Not bad update but where is the bowling game? I really want to play that!! I just hope over the next few months delays between regions becomes a thing of the past.

Wow the store is getting updated earlier and earlier in the day. Once upon a time it was after I got home from Work, now its during work.. FFS.
Still this is forcing me to use the ermote play feature but I forgot to turn it on lol.
Still this is all good and I am not complaining…. nice to be able to play Everybodys Golf in english.. the jap one can finally go.
PAIN and bowling are slow to come to the UK but Ive had them for a while now and loved the xmas characters in PAIN.
PAIN does become boring tho so dont sweat your losses folks. Bowling is very good youll love it when it comes.

Yay! Riff!
Yay! Patapon Demo!
Yay! FFVII: CC Trailer
Ya…wha? Any reason the Wipeout Pulse Mirage pack (4.99€) is more expensive than the Icaras pack (3.99€)?
From what I can see, both of them have:
- 1 new team
- 2 new tracks
One of the Icaras Pack’s new tracks is also playable in Zone mode (don’t know about the Mirage pack), so if that pack has more features, why is Mirage more expensive? better ship maybe (8/10 on all stats)?

Is “waterhouse” suppoesed to be “WaterHorse”?

Don’t forget today is Valentine’s day, so those of us who have a missus will need to postpone Everyday Shooter until tomorrow, or risk sleeping on the couch…

Everyday Shooter, Everybody’s Golf and Patapon demo. Best update ever
Comment by uber1337 — Feb 14, 2008 @ 4:18 pm
Not bad at all.
ThreeSpeech, is there any chance we could get info on the US store too in these posts? I’m sure I’m not the only one with a US account as well.
Comment by TheShirts — Feb 14, 2008 @ 4:23 pm
TheShirts, most of the time they have trouble figuring out whats on their own store.
Comment by anon — Feb 14, 2008 @ 4:31 pm
WOW nice update sony, for once. I am going to turn on my PS3 for the first time in two weeks.
Comment by sarge mat — Feb 14, 2008 @ 4:44 pm
@ TheShirts - Can’t really do that but nice idea.
Comment by Three Speech — Feb 14, 2008 @ 4:51 pm
@7
Check out the sidebar on the right where it says “Playstation Blog”, there will be a link to US content appear there, usually somewhen this evening (they’re behind remember)
Comment by Terry — Feb 14, 2008 @ 5:06 pm
@TheShirts
completely unnecessary when there are links to the US Playstation Blog on this site. look right.
Comment by Accordion — Feb 14, 2008 @ 5:06 pm
Worth the wait
Comment by Sean — Feb 14, 2008 @ 5:26 pm
Grrrrr valentines day commitments means I’ll probably not get chance to check out all this great new stuff until tomorrow
Comment by reakt — Feb 14, 2008 @ 5:58 pm
“Ya…wha? Any reason the Wipeout Pulse Mirage pack (4.99€) is more expensive than the Icaras pack (3.99€)?”
Because they didn’t sell enough at the old price. Personally, given how stingy the packs are compared to the *free* Wipeout Pure packs, I’m not buying until you can get all four packs for less than £5.
Comment by Chris Scott — Feb 14, 2008 @ 6:12 pm
Sorry, first sentence should have been “Because they didn’t sell enough at the old price?”. Didn’t mean it to sound like a fact rather than speculation!
Comment by Chris Scott — Feb 14, 2008 @ 6:13 pm
No complaints.. Great update, better than US too!
Keep it up Sony, hoping for Pain soon….
Comment by Mal — Feb 14, 2008 @ 7:22 pm
RIFF, an english PATAPON demo and those free shoulder trigger buttons for my j-pad in PSM3 magazine.
happy days.
those trigger things are really comfortable too.
be interesting t see how the PS3 verson of Everybodys Golf compares to the PSP version.
and does anyone know what is ‘updated’ about the ski game file. i’m pretty loathed to download such a bad game again.
Comment by mobiletone — Feb 14, 2008 @ 7:38 pm
Great to see we got the Patapon demo the same time as in the US. Looks like some people might be listening afterall! Still need to catch up with the US though with other games!
Comment by Daniel — Feb 14, 2008 @ 11:17 pm
@20 whatever it is it can’t be much worse
Comment by John — Feb 15, 2008 @ 12:27 am
we all need to catch up with Japan for PS1 classics as well as certain PSN titles like GT5P…
Comment by Josh — Feb 15, 2008 @ 5:40 am
Everybody’s Golf is even better than before, I don’t even need to think aboout buying this when it comes out. I’m even starting to get used to the new “advanced” controls, only putting seems harder
Comment by John — Feb 15, 2008 @ 7:57 am
Hooray! An update with some content!
I was not actually going to download Riff:ES but since Bowling or Pain aren’t out yet I did so in desperation of new content (maybe that’s SCEE’s master plan?!).
I must say I was pleasantly surprised, it’s a simple but very effective game, and even though I’m not a great lover of guitar the musical emenies and background music work surprisingly well. It’s actually really addictive, and trying to work out how to do chains in each level keeps it fresh and interesting.
Also Everybody Golf rocks! I’ve never played this game before in my life and I’m not really a big fan of cutesy Japanese games. But it’s so much fun! The Advanced shot mode is probably the best implementation of the classic two-click golf swing I’ve ever seen, miles more fun than the Tiger Woods demo. I’d actually consider buying this game now!
One decent game and one decent demo a week, that’s not much to ask is it? Next week Pain? The week after Bowling? Let’s see if they can’t make February the best update month so far!
Comment by Apnomis — Feb 15, 2008 @ 9:43 am
Just to clarify i meant i don’t have to think whether i should buy it, it’s a must have.
Comment by John — Feb 15, 2008 @ 10:32 am
@25 On wikipedia it says 06 March for the Pain release in Europe. I don’t know where that date came from though!
Comment by reakt — Feb 15, 2008 @ 1:26 pm
Downloaded Riff and… well… not sure what all the fuss is about. It’s fun, sure, but hardly the life-changing experience the hype would have you believe. Maybe my ears just don’t agree with jangly guitars. Super Stardust HD is better, IMO, but then you might as well buy both because they cost peanuts.
Comment by rooee — Feb 15, 2008 @ 2:24 pm
WAKE UP TS, news on ps3 XMB. leaked info on ingame messaging! get a move on
Comment by E-ROLE — Feb 15, 2008 @ 2:56 pm
@rooee (28) I guess the fuss with Riff: Everyday Shooter is that its a testimony of videogames as a form of art. Something that’s simple, efficient, beautiful to the ear and to the eye, and that makes you feel your taking part in it is actually meaningful… It gives back everything you toss at it, transformed into something beautiful. I spent a few good minutes just moving through the menus because it felt like my option-setting rythm was already part of the game, I created music setting my screen’s size and aspect ratio. There’s no story and no set objective except surviving through the end of the level and making points, but there’s definitely a sense of immersion and multi-faceted interactiveness… You don’t just move and shoot, you compose and paint while you do it, and that makes all the difference with Super Stardust HD (which is a massively amusing shooter in a more stereotypical kind of way)
Comment by Inzoum — Feb 15, 2008 @ 3:00 pm
@ E-ROLE - Not able to comment on that one. Sounds good though doesn’t it. They listen you know.
Comment by Three Speech — Feb 15, 2008 @ 3:16 pm
@Inzoum…
Wel, that’s a very eloquent response, so I will give it another go.
Speaking of music-driven games: I recommend Audiosurf, which is available through Steam.

I’m getting tired of waiting for HV Bowling. But the Patapon demo is better than I dared to hope….
Would be interested to see the results of a “Is Patapon as good as you hoped?” poll once the game is released.
Comment by CortezTheKiller — Feb 16, 2008 @ 2:22 pm
How do we get the feel ski update? Its not in the store and isn’t there when the game starts and automatically checks for updates?
