Here it is! Thoughts?
If you think you’ll be getting bored of watching the endless Christmas re-runs, playing board games with tipsy relatives and coming up with turkey-based meals, there’s no need to worry anymore. Science and technology news site PhysOrg has a good article on the Cluster Workshop project. When boredom sets in we suggest you give the article a read and then head over the the Cluster Workshop site and start building yourself a supercomputer out of your PlayStation 3. Alternatively you could always just play games on it… Up to you really…
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima recently gave an interview to 1up.
It’s almost over – the tumultuous 12 months that brought us some of the greatest PlayStation games ever made, along with enough shocks, slip-ups and turnarounds to compete with the average BBC phone-in voting scandal. Here’s all the best stuff, crammed into ten bite-sized memory nuggets. Simply retire to your most comfortable armchair and gorge on 2008…
The original game casts you in the role of a member of F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) and you are set against Alma, a supernatural, psychic (and frankly quite weird) little girl. It was a scare fest with amazing graphics and unbeatable thrills.
Of course, what with 2008 being almost over, it means that 2009 is almost upon us. So far it’s shaping up to be a vintage year for the PS3, with some really exceptional looking titles on the cards. We’ve got an article coming up which looks at the year to come but, once again, we want to know what game is at the top of your list for next year. If you think a title is missing, remember to make your case in the thread.
2008 is nearly over. It’s been a big year for the PlayStation, with lots of exciting games coming out, lots of developments to the firmware and lots of new features on the PSN. We’ve got an article coming up which explores some of the finer points of the year, but we want your opinions too, ’cause we love ya…
So, to start with, what was your favourite game of 2008?
The guys at Videogamer have put together an insightful review of Savage Moon, the new tower defence game on the PSN.
What’s the game about? Over to Videogamer… “You’re defending your moon base from alien insects, called Insectocytes. Thousands and thousands of the creepy, disturbing, disgusting, Insectocytes, who are all hell bent on worming their way towards your moon base and bringing it down in a soul-destroying boom. Think Starship Troopers spliced with PixelJunk Monsters and you’re halfway there.”
Check it out here
What do you think? Ready to defend your base from the alien menace?
Having realised we don’t have a favicon we’re looking into sorting one out. It probably won’t be as as good as this one, but if anybody out there has got any good ideas or designs send us an email and we’ll see what we can do.
