		<description>"War As Seen Through The Lens"

[ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-odAncq8bI ]

"Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising" E3 Presentation by Clive Lindop, Senior Designer &#38; Lead AI Designer, demonstrates the "in-game heads" &#38; "attention to detail" with the various weapons interface systems on offer (70 in total) to complement the 50 vehicle types modelled &#38; integrated within the game.

The interior of the Special Forces UH-60 "Black Hawk" helicopter is very impressive.

Due for release in "Spring 2009", this is looking like a title that any gaming fan should take note of.

		<description>FYI: One of the comments on the article at TimesOnline:

Lifelike animation heralds new era for computer games
'Emily' will set a new precedent for photo-realistic characters in video games and films, says her creator, Image Metrics

[ technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/tech_and_web/article4557935.ece ]

"Now we wont be able to trust the "eyewitnesses" on the news anymore :(

David, leicester, United Kingdom"

Like you can anyway! :)

And to think this technology will set a precedent.

No way! George W. Bush is much less lifelike ;)

		<description>@4 [terrortime] &#38; @7 [Aragorn1001]:

Thanks for the confirmation (of the worst) about "Facebreaker".

I don't think I'll bother buying this (for now), given your reservations as well as the few reviews I've read recently:

[ gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/944712.asp ]...

"Edge Magazine UK"... 3 out of 10
"PlayStation: Official Mag (US)"... 3.5 out of 10
"Playstation Official Magazine UK"... 4 out of 10

Pity... I had high hopes for this :(

(Maybe the Wii version, "FaceBreaker K.O. Party", will score better when it is released)

@5 [adairdevil}:

I posted to the blog entry here at Three Speech this week...

[ threespeech.com/blog/2008/07/socom-confrontation-bluetooth-headset ]

It is not just the US who are getting the headset... Japan are too!

(And yes, still no confirmation of availability in Europe... plus every other BlueTooth headset works ‘out of the box’, but the official one needs a firmware update to support all the features!)

@9 [Mr. Monkey]:

Thanks for the URL.

After I clicked the "watch in high quality" link, I downloaded the resultant 6.37Mb mp4 file to find that it was recorded in 480 x 270 pixels.

I wonder if there is a 'better high' quality version available... will post a link here if I find one.
