1. “echochrome” next week (not this week as planned), and where is “Elefunk” the game, not the Themes or Wallpapers?

   Presumably you do not need firmware revision 2.40 to access the ‘Store (as this also had an upgrade with the new firmware).

    just when i thought that things were on the way up!

    this monday i was greeted to a great bit of news about update 2.40, and dual shock. i was thinking that maybe SCEE had started to get their thumbs from their asses and do some work.

    then today it all came crumbling down, no update, no echochrome, no wipeout, no elefunk, and no nothing worth raising an eyebrow to!

    but on the good side i have a week off from work next week!

18. Has there been any word yet as to why Sony pulled the 2.40 update? And why so many people are gleefully pointing out that they’ve already downloaded a potentially miss-coded firmware update? I’ve seen a few forum threads around the internets with people claiming that the XMB doesn’t work properly, that the in-game music doesn’t work at all and in some cases that the firmware caused their console to “brick it”.

19. They’d have been better off getting the update correct instead of shoveling out this load of drivel.
    They’d also be better off answering why we cannot trade in our sixaxis controllers and get dualshock 3 at a massive discount or even free seeing as it was Sony’s fault we all splashed out on extra crap sixaxis’ as they told us rumble was “last gen”.

    PS.Blog has released a post (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/07/02/firmware-v240-status/) with some information. They pulled the update because people were having problems installing it. For those who got the update installed it appears to be working just fine. I was able to update my 60Gb model nice and quick and currently have like 9 trophies.

    They also pulled down the Super Stardust HD expansion. I didn’t get it Wednesday morning because I was to lazy to put more money on my Wallet, and when I went to get it last night it wasn’t there any more.

24. To be fair, I fully expected this week’s update to be a little on the slim side due to the 2.40 firmware being rolled out.

    I am delighted that there’s extra levels for R6V2, it’s an astoundingly good game & if Ubisoft want to keep breathing life into it then I commend them. Especially having now inspected Konami’s business model for MGS Online, now that’s going to add up in the long run!

    Here’s to Echochrome, Elefunk and WipEout’s imminent arrival!

    Good luck with that. It’s not there yet, at least not for me. Neither is the Buzz packages… But maybe they decided it was not enough to annoy all of Europe in one go and that us danes need some extra wait for stuff. Seems like something SCEE might be thinking is a good idea.

    There is a demo on the US ‘Store (available from 26 June 2008), so it will probably be served to Europe once Wimbledon has finished.

    Oddly it is called “Top Spin 3 Official Demo (Playable Demo)”… I’m not sure if an unofficial demo is likely to be released!?!
