Erm, is it me, or has there been a distinct downturn in the quality of songs made available? Yes, before you shoot me down, I realize that there are people out there who have started dribbling at the above songs!
But for a “game” that should encompass many people, the songs available for download seem, erm, lack-lustre! Looking back at the disc releases for the PS2, there seemed to be more songs on there that everyone recognized (or at least had heard of). I can’t speak for Bollywood or the R&B discs, but there was at least 5 songs on each of the other disc’s that friends and family would be quite happy to have a go at. Looking at tomorrow’s releases, they would be hard pushed to bother with any of them!

PS screw the Benelux for again not doing anything
releasing 10 songs or so in 3 years span is simply crap,
but than again in the same release-schedule of the normal SCEE.

Anmyone know if there’s plans to let EU have access to US store? I’m sure I’ve seen community videos where the American gamers are singing different songs to those available to us in the UK?!
I understand the need for a diverse number of tracks available for download, but I’d be greatful for more rock and more 80’s! Keep us interested and we’ll buy!!

why doesnt the Singstar team try and make the brand as strong as other Music based games.
Simply implement a channel system aka Buzz Quiz TV! and create brands within the game for each genre… then they will get the chance of approaching established and buzzworthy artists because they will have proved that there brands are strong enough to pull in the same people that go to the shows, but the cds and t-shirts… bands such as Guns N’ Roses and The Who got into the idea of Rock Band and its financial benefits…
so either the financial gain structure isnt up to par with the other music games or there brand is trying to hard to encapsulate the whole musical spectrum and therefore lacking in a connection with the people who love the music… I’m sure if they tried to go this route more artists would be intrested in taking part and more labels would communicate more freely…

@11 [sig]:
Didn’t Roger Daltrey say “Rock Band” bored him though?

That’s one way to endorse a product… not.

@6 - I remember reading (on here I think) that the licensing between disc and digital downloads are different (thanks again to the odd people running the music biz.)
I do think it’s time for a revamp though. The only difference between the PS2 & PS3 versions of this game is the store. I don’t believe any HD content is available yet, either?
Look at LIPS on 360, with it’s option to plug in any old mp3 player. That would be cool, and only cement the PS3 as a true media centre.
