Three Speech would like to say a big welcome to our newest recruit to the team, Keri Allan. And also welcome you to the first of Three Speech’s new regular columns where we’ll give you an insight into how game characters were created, how they’ve evolved and what we think of them. Disagree with our top trump rating? Well let us know! We begin with the PS3’s first pin-up girl, Heavenly Sword’s Nariko…
She may be called a ‘Hell-Whore’ by the baddies, but we’ll take that as a complement, thanks! Sword-wielding warrior Nariko kicks ass and looks cool doing it, but how did writer and co-story designer Rhianna Pratchett turn her into a fully fledged character, rather than just a hot chick with a big sword?

Our winner, Drew Forster.
The final of the nationwide GT5P competition took place last night, deep down in a carpark at London’s Marble Arch, and the winner, we are happy to say, was one of our users, Drew Forster from the HMV Edinburgh heat (PSN moniker bicycleshorts, if you fancy a race). Second place went to Gavin Dempster with Christian Chapman coming in a very respectable third.

Lots of coverage in the press, both online and in print, as to whether game ratings need an overhaul.
So we ask…
(Any keen radio listeners hear our very own Steve Boxer on the BBC or LBC stations by the way?)

Three Speech user, commmunity member and young-un Tom Eccles gets his dirty mits on the Everybody’s Golf for a quick round.
EVERYBODY’S GOLF: WORLD TOUR PREVIEW
The first next generation entry from the Everybody’s Golf team hits stores across Europe today – so in case you’re still sitting on the fence before you part with your hard earned cash wondering if the game is for you, here’s a preview to knock you out of the sandy bunker and onto the clear green.
Clap Hanz’s Everybody’s Golf series (also known as ‘Hot Shots Golf’ in North America and Japan) has always been renowned for its light take on golf, with cheesy anime style characters and cartoon animation, while giving more advanced users the functionality set to make it a fully fledged golf game – and this addition to the series certainly carries on the trend. Pretty much anybody can pick up the game to instantly start playing, and begin hurling perfect shots at full strength down the fairway after a few minutes – which is great, as you don’t get the frustration of failing everything first time round. On the other side however, you have a complex system of calculations to take into account. The use of advanced techniques such as topspin or backspin really broaden your options, while keeping the game simple and accessible to all – the beauty of Everybody’s Golf.

Also in the comments on the other thread but a statement from Sony for you all.
‘Unfortunately due to some last minute technical difficulties, we were unable to publish the new content to the PS Store yesterday. We are working to resolve these issues and will let you know as soon as new content is posted.’
