Who loves our little friend, Sackboy? Three Speech certainly does, and we can’t wait to dress him up and send him out on an adventure around LittleBigPlanet. That’s why we were so excited to find out about what will be up for download on Day One!
Click through for the images and let us know the costumes you’d like to see…

I will give a cryptic clue to my choice…

I was a big fan of Jas Mann & his “The Boy With the X-Ray Eyes” album… but then he got way too big for his space boots & sacked all of his band.
His follow-up album, “King Kong Groover”, had nowhere near the critical success of the debut album (or any of his past compositions whilst in The Sandkings), but it did spawn the somewhat apt single track, “All The Money’s Gone”.
The latest “currently in production” album, “Cold Clockwork Doll”, has been three years in the making so far. Draw your own conclusions from that.
Anyway, back to the thread…
“Mario Mario” Sackboy anyone?

Brilliant design, only problem would be Nintendo breaking your legs and making your gran homeless through legal fees =(

I used to tell people I was related to Jas Mann…
(same surname)
I liked “boy with the x-ray eyes” as a single back in the day, just saw the pic and the song spaceman just popped into my head…
and FP that mario sackboy is quite close to the bone

Let’s be fair Jas Mann can sing ALL the notes. He even once made a spherical song. And he also answers YES to the question ‘Jas Mann - Genius?’.

Did anybody manage to snag a promotion voucher code for the beta release of “LittleBigPlanet” that Eurogamer were offering earlier today?
I missed the stampede by hours, and all that was left was this web page update about how there were no longer any “keys” available…
[ http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=243270 ]
Seems a bit odd to release a beta test version now given that the title was heavily touted as “going gold” last week.
I suspect that these are just limited functionality pre-release versions to test the eventual public playable demo.

I managed to get a ‘beta’ code last night after almost wearing my f5 key out while Eurogamer collapsed under the strain. I shall let you know my thoughts on it after I get the ruddy day job out of the way (damn responsibilities), might not get a look in tomorrow as my time will be wipe-d-out.
Comment by marvzilla — Sep 24, 2008 @ 9:08 am
The Eurogamer “SOCOM: Confrontation” beta ‘key’ giveaway was just as popular.
According to the Media Molecule blog…
“…Also, since it’s a beta, it’s already quite an old build. We have some cool new stuff that’s been in our private test for a few days, I won’t give it all away but there are things cooking such as 5-star ratings, (much) better performance and less lagginess, better online stability, better UI for publishing, faster downloads…. so in a way playing this version is simultaneously exciting and an odd throwback to a couple of weeks ago.”
PS. marvzilla - As I don’t have any work presently, why don’t we do a swap… I’ll get paid & you can sit at home playing “LittleBigPlanet”?
Alternatively, yes, please do let me (us) know your thoughts when you have the chance.
BFN,
fp.

@fp - I’d love to swap you, I’ve got a stinking cold (read: manflu) and would like nothing more than to be sat at home drinking a littlebiglemsip while someone else did my work.. (dying here could be handy for tomorrow though I could be too wipedout for work)

Fortunately, Sony blessed me with a promotional redemption code this afternoon (by e-mail) so I will give the beta version a look when I’ve finished scouring the various job sites this afternoon.
Good call about developing symptoms a day before “WipEout HD” is released… it just adds credibility for your absence… as long as nobody at your premises reads Three Speech too, of course!
Get Well Soon, buddy.

fp.
