I’m afraid I wasn’t “blown away” by it when I watched it (it’s now on PSN). The in-game action is a bit of a let-down when compared to the pre-rendered footage of the earlier Pacific Ridge trailer.

@1
i agree but its still early!
also i would say that it does not seem to look as nice as the first motorstorm.

Where is all the split-screen footage??
Comment by senocular — Jul 16, 2008 @ 12:09 pm
split screen is in the game, that’s all i need to know, its hardly the best way to show off the game in a trailer.
The part in the middle with the bumper view of the car landing in/by the river is just awesome.

the water effects are awesome, and WOW at that big jump at 0:08
day 1 buy for me.

This looks very good… what are some of you on about?
Nice variety in the terrain.
I hope they sort out the handling of vehicles, especially the bikes and quads around banked corners. Always seemed a bit wrong to me.

Man this has me pumped… off to play the original again now =D
Comment by Hilkers — Jul 16, 2008 @ 4:37 pm
looks alright, won’t be rushing out to buy it though.
Comment by mobiletone — Jul 16, 2008 @ 6:47 pm
not a big deal.

It looks interesting.
The graphics are very good when they are well lit, but in the shadowy/darker parts, there is definitely some work to be done. (to me it’s the difference between seeing vehicles racing, and seeing 3d models with some textures.)
The right amount of dirt/dust/mud/remains of other racers applied to the vehicles could easily fix that.

It is one of the best looking games on any system. Not to mention the best upcoming off road racing game due to the variety and mayhem. Anyone who thinks it looks average needs their head or their eyesight checked. Either that or they are just trolling. Splitscreen will be the icing on the cake. Day one for me.

Meh.
Too much barren volcanic island crap and not enough lush foliage. I hope that we’ll see more of the jungle next time.

Speaking of racers, Wipeout HD will be delayed due to technical issues and hopefully will be out “by the end of this year” according to David Reeves. Threespeech, don’t you think this news deserves a post?
