Quite nice, though sparse. I wanna graffiti the walls. Ha ha! Only kidding! Yeah, can’t wait for this to arrive. Dunno how much I’ll use it, but if this can take the place of the PSN, then it’s brill. Wander in, see what’s new, choose you’re new content, carry on, and when I exit Home, my new content is ready for me.
@ 3
Hell yea, i wanna graffiti walls. hope there is that ability in home, altough i highly doubt it. Hope sony do include a creativity side to the project, maybe a tie in with LBP?????
Like I said many times before, nothing, wait 3 months, release some 3 month old videos, wait more, nothing, wait more, oh well, the thrill is gone, the endless letdowns I can no longer handle, when you release it, I will be first in line, until then, forget it.

I believe these are conceptual rather than screenshots.
I’m really looking forward to the ’spaces’ they keep talking about …. i hope games companies do something really interesting with them … events etc … that would be so cool, imagine live gigs at the ’skate’ space or stuff like that
This looks like fun, even if it does have that pristine, eerie, dead-eyed quality of The Sims. Personally, I reckon Sony’s priority should be to improve the online functionality of the PS3 before trying to get everyone all excited about this… in-game XMB springs to mind.
@16:
Separate departments work on separate things though so it’s not like they can just take peope off the home project and put them on updates.
I have heard that getting XMB in-game is far from easy because of the way the OS works at a fundamental level. Of course if SCEE would actually communicate with us, and explain this in some detail, we might get off their backs about it.
@ 20 - well, for the in-game XMB, sounds funny that they should have problems since there is videos on YouTube showing it is working on pre-release machines.
Yeh the service will be free, but if you want to buy a virtual chair to put in your house it’ll probably cost about £50 and dont ask how much it will cost when a “virtual lighbulb” blows.
Face it, there is no release date I bet this wont be out until the end of this year at the earliest.
Well yes, it has been delayed, but so has GTA, and the new features added to that seem to be worth the wait.
My opinion is that the screen shots do look pretty good graphically (*wonders what it’ll be like on his SD TV*), but it’s not showing off all that Home has to offer. I personally liked the screenshots showing people standing around TV screens, though I’ve heard there’s a cinema, so that would be interesting to see. I can imagine someone being noisy on a mike during the films though
Does anyone actually know anyone who has been part of the closed beta. For me things have been far too quiet on the Home front to get me interested in this. To me it almost sounds like waiting for GT on the PSP - lots of screenshots and promises but no closer to the truth.
Meh. I wish Sony would focus on the actual problems with their network instead of reinventing the wheel with Second Li–er–”@ Home”.
Seriously–Sony has problems with basic connectivity in some games, spammers/team killers/punks in others, and no one uses the voice option for games, even in Warhawk, where the game came with a freakin’ headset (retail.)
I guess the old adage still applies–you get what you pay for, and since we don’t pay squat for the PlayStation “Network”…
I was sent an email telling me i was on it, i think i registered on a site to sign up, can’t see sony just giving out invites to anyone on a list of ps3 owners though because they could be wasting time sending the invite out to people who aren’t interested and depriving those that are.
@32 Matt, seriously, what is there to say while playing a game? all i hear when i turn the sound up on the head set is a load of kids acting like retards, swearing and making racist/homophobic remarks.
the same group i expect that will ruin Home for most so the decent user just won’t bother with it.
O M G SOLD, LET ME HAVE IT

Rumour is that Home has a version of High Velocity Bowling. That would be great given that SCEE refuses to give us EU gamers the PSN game…..
And SCEE, when are you going to start promoting Patapon? Three weeks to go and even my local GAME store don’t know what it is.
Comment by Steve — Feb 2, 2008 @ 1:00 pm
Pic 3 sums up SCEE by the way, “a complete unordered mess which I have no idea is still holding together….”

They are screenshots. Doesn’t that just increase the awesomeness?

@Matt - I wish people wouldnt use their headsets in COD4, They’re unbelievably annoying.
As for Home, looks interesting but can’t really get excited about it.

From what I can see so far, theirs been a significant improvement no doubt. But aside from what we can see via pictures how well has it been improved?
Comment by Airkiru — Feb 4, 2008 @ 7:17 pm
@ ThreeSpeech:
So how would someone get on the beta test programme for Home then?
I’m not a PS3 owner (not convinced yet), but I’m sure many owners would love the chance.
Just wondered…
