Gaming videos: fame and fortune awaits!
There’s a video revolution hitting the internet, and expert gamers are at the very epicentre, earning themselves attention, credibility and even job offers.
The very best thumb-bandits have long enjoyed showing off their skills through video clips posted online, but a new wave of creative editors and joypad-wielding experts are turning idle boasts into a true cinematic artform.
Popular gamers like Killzonemaniac, SolarKhan and EclipsejpX began making game videos for fun, but soon discovered a passion for editing.
Killzonemaniac told us: “What drove me to start making videos was my love for Killzone. I wanted to show that it is an epic game, and one that can match up to Halo.
“That soon changed though, and now I’m constantly putting more pressure on myself to make better quality videos, using professional tools from Adobe and Sony.
There’s a lot of respect among most video creators, although there’s also rivalry to see who can make the best video.”

The PixelJunk series from Q-Games so far is made up of two games, PixelJunk Racers and the brilliant PixelJunk Monsters. These rather fine titles are about to be joined by a third, PixelJunk Eden, which looks very exciting indeed. With highly stylised visuals and an impressive soundtrack, the game looks like it will be a winner.
Even though the third title isn’t even finished yet, a fourth title is planned under the name PixelJunk Dungeons. It’s said to be a top-down dungeon crawler, but beyond that little else is know about this title right now. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear anything new.

Blu-ray has won the format war over HD-DVD, according to the BBC.
In today’s news broadcast the BBC reporter says: “It looks as if Toshiba has lost this format war. It’s rapidly losing the support of retailers and movie studios, and the end appears nigh.”
Thanks to Andronix at www.PlayThree.net for the video.

Apparently the game has been so well recieved that Q-Games, the developers, are set to expand the title. A fan emailed Q-Games to ask about future plans and received the following reply: “Thanks for the mail! We are really enjoying the feedback from people about Monsters, it seems to have really hit a sweet spot. There should be some news about an expansion pack over the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled.”
So, no actual details are known right now but as soon as we hear anything we’ll let you know.
