipated release date due to the sensitivity towards one particular religion.
