Yep, I was expecting this offer to be extended to Europe too, of course. Sony (and/or the developer) already make us europeans pay more for the game, pay more for the maps add-on (and they even went to the length of making the Variety Pack region locked so we couldn't decide to take advantage of the dollar/euro exchange rate, if we wanted too!) and then, once again, not only did the XBbox 360 owners got this offer 1 week in advance (in the US), we also remain stuck with a 10 Euros rip-off for something that should have been made free to the original COD4 owners!

Why don't they learn with the "Burnout Paradise" guys?! Great new content FOR FREE. That's the way to treat and respect someone that has already paid for their game!

I love playing COD4, but I just don't like these "Martyrdom" tactics...

I don't think I've read any reports of the offer being anywhere except the US, Ricardo.

I certainly didn't see the offer on the UK 'Store.

Just looked again now, and there is nothing listed, other than the "Variety Map Pack (Game Pack)" for GBP 6.99 (with the note: "To play this content you must be using Disc ID BLES500148").

"...new multiplayer maps... 'Creek'... 'Broadcast'... 'Chinatown'... 'Killhouse'..."

"HDTV screen resolution: 720p, 1080i, 1080p
Network Players 2-16"

Sorry if that is not what you were expecting.

BFN,

ARGH! Has anyone in Europe got the double XP weekend and Variety Map Pack at half price?

I could see that on the US store this went as promised, but I cound't see this happening on the European store (at least not on the Portuguese store)!

Is anyone trying, or indeed screwing the europeans again?!

Fracture is crap - the unique 'mechanic' allowing you to Terraform the ground only applies to specific areas of terrain.
Feels a lot like 'flip that switch/turn that valve' etc etc to proceed.
Weak.

This is ridiculous.
This update somehow does not apply to the Dutch PSN apperently, since there is NO Fracture Demo to be seen.

And there is STILL no Force Unleashed demo (Even though the game is out now).

Why ?

What is the reason that SCEE does not release those demo's in the Netherlands ? We are a part of Europe too.

One of my kids is currently playing the “Mercenaries 2: World in Flames(tm)” Demo from the US ‘Store (having flown across the pond & back again in the last 24 hours, obviously), and without him knowing I have the full version stil sealed out of view.

Our dialogue goes...

Mini-Me: "Can we buy the full version?"
Me: "Don't you want to play something else?"
Mini-Me: "Yes, this again... I need to find my team mates"
Me: "But why does the rocket launcher on your back disappear when you are on the Sports Bike or climbing up a ladder?"
Mini-Me: "Dunno... it just does".

I then turn to my PC to type the above, and he has quit the demo & loaded up "NBA Live 09" (also from the US 'Store).

He then turns to me knowing I was waiting to play "Burnout Paradise" (with the newly installed "Davis" patch), and says... "Dad, I wish we had more than one PS3, so I could play on one, & you could play on another".

Um, yes, that may mean I get a 'go' on *my* PS3 from time-to-time, yes.

[Sigh]

It appears "Mercenaries 2..." is a kids game for those with the attention span of the fifteen minute demo mission & those who do not question why objects being carried disappear when they are too cumbersome to animate.

Why release the Rock Band export key when there's no release date for Rock Band 2 in the UK, and when there is it's going to be some time after the X360 release, making that software useless for at *least* a month?

@Monkey - Yes, I know the difference. My mistake. Anyway, I'm going to invent a new genre - second-person shooter. All the action is seen through the eyes of the person getting shot at. It'll be super difficult to play.
