Hehe, so much for the killzone hype machine.

MGS is gonna be awesome
Comment by Lean_go — Feb 4, 2008 @ 4:28 pm
Too hard to choose, theres just so many I want. Ended up picking GTA IV.
Comment by Ajay — Feb 4, 2008 @ 4:28 pm
No Socom Confrontations?
Comment by Bradley Manning (BradleyUK — Feb 4, 2008 @ 4:52 pm
I’m surprised Buzz made the list over Socom, but I am looking forward to it. Hopefully it has DLC, which is why I’m not getting it for PS2. I voted for MGS4 though.
Comment by Nash — Feb 4, 2008 @ 5:01 pm
I voted GTA IV, but actually I am also very much looking forward to Dualshock 3, and Singstar with wireless mics (any news on this anyone?)
Comment by John — Feb 4, 2008 @ 5:04 pm
To Ajay’s point, a poll like this doesn’t exactly give justice to people being hyped about all of them.
How about changing the way you poll to be, say, pick three, or rank in order of preference. That way you’ll get a better sense of what people are really thinking.
Comment by Mikael — Feb 4, 2008 @ 5:07 pm
Ah, I’d have liked a three tiered voting system. 1st would be KillZone2 (I want that so bad), 2nd GranTurismo5 (not prologue, I’ll be buying, but only cos the full release ain’t out yet), 3rd Grand Theft Auto 5.
I can’t wait for my future votes to be rendered meaningless by the mass of ill informed or incorrect votes.
Ha ha ha!
Comment by LordOfRuin — Feb 4, 2008 @ 5:21 pm
Wish I would read through my post before I post, to check for messy clicks and fat finger typing. Oh well!
Comment by LordOfRuin — Feb 4, 2008 @ 5:24 pm
Voted for LBP, but looking forward to the following. And anything by team ICO. And Socom.
Resistance 2
LittleBigPlanet
Home
Killzone 2
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
Grand Theft Auto IV
Metal Gear Solid 4
Comment by BlueGene — Feb 4, 2008 @ 6:09 pm
option for next voting:
a) 1 store world wide
b) weekly worldwide same releases
c) same prices for content worldwide
Comment by terrortime — Feb 4, 2008 @ 7:02 pm
Was close for me between GTA IV and Little Big Planet, but i can’t wait for Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Home and Gran Turismo 5
Comment by sam_w — Feb 4, 2008 @ 7:11 pm
Why isn’t White Knight Story on here ?
Just kidding. Little Big Planet is actually going to do well, from what I’ve noticed and heard. But for me Metal Gear Solid 4 is my most anticipated.
Comment by Airkiru — Feb 4, 2008 @ 7:20 pm
MGS4 hands down! LBA is my oppurtunity cost followed by WKS, DMC4(tommorrow!),KZ 2, Star Wars Unleashed as trade offs.
Comment by Wisdom Wanderer — Feb 4, 2008 @ 7:47 pm
oooh so many!…but i opted for killzone 2 (im a sucker for the 1st one’s online….still!)
Comment by sedaripper1973 — Feb 4, 2008 @ 8:08 pm
LittleBigPlanet. It’s the only thing on there that isn’t a rehash and/or won’t be done better elsewhere.
Comment by Matt — Feb 4, 2008 @ 9:54 pm
Tough decision to pick just one, I’m looking forward to most on that list and quite a few that aren’t listed (Resi Evil 5, Motorstorm 2, FFXIII etc)
Nice feature though…
Comment by Apnomis — Feb 4, 2008 @ 9:54 pm
dmc4?
Comment by scott — Feb 4, 2008 @ 10:26 pm
I think FFXIII isn’t listed because it isn’t coming out in 08… But Motorstorm 2 had better, with split-screen this time grr
Comment by Geoff — Feb 5, 2008 @ 12:15 am
I voted for Home, whilst in itself it is not particularly exciting its potential to bring out the best in all the others listed is what I am looking forward to.
Comment by geowarrior — Feb 5, 2008 @ 12:34 am
@8
If you want a Dual Shock 3 I recommend importing through yesasia. It is only £30 with free delivery and it is bound to be at least that much on release here anyway, so why wait?
Comment by TheShirts — Feb 5, 2008 @ 8:33 am
COME ON YOU RESISTANCE 2!!!
lol
Comment by grestovski07 — Feb 5, 2008 @ 8:50 am
I voted for wipeout HD, a series that I’m a die hard fan of. I’m sick of waiting for it. Thinking of getting my thrills elsewhere…. Ace combat and Moto GP!
Comment by cenTripEtAl — Feb 5, 2008 @ 9:44 am
It has to be Killzone 2!
Loved the first one for it’s gameplay and atmosphere. Sequel will be the best fps (if not the best game) of 2008 !!
Comment by SAiLO — Feb 5, 2008 @ 10:11 am
MGS4. Not even a competition (as great as the others look)
Comment by Johnny Sasaki — Feb 5, 2008 @ 10:23 am
Firstly, I’d like to say that I utterly concur with #13, on what the next poll ought to cover - and that I share your joy, TS, in having this line of feedback/ranking in place - but, yes, I’d like to see a poll regarding the EU Playstation Store.
Moving on to the subject covered by this poll; I voted LiitleBigPlanet, because I think there’s extraordinary potential there, for fun and creativity. I also like the strong way that Media Molecule are using, and presenting the online aspect. I think this’ll be well worth the wait. Killzone 2 feels like too much of an unknown quantity - there’s practically nothing current about it, anywhere
- so I’m not including it, despite being a fan of the series. Tomb Raider: Underworld (read the previews) follows closely behind LBP in my anticipation, on PS3, with Home in the third position - can we see a bit more of this Spring launch product in action, please?
I’m a bit surprised that there’s no mention for UT3 in there, has COD4 grasped an insurmountable hold on PS3 multi, like Halo 3 had on 360?
Comment by GleeDemon — Feb 5, 2008 @ 10:29 am
I’m looking forward for Sony to stop stiffing European gamers with extortionate pricing on everything, in contrast with other territories.
Comment by Zed Zee — Feb 5, 2008 @ 11:45 am
RESIDENT EVIL!!!!
Youve not mentioned it!!!
Comment by Terry — Feb 5, 2008 @ 12:42 pm
Theres should be more than 1 options cos i was tied between 4 different options.
Comment by Deaf_Raiders — Feb 5, 2008 @ 12:53 pm
Voted for LBP but also looking forward to Infamous and Wipeout HD. This year has great potential for PS3, let’s hope there aren’t any more delays.
Comment by uber1337 — Feb 5, 2008 @ 1:15 pm
Has to be LBP for me. It’s the one game, ever since those GDC videos that I’ve been looking forward too, and with the latest trailers, its looking better and better.
Can’t wait to try it out.
As for the other games, there are some great games to come, and looking forward to those too, but LBP is definitely the must have for 2008 for me.
Comment by Capeview — Feb 5, 2008 @ 1:28 pm
@TheShirts
Because
1) Importing it is more effort than I can be bothered to put in
2) Unlike lots of people here I have the patience to wait.
3) I don’t have a problem with paying whatever they will cost here, evne if it’s more.
4) I like to be able to be able to return things to a shop if needed
5) And most importantly importing it almost certainly breaks the user agreement that we agreed to with Sony when updating the firmware. Again unlike many people here I have a problem with breaking contracts.
Comment by John — Feb 5, 2008 @ 1:33 pm
Importing is more effort?
HOW?!
You fingers, because you have to type the different address? lol.
Breaks the user agreement? How? even bigger LOL.
Comment by SAiLO — Feb 5, 2008 @ 1:45 pm
Don’t want to seem like a complete pessimist(sp?) but shouldn’t we have a poll on how many of these we think will actually come out this year…. i say 3 out of 10.
Comment by cenTripEtAl — Feb 5, 2008 @ 2:18 pm
How about having a vote evey time the store is updated. Then we can see to what degree we all think how pish it was.
Comment by Ton Capone — Feb 5, 2008 @ 2:33 pm
Yeah, I put GTA IV but dualshock 3 and Play TV are also going to be super-duper.
Comment by Tom — Feb 5, 2008 @ 3:57 pm
@SAiLO
Well I haven’t read it through in a while, but it certainly forbids downloading content from stores other than your own, so I imagine it’s not much different on importing physical disks. I know generally they aren’t too keen on grey imports.
Comment by John — Feb 5, 2008 @ 4:15 pm
sorry I meant accessories not disks, but that too
Comment by John — Feb 5, 2008 @ 4:16 pm
Then they should co-ordinate their releases better IF they don’t want to create that kind of market. Been using my DS3 for a month now - thanks to YesAsia at a resonable £30.97.
Otherwise feel free and get stiffed 40 notes when it eventually makes it to the UK. Suckers.
Comment by Blue Gene — Feb 5, 2008 @ 4:25 pm
Man if you didn’t pick MGS4 you people have problems
Comment by Kum0 — Feb 5, 2008 @ 5:07 pm
got my DS3 from a UK retailer for 29.99, if England didn’t have such rip off prices generally there would be no need for an import scene. somethings you can’t buy here anyway even if you wanted too, like the sony branded crystal faceplate, go!cam etc for my psp slim.
looking forwards to GTA IV, i have no trouble paying full wack for that game, the only other games i paid UK prices for are Oblivion and Warhawk.
nice to see Home only getting 9% despite the constant hype. i would guess most people who wanted stuff like Prologue or Unreal Tourny have already bought them on import.
Comment by mobiletone — Feb 5, 2008 @ 7:10 pm
It was between GTAIV and MGS4.
I was looking forward to MGS4 that much more, just because its the conclusion, but my hand slipped and ticked GTA instead..
Comment by Reza — Feb 6, 2008 @ 1:45 am
@ John
They may not be keen but I am if that means:
1) I am going to pay less money
2) Will have the game/accesory months before EU release
3) Never heard about ANYONE who got an imported game and got punished for it. Think about it - money goes to Sony’s pocket anyway.
Any more arguments ?
Comment by SAiLO — Feb 6, 2008 @ 10:31 am
@SAiLO
1) I don’t care about the money, if I was trying to save money I wouldn’t have bought a PS3
2) I can happily wait
3) Just because you probably won’t be punished doesn’t mean you should do something. If I agree to a contract I don’t intend to break it, otherwise I would never have agreed to the user agreement in the first place.
Comment by John — Feb 6, 2008 @ 3:27 pm
Just imagine you could get into a time machine and pick one game to bring back. I saw littlebigplanet and MGS4 discs, and I picked up the MGS4 disc and ran.
Comment by Fung — Feb 8, 2008 @ 6:43 am
MGS4 here. I cant wait for that awesome game! GIMME GIMME!
