MotorStorm, unquestionably one of the most fun online games, gets two new track packs this Thursday, called Eagle’s Nest and Diamondback (good name!). Both tracks arrive in High Definition and are compatible with all vehicle classes, in all online modes and retail for a very reasonable £3.49.

Can you handle the MotorStorm Double Track Pack?
Race the Eagles’s Nest and the Diamondback Speedway this January
This January, MotorStorm™ – the ultimate in full-throttle, off-road racing action for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) – gets even better with the release of two brand-new racetracks to download from PLAYSTATION®Store.
The Double Track pack features two very different white-knuckle, high-speed circuits: the cliff-hanging Eagle’s Nest and the stomach-lurching Diamondback Speedway. Both tracks are brought to you in stunning High Definition for a truly eye-opening race experience and both are compatible with all vehicle classes in all online modes including Time Attack and Eliminator. Here’s what you get – and remember that there are no rules of the road in MotorStorm…
Eagle’s Nest: mayhem in the clouds
Welcome to the Eagle’s Nest – a high-altitude track perched precariously on a remote mesa. It’s fast, tight and brutal – and the slightest wrong move can send you careering over the edge. Of course, this means all the more opportunity to send your rivals in the same direction. The stakes are high and so are the cliffs – have you got the nerves for it?
Diamondback Speedway: a racetrack with a bite
Who needs a purpose-built racetrack when you’ve got the natural desert amphitheatre of Yei Bichei – MotorStorm’s answer to a speedway circuit? The track’s banked corners mean that this track is all about speed – the tactics that’ll get you to the finish first involve putting your foot to the floor and holding on tight. Will you survive the deadly Diamondback tunnel and the infamous Sinkhole?
As the MotorStorm faithful know, the dirtier you race, the better you’ll do. Forget fair play; it’ll be all about playing dirty when the Double Track Pack launches on January 10th.
Nice!
Might get this - not so fussed about all the vehicle packs that are out now, gimme more tracks and I’m a happy man

Hmmm, any news on price? I just don’t play motorstom much any more but this might be enough to get me back into it if it’s cheap enough.
Also, are there going to be any offline races or are these strictly online tracks.

To be honest motorstorm was just one of those games released for the PS3 that i was never fussed about.

The support this games continues to get with extra content is staggering i really hope Sony continue this trend with other online games as although X-Box gets extra stuff i cant think of a game that has had this much quality content.
As with all the other content for this game i will be purchasing on Thursday.

No split-screen mode?
I thought they said they’d add it - oh well maybe motorstorm 2 (although saying that if they’re too busy making other tracks won’t that delay the release of a sequel??)

Great to see these two tracks released together but I assume from the press release that they are multi-player/time attack only? No new mini festival mentioned so I guess no racing single player (though I guess there might be new packs in the future that would include these tracks in festivals).

Motorstorm is old news now. I saw on un-named website (Play), that GT5 Prologue will be 39.99. how can this be justified I know its a huge demo but am I the only one who doesnt see the point in shelling out for this only to buy the full game and have this content already included. i’ve never understood this Prologue business it just seems like a cash in to me.

More free paint-jobs! I’m getting tired of the big pink truck.

Well, I can say that you’re not the only one. I agree with your opinion, Terry, on GT5 Prologue; in that it seems frankly ridiculous to me as well, in that they appear to be charging full RRP for a preview disc! (of the sort that media outlets receive for free, to hype products.)
I know I’ve the option not to buy (which I fully intend to exercise) but I don’t think this is a practice that should be encouraged to take root in acceptance.

I’d understand if say for example Prologue came with say a £20 voucher off the final product. Without it your basically going to be spending about £80-£100 for this game…

I picked up GT 4 prologue for PS2 for around twenty quid when that came out which was basically half the price of the full game. But that I seem to recall allowed you to complete all your licences on that before importing them into the final game so hopefully GT 5 prologue will allow something similar. And because I hadn’t actually finished doing my licences by the time the full game came out, I waited until I had done and was then able to pick up the full game later on at a cheaper price anyway. So I may be lucky and be able to do the same again.
I do hope that price on the previously mentioned site is wrong. It probably is as it will allow consumers to place pre-orders at that price, but if the final price is lower then the website will reduce the amount so the customers that pre-ordered will actually pay less. However, if they set the price for pre-orders at say £20 but the game costs £25, then they will have to honour the lower price or there’ll be uproar on the interweb. I think they’re just playing safe and trying to get some pre-orders in so they know how much stock to pre-order themselves from their supplier.

Who’s betting the price in the US will be half this?
Comment by Youlikeyams — Jan 7, 2008 @ 6:28 pm
@all - GT: prologue, the online version is 20 quid, and the disc version is 25 quid.

looking forward to more motorstorm tracks

top news! MS if by far my favourite game on the PS3 and 2 new tracks for £3.50 is a bargain!
Why are people talking about GT5 on this thread? No interest in that whatsoever
The US price may well be half the price when it come out but blame world economics for that and not Sony! price is relative to cost of living…..
