Capcom’s PlayStation 3 port of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will hit stores on February 26, according to a recent post on Shacknews; which, going by the UK release pattern (games released on Fridays), probably means it will be available in the UK on February 29.
Capcom have also released some new screenshots - available here.
watched this on gamer.tv over the weekend, looks like a passable FPS. nice to see the PS3 version is getting all the ex360’s downloadable stuff that they had to pay for.

YAY ¬_¬ a port of an Okish 360 game. Not exactly garlic bread is it.

Average game in my opinion. Its not an fps though, its all 3rd person

I really am suprised Capcom even bothered to convert this… it got very average reviews, and now, what, a year later, it’s going to look average too.

Yeah, this is nice that the PS3 is getting a warmed-over, year-old port. At least the multiplayer was great, per the reviews…
…and why haven’t we heard anything from here or the US blog on the NPD data for December? Last month, there were posts all over the place…now, not so much.

@ Matt:
That’s because the PS3 sales are half that of the X360 and below half of that of Wii.

Before I got my Ps3 I was an Avid 360 player, and with RSV, Lost Planet was one of my top 5 favourate games. (and when I sold, I had 116 in total)
Single player isnt majorly long or challenging, but its great fun through and through.
And multiplayer is a blast, a real sense of variety from one mode to the next.
In England it will release on February the 29th and cost £24.99.
IT will feature the same content that is currently playable on the 360 (including downloads)
IMHO for £24.99 this is set to be a Great release for the PS3. and the polished up graphics should still boad well among the 08 releases.

Hmmm. I’ll probably buy this ho-hum port for the right price. Any idea how much it’s gonna cost us yanks?

Looks like crap compaired to the 360!

Those screenshots are pretty underwhelming. Also, if there is one genre that isn’t particularly lacking on PS3 it’d be FPS.
I don’t think this will make a big splash

This is a determinably old-school shooter. It’s linear and fun. Not every game needs to be ground-breaking, just as not every game needs to be an exclusive.
It’s not Haze though.
I want Haze.

It wont be lighting my fire, there iwll be a lot of awesome new games coming this way come end of february. If their going to port 360 games at least give us a decent one like BioShock.

It’s peeps like carl that bring a tear of laughter to my eye, for I am the laughing man ^-^.
Listen m8 it looks exactly the same as the PS3 version, stop being a childish fan of an underwelming console.
Cram it with walnuts ugly!

Whilst techincally not an FPS, due to it’s third person view, you could toy with the camera to give a kind of faux 1st person view, so in that regard in did work as an FPS.
Seems weird to port this now, but it’s not too shabby a game really.

Yawn! Another FPS and a one with terrible graphics at that.
Sorry if I sound totally underwhelmed, it’s because I am.
Comment by Ton Capone — Jan 22, 2008 @ 2:08 pm
@ E-ROLE:
It may be “underwhelming” but it and the Revolution are overwhelming the PS3 in terms of sales, despite the yet to be seen if it can be repeated ’sales surge’ in Dec 07 for the latter.
Over & Out.

I will be saving the money for Devil May Cry4 on February 8th OMG!!!!!!its nearly here!!!!!
I despise Lost Planet. I completely DESPISE it based on its… gameplay,
story,
voice acting,
characters,
every 10 minute frustrating boss battles, Death animation loops AAAAAAGH
ETC.. LP is an insult to the good name of CAPCOM and the gamers intelligence.(play it , you will see what I mean)
……I picked it out of a bargain bin last year for the other console and have never regretted buying a game so much in my life. I hate Lost Planet!
DEVIL MAY CRY 4 in 16 days!!!!! Save your money !
