I assume that “OutKast, Hey Ya!” is for the people who bought Singstar Vol. 2 and don’t own Vol. 1?

Is this the EU store update?
Comment by Hloep — Jul 8, 2008 @ 6:06 pm
ThreeSpeech. You must be really optimistic by keeping that WipeOut logo on there…
Over & Out.

When are they going to add some Maddona, Kylie or Celine?
Comment by james — Jul 8, 2008 @ 6:19 pm
Right, so by the looks of things, the songs on Singstar Vol.2 are not going to be on the Store, which is bad news for people like me who bought Vol.1 when it 1st came out. Yet, if you have Vol.2, the songs from Vol.1 are appearing on the store for you to download. This is incredibly frustrating, seen as Vol.2 has a better song line-up than Vol.1. Why are you putting us through this Sony?!
Comment by THL — Jul 8, 2008 @ 10:01 pm
What the heck? What a crappy list of songs. This could be a great product if there were more and better songs available. Where’s the 80’s music?
Comment by nihilan — Jul 8, 2008 @ 10:55 pm
Zed Zee - Wipeout hasn’t ever been given a release date, except Q2 2008. That goes up to… last month oh wait never mind.

Comment by Ds — Jul 9, 2008 @ 9:21 am
@11 Mr Jimmy,

Comment by carl — Jul 9, 2008 @ 10:57 am
@11 [Mr Jimmy]:
The Ting Tings are still promoting their latest single (”Shut Up & Let Me Go”) & their latter [re-]release (”That’s Not My Name”) is still available to buy so making either of these available for download would mean a loss of revenue. “Great DJ” is still good to exercise your vocal chords, but being in limited supply initially (as a Double-A side with the original “That’s Not My Name”), and just over 12 months old, means no revenue will be lost as you would be hard pushed to find it for sale now anyway.
@12 [Ds]
Wireless microphones? Still ‘coming soon’…

@fp,
good answer, my kid sings “thats not my name” quite enough without this anyway…
Wipeout: maybe 1up are right with that, unfortunately carl probably has it right. Sony will surely give Fatal Inertia a few weeks minimum on PSN without Wipeout as competition, stands to reason unfortunately.
I don’t need Fatal Inertia, I’ll wait..
Comment by Mr Jimmy — Jul 9, 2008 @ 12:43 pm
Just so you know guys, The Ting Tings track: ‘That’s not my name’ is on the UK store already! It was released in the last Singstar update

@16 [DanG] (If that *is* your name, or perhaps a euphemism for when you hit your thumb with a hammer)
Thanks. No wonder the track didn’t stay at number one in the hit parade for long!
Or maybe it was something to do with Madonna & Justin Timberlake?
I wonder if Madonna has a Chart entry planned for her 50th birthday anniversary (on 16 August this year)? Maybe even a SingStar track or two?…

Re: Wipeout. I reckon it’s definitely out this month. We’ll surely find out the exact release date when E3 starts (14th July).
Comment by reakt — Jul 10, 2008 @ 8:54 am
@19 [reakt]:
It’ll probably be one of those “…and another thing…” announcements.
A journalist will be primed to ask “When is it going to be available on the PlayStation Store?” and the Sony speaker will say “…it already is”.
Cue thunderous applause & everybody will forget how late it is.

17 July, 2008
Sony Europe boss David Reeves has told Eurogamer to expect “the next generation of SingStar” at [the Leipzig - fp.] Games Convention.
We were speaking to Reeves at an event in Santa Monica today and asked for his views on Microsoft’s new karaoke game Lips.
“If you come to Leipzig, you will see the next generation of SingStar,” he told us. “That’s all I will say.”
And it really was, even when we coaxed him to say something more dramatic about what a massive rip-off - albeit an impressive one - iNiS’ upcoming Xbox 360 singing game seems to be.
SingStar, we heard at Sony’s E3 conference on Tuesday, has now sold more than 15 million units worldwide, with nearly 2 million songs downloaded via the PS3 versions.
[The Leipzig - fp.] Games Convention is just over a month away, so tune in then to find out what Sony has in store.
