Here’s some as yet unseen gameplay footage of Killzone 2, one of the most exciting upcoming games on the PlayStation 3. Make sure you turn it up loud!

Extremely underwhelming, dark, dreary and nothing like the original footage we all remember.
Much like the original title, very disappointing.

Looking better, I’m a bit dissapointed with Character models, hopefully they will turn out better.
Also I hope you make the Hellghast a bit more frightening, they look a bit toned down.

You obviously didn’t play the original Killzone Arthur considering there were multiple levels set in the mountains, jungle, mall and a space station.

Actually I did play the first through to completion, and I’m fully aware of the varied levels. If you read my comment correctly you’ll notice that I never made any reference to the original title’s levels.
“Much like the original title, very disappointing.”
This means that taking into consideration that the first title brought nothing new to the genre and was in fact a big disappointment to myself and countless others - this footage promises a title of equal disappointment.

wtf now its a smash and go on killzone “dark and dreary” wtf is it suppose to be bright and colorful outside where people hole their hands together. War shouldn’t be depict that way and glamorized much like halo is. Its a war torn planet for god sake or at least thats what the developers are trying to portray.

@ badger, the explosions look weak as hell! why would they bother making the characters and maps look so good, yet completely fail on making the effects as much of a priority. i mean come on the little bang from the tank rounds.????!!! i’ve lit farts that produce a bigger bang than that!
this had better get sorted as its the kinda thing that will put people off the game

Looks boring. Other than good graphics, whats new?
Tank battles, machine guns and old industrial ruins. I’ve seen it a trillion times before.
It has no more than two colors, grey and orange(fire)
Why should I buy this GAME? I’m not gonna buy a game for good graphics, I could see a movie instead, why should I want to play this game?

Come on, are you telling me you want to be depressed by a dark dreary game illustrating some sort of social repression? Halo never depicted war as being a glorious time with “hand holding”. If you really love the idea of a boring dark war game then hey, you’ve come to the right place - it’s just not the game for me, it’ll be just as depressing as manhunt.

LOOKS great, but in all the videos I’ve seen the enemies run right near you, but never acknowledge your presence. That bugs me a lot. Are they not going to shoot at you unless you are far away? Is the AI really that bad? I’m telling you what I think so hopefully that will get some attention.

if that’s out in Feb 09 i’ll eat one of my socks.
looks very cliche though, but doesn’t everything these days.? there’s only soo many FPS a person can take in a year.
i’ll be buying it though, the first two games were fun.
and yes. we want BLOOD!! Bad Company was lacking it that department too, at least give us the option to turn it off if we want, not deny it from us totally

Graphics look great. Those complaining about colour… go play Mario or something, jeez. It looks gritty and war-like, as it is meant to. Besides, let’s wait to see what other levels there are. Critisising the game’s colour palette when no-one here has seen the whole game… jeez.
Explosions look great too - can’t believe someone said they look poor.
AI issues and ‘just another FPS’ comments I cannot argue with
Lets not expect the second coming and I’m sure it’ll be solid.

Microsoft’s conference presentation was yesterday (14 July) at 10am (Pacific), so they updated Xbox Live with all the content after relaying to the press representatives.
As Sony are presenting today (11:30am Pacific; with Nintendo before them at 9am Pacific), I wouldn’t expect to see anything Sony (exclusive)-specific until at least late afternoon (as Pacific time is 7 hours behind the UK).
Tuesday is the typical ‘Store update day for Japan; so maybe check there first.

I was kind of pointing out that Live can manage to update simultaneously worldwide, (as always)
But its just the fact that SCEA has put stuff out “before” tonight, and SCEE had not bothered…
Also the banner ads on US store reads
“DOWNOAD E3 CONTENT NOW”
felt like a slap in the face
thats what put the “Hulk” in me this afternoon…

Technically it looks good, smooth framerates, impressive explosions and textures but the dreary grey industrial environments are a big letdown. I want some colour and variety, that is what made COD4 so good
