Ferrari F40… Split-screen racing.. tuning..
oh .. my …
This just went from the *pass* list to the *want* list.
though to be on the *cut wrists if not able to play list* i second a previous threespeechers request for a Audi 90q20v, though I have the same amount of hope this car will ever make it to GT5.
Comment by xtc — Mar 6, 2008 @ 3:52 pm
Now that’s quite an improvement over the Japanese version. Excellent news! Did I read right though, splitscreen? Fantastic!
Comment by cr8ck3r5 — Mar 6, 2008 @ 3:53 pm
Well, for £17.99 sound like a good bargain with the added extras.
Only thing missing is the Photo Mode, which the Japanese version doesn’t have either and was just hoping this would have been added by now.
Also, no update to how the online settings work. I was hoping for custom races and not just racing against anyone that you happen to get online with.
Where is the Friends invite option??
GT5p is good fun, but somethings are really annoying still. One being the annoying Tyre Screeches all sounding exactly the same, and even screeching at low speeds, when even my Car doesn’t do that on some of the sharp bends I have been around at the same speeds.
I just hope there are some improvements in these areas to come, or at least in the Final GT5.

Wow, this makes a change from all those “it’s just a demo” posts a few weeks ago… If this is what’s planned for this so called demo, then the so called full game is going to be off the planet! Anyone out there that still thinks this doesn’t merit being called a full game…?
Can’t wait for this one.

Ok, great will get this…
But is there damage in this version of the game? If not are they still claiming that GT is the “real driving sim”? I think someone may need to define the term real to sony.

Ahem… “split screen mode” - are you reading this, Mr Burnout Paradise?
Comment by rooee — Mar 6, 2008 @ 4:59 pm
Wow, am very glad I didn’t import this in the end! Quite a sizeable improvement over the Jap version and by not importing I have the download option available instead of the disk.
Well done Sony for getting Europe something a bit special for once, long may it continue

Do I get a pair of GT5p briefs with the pack too, cos I need them. Nothing but great news on this post. Woo hoo. Now then, sorry if I’ve missed it anywhere, but has anyone see whether we can include custom soundtrack playlists on this? Wipeout has it, is seems only fair that the same tech be shared to other devs to make the PS3 environment a heart warmingly wonderful place to be.
@ Rooee, Burnout streams the map around you, so having two players locally would require faster read access than the PS3’s bluray can support. Now, give me the option to install on my system, (yes please), and perhaps that little feat could be accomplished.
Barely related, so possibly off topic, but a good friend of mine made a suggestion about why I’m a lefty mushroom user when it comes to FPS’s, and I thought I’d share it with you. He suggested that because I wasn’t a FPS fan for many years, and was a racing game fan, that perhaps my poor ol’ brain was wired for steering (looking) on the left mushroom and acceleration etc (motion) on the right. I looked at him dumbfounded for a moment, thinking that perhaps he’s right. Mmm!
Anyway, time for a Warhawk battle (after changing my undies following the rather special GT5p news we’ve just read).
Cheers peeps!

If you want a great wheel with a gear stick get a Logitech G25. I use it for PC games and it works with the PS3 (USB)

I know this is a very big demo but its still exactly that and when GT5 does come out they will be reselling this content again. I just don’t see the point of this Prologue business. give us a demo yes, but charge us 17.99… Will people who buy prologue get a reduction on the price of the final game?
I’m off to australia for four months on monday so i’m going to miss all thia anyhow, i’m gutted.
Comment by Terry — Mar 7, 2008 @ 10:07 am
WHAT’s NEW??
GT4 looked good, so does this, but I feel like I’m buying the same game. I miss damages and less computerized engine sound!
Comment by Mlyh — Mar 7, 2008 @ 11:55 am
It’s not a demo but it is a rush release of the game.
Digital Polyphony don’t like releasing Prologues; Sony forces them to do so. Simple as that.
They’ve admitted as much in interviews in the past. I think I read one when Concept was being released for the PS2 - I think it was in Official PS2 Mag. They didn’t seem to like the idea and they would prefer to wait until the full game was finished.
Sony is in desperate need of killer apps and they think they can achieve that somewhat with a Prologue release. I think it kind of dilutes the full game when it comes out…Now I ask you, when the full GT5 is released, who on earth is going to bother buy it?!
Only a few hard-core enthusiasts will bother because the ’standard’ gamer would’ve moved on from GT5 altogether…They’d have MGS4 or something else to get their teeth into by then, so I seriously doubt many would bother with the full release, unless they don’t buy this rushed release, that is.
