downloaded the HOME 1.03 update AND
the Store is borked, cannot connect!! (in any region)
and HOME server errors X80710092
and it keeps hanging on ‘initialising’
even Japan Store returns a 80710D23 error
how we say in these parts, EPIC FAIL!
thanks a facking bunch Sony

…and Version 1.03 of “PLAYSTATION® Home Beta” of course.
Care to guess which Free “LittleBIGPlanet” downloadable content will be most popular this week?
A Playable Demo of “Prince of Persia” would have be welcome, but maybe Ubisoft have decided not to bother, much like Crystal Dynamics chose not to make a demo of “Tomb Raider: Underworld” available for the PS3.
Still no sign of “Savage Moon” either.
And there was some mention of the “Resistance: Fall of Man” Map Packs being reduced to a no-cost option this week (or was that only on the US ‘Store)?
I guess we’ll find out later this evening.

Nice stuff
BUT……. Where is home?? :S
Comment by Mike Sweden — Dec 11, 2008 @ 6:24 pm
@3 ['tone]:
“Home” has been down since around 29 minutes past midnight this morning… I know ‘coz I was kicked out then!
The whole PlayStation Network is on a go-slow too.
It took me three attempts to log-in & a similar amount of goes at starting the “Store” icon.
Maybe not Sony’s fault.
Perhaps the Internet is broke?

fp.

I logged on to the store round about 5ish and grabbed the Free LBP Santa skin (which is marked Santa 2, my guess is Santa 1 will be the hat and beard?)
Tried to log on again to see if Home was up but as M-tone said its now borked, took 5-6 tries to even log into PSN then when trying to get on the store it just hangs on the waves background then “an error has occured”
As for Street Fighter HD, I really can’t wait any longer, been flicking through the Udon Street Fighter tribute book, and the artwork has just gave me the “itch” so I will be splashing out on the 360 version tonight…
D-pad be damned, two weeks is too long.
Might be on Home later tonight, if it works…

oh, and have Sony disbanded customer support?
i haven’t been able to contact them all week. i see
they have hidden the contact number on the site.
Comment by mobiletone — Dec 11, 2008 @ 6:39 pm
@fanpages - cannot connect to the LBP servers either.
the PSN is crashing hard!!
connection status if fine and so is web browser.
just deleted HOME from my console in protest
Comment by mobiletone — Dec 11, 2008 @ 6:44 pm
@Fanpages,
I actually looked at the RfoM1 Map packs when I logged on earlier and they were still charging for them then…
Comment by Mr.Monkey — Dec 11, 2008 @ 6:44 pm
wheres street fighter? whats with the delay on this game!
Comment by mark76 — Dec 11, 2008 @ 6:57 pm
No Street Fighter HD, no Soldner X, and no Power Up Forever. Sony Europe as usual, living in the past.
So is Home out today as promised?
Comment by Ataru — Dec 11, 2008 @ 6:57 pm
Crazy expensive price for Puzzle Quest too… So we get it long after it’s out on all other platforms and in the US for a way inflated price? Sounds about right.
Seriously… £15.99 does NOT equate to $14.99 That’s way way way the wrong way round.
Comment by Volvi — Dec 11, 2008 @ 7:09 pm
The Internetz Broke OH-Noes!
Comment by JohnSketch — Dec 11, 2008 @ 7:17 pm
Stores working again, but wheres Home?! How does a member of the public get on this public beta?
and yes it is still £2.99 for the R1 map-packs
@T3rr-rT!m3
Febuary is last date I heard, a patch for Socom (should) be out then and also there are some headset shortages…
Still not got my standalone from Amazon, 18th of December now…

HOME rants about errors etc on the official blog.
another classic Sony product launch.!
for those not getting the HOME icon, turn your PS3
off at the back, wait for 10 seconds reboot and connect
to the PSN, the icon should show up.
Comment by mobiletone — Dec 11, 2008 @ 10:21 pm
Soldner-X probably next week then, together with Crash Commando. Savage Moon confirmed for the week after. Hopefully Lumines during December as well, at least that’s what SCEE are currently saying here.

In fairness it’s not been a bad few weeks for EU PSN recently, with Astro Tripper (well worth 3 quid) this week and GTi Club last week. Shame D3 are ripping us off on Puzzle Quest, fortunately I played it on the PSP ages ago. Good game though.
Unfortunately it looks like a few problems must have been found with SF2THDR. Capcom just can’t seem to get the hang of the SCEE cert process. If I was them I’d wait until it had cleared cert in all regions before releasing it in any, but there you go.
Comment by tw33t3rz — Dec 11, 2008 @ 11:19 pm
Has Guitar Hero - Legend of rock been abandoned. We only got a few packs and most of those bands I didn’t know or care for… Why do I have to buy a whole new game to continue to get content…and there are 8 tracks released for world Tour in this update! LegEnds of Rock never had that many!
And on that note
Motor Storm 1 - No updates for ages
Warhawk - has been quiet for awhile
My point is classic popular games should continue to be updated like Counterstrike… it’s a classic and still gets the love
(I must admit SingStar is the exception… that’s updated quite often now)
And I also want SF2HD!!!!
So no downloads for me
Comment by jollygoodshow — Dec 11, 2008 @ 11:50 pm
Where is my HD Street Fighter?!
Three weeks now since it was up in the US PSN store and three weeks since it was in both the US and European X-Box Live Marketplaces.
Why does SCEE take so f-ing long to release games when they are already finished?
Comment by Mace — Dec 12, 2008 @ 6:54 am
Yeah i must admit i am very dissapointed there is no Street Fighter 2 again this week. I’m just hoping that it is going to be up next week so i can get to play it over x-mas with my friends. If it doesn’t appear though i dont think i’ll even bother with it, as Street Fighter 4 is so close now.
Comment by Shintu — Dec 12, 2008 @ 8:00 am
@jollygoodshow
I believe all tracks released for World Tour will work on GH3, just without the drums and lyrics. Probably worth double checking though
@Sony I quite fancy purchasing the street fighter outfits, but not for £5, bring them down to £2 and we have a deal
Comment by noboard — Dec 12, 2008 @ 9:09 am
Not bad, picked up Astro Tripper because it’s from a small studio charging a reasonable price - and they’re far more deserving of my cash than the big greedy studios that grossly overprice their DLC… Quite a fun/challenging retro little game too (and comes with Trophies lol).
But I’m afraid the update pales in comparison with the US update (check the US blog). And SCEE’s inability to to offer the same price promotions that SCEA do all the time is frankly unacceptable.
There’s lot’s of good free stuff on the US store this week though (including, as mentioned, stuff SCEE are still charging £2.99 for) so I’ll be dusting off my US account once again
Comment by Apnomis — Dec 12, 2008 @ 9:47 am
Meh! Nothing that special here for me. Nor on the US store. Waiting for Savage Moon, Soldner-X, Crash Commando, and for Home to open the new areas up.
Comment by LordOfRuin — Dec 12, 2008 @ 10:10 am
Hmm nothing much new for me. As for home I’ve not even bothered with it yet. I really hope it does not impact the PSN as a whole. Surely it would make better sesne to put Home on its own servers and leave the network alone.
Comment by Terry — Dec 12, 2008 @ 10:17 am
SF2 HD Remix, yadda, yadda, yadda. Zzzzzzzzzz
Comment by reakt — Dec 12, 2008 @ 11:52 am
Could you include price updates in your round up of store updates? I recommended WipeOutHD to my brother - he was a bit miffed that it is now 13.99 rather than the 11.99 I paid. Not sure when the price went up but if you forewarned us of price increases it may help sway the undecided! (I’m sure he would have bought it at 11.99 - even though it is probably worth 13.99 he does feel miffed at paying 2 quid more a couple of weeks later)

Puzzle Quest : Challenge of the Warlords.
Is this PsP only or will it work on Ps3? :O
