We told you a while back about Facebreaker, the new boxing title from EA. Featuring arcade style gameplay and cartoon-like graphics the game looks like it could be a lot of fun.
A new batch of screen shots have been released and they’re looking very good. Check the rest of them here.

I feel all Roger Rabbit about this - if it delivers good comic timing I could be tempted

Must-buy for me, despite being from EA… anyone know if its developed by ea or an outside studio?

That screenshot looks excellent! Almost CGI like in it’s quality. I wonder how much of it is touched up?

In my two decades of gaming I’ve never played a boxing game. Quite fancy this, though - it looks like a hoot; a veritable pugilistic pantomime. Can’t wait!

@4:
If you can, try Super Punch Out. In my mind the only boxing game that was genuinely fun!
This looks pretty nice but, as with all boxing games, the control is the only crucial component. If it controls badly (like 99% of boxing games) then it will suck

Why won’t you let us have High Velocity Bowling? It doesn’t take half a year to multi-region any title let alone a small PSN download. Many of us don’t want brainless and pointless crap like Pain and Facebreaker.
Europe has given Sony more PS3 love than even Japan but you still insist on screwing us over. No doubt when you do finally release it to us we’ll have to pay more than twice as much as the US do too……..
You are lucky to have such loyal PS users in the continent of Sony disappointment.

Yeah this looks like a new Punch Out! game. Liking what I’m seeing so far. I hope it’s full of offensive racial stereotypes!

If your talking about Mike Tysons Punch out from the NES i doubt the gameplay is anything like that, as much fun as it was it was just a Simon Game with a boxing theme, i assume this will be a cartoony over the top version of fight night, coming from EA an all that.

3 playable characters and EA Game Face support. 360 and PS3.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com at a press event taking place at EA’s UK headquarters in Guildford, EA has confirmed that a demo of Facebreaker for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will arrive on July 31.
The demo will include three playable characters (Ice, Sparrow and Steve), two arenas (Booty Caves and Trailer Park) and allow matches of one 90-second round. You’ll be able to play against an AI opponent or a second human player - there’s no online support in the demo. Although only one round there will be an option to have a rematch.
Also included in the demo is a practice mode and the ability to use EA’s Game Face technology. By uploading your own photo you’ll be able to map your own face onto one of the three existing characters (in the final game you’ll be able to create a completely original custom character).
Facebreaker is due for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 5.

I’m looking forward to this title, having a demo in advance (although what you would expect if you are a Microsoft platform owner, but not necessarily) on the PS3 is a welcome bonus!
BFN,
fp.
