Eurogamer have received word that a demo of Capcom’s highly anticipated Devil May Cry 4 will be hitting the PlayStation Network as soon as January 31. Capcom Europe couldn’t confirm this; however the title is due for release on February 8, so it can’t be that far away. Stay tuned for more information as soon as we get it.

Haha, yes! Those Blu-ray games and movies are so worthless without timely PSN releases!

Here the same. I’m fed up with the fact that Sony is treating us Europeans as second class citizens. Not only do we pay allot more than our american friends (sometimes I have the feeling that we sponser them and they are still complaining about high prices) but we always need to begg for some decent content.
I do’nt buy into the localisation argument because that never seems the problem with big titles. And you can’t convince me that a game like high velocity bowling needs allot of translation.

i’d almost forgotten it was store update day it’s been that great lately.
not as bad as the PSP PC store though, i think that’s only ever been updated once, though i could have been dreaming.

It wasn’t until recently that I started helping a friend in keeping a Sony gaming blog updated. Around that same time I started to realize the differences between the PS Store updates. On weeks here in the US when we had weak offerings that Europe truly got the shaft.
You would think with the recent influx of European game developers cranking out top tier titles that European consumers would garner some of the respect their developers are enjoying.
I don’t know the numbers, but I can’t imagine game sales are that different from Europe to North America. Especially with the big 1st party & 3rd party games. Why wouldn’t games, and subsequently the demo for said game, be released simultaneously the world over? Create your buzz across your entire player base at the same time and then take over the world when your fan base all rush out to purchase your game.
North America deals with this to a certain extent, but not on the same level. Crisis Core comes to mind, being released in North America about 6 months after it was released in Japan. DualShock3? Unfortunately Europe may have to wait even longer.

Why doesnt the Euro PSN ever get any better????? Another rubbish update What is the problem about getting the PS1 games up that have been PEGI rated???? and all the missing PSN games such as everyday shooter???? Do they need to take on extra staff ????
Why dont Sony Europe want any of my money?????????? It has been ages since i bought Kula World…
It is just the euro PSN that is letting us down now, love the ps3 games and bluray films just please sort out Europe PSN Sony

I was getting excited thinking that post titles weren’t going to be yelling at me (in caps) for my feed anymore, but this makes 5 in a row
(Note to authors: CSS will cap the title in the site so don’t when authoring your posts)

I sadi thanks to TS on the Singstar thread however it seems clear this site (the PR people hired by Sony) are getting all their press releases from Eurogamer.
Not being able to get an answer on the poor service by your clients is one thing. Not getting a press release from them demonstrates how much they care about this “semi-official” site.
I think this site just became obsolete.

“COMING SOON”, a phrase used far too often on the EU PSN:
PAIN… COMING SOON!
Everyday Shooter… COMING SOON!
High Velocity Bowling… COMING SOON!
BF: Advanced Research… COMING SOON!
DMC4 Demo… COMING SOON!
My guess is the US will see it before the end of the month, and I will have the full game before the demo reaches us…
How many crap updates are SCEE going to bring out before they get the message? At this rate they may as well go to monthly updates, but even then I’m not convinced they could get their finger out and include anything worth downloading.
I’m sure they posted up a list of promised releases on the PSN to hit before Xmas, but I can’t find it now. They’ve probably deleted it in embarrassment, because I’d be surprised if SCEE managed to deliver half that list…
Comment by Apnomis — Jan 17, 2008 @ 9:00 pm
I too am dissillusioned by both the PSN store and this site. As Shrul said, the info you get from TS is pulled from other places and late, so what is the point.
As for the store, I have completely given up on it. I haven’t been on there for two weeks as forums I read allsay what utter shite is on there (or not!)
Comment by Timbo — Jan 17, 2008 @ 9:10 pm
Apologies for the typos in my first post, was using my cellphone.
Anyway, thank God for the US store. At least there’s something (hopefully) worthwhile there in the form of the Turok demo.
As for the rest, SCEE can suck it. As soon as possible, I’m going to lay my hands on some US Playstation cards so I can get some decent content for a change.

Well I was very happy with todays update, some nice demos and a few nice videos. I think some of you really need some patience. In the software industry 90% of the time projects are late (and overbudget). It’s just a fact of life. And it really makes no difference to me if I get to play a game a few weeks, or even a couple of months later than it was originally meant to be released. There are other things in life beside the PS3.
Comment by John — Jan 18, 2008 @ 8:16 am
i just want them to hurry up with PSN Card/Voucher Top-up things then everyone can get everything and be happy.
Comment by d33p — Jan 18, 2008 @ 9:06 am
@16
Their only late and over budget if their poorly managed.

With regards to the the PSN, patience is one thing john but lack of information is what is upsetting most people. Even moreso information that is later proven to be false i.e. promises of games that people want and for them to then not deliver.
I’ll have a look later when I get time but there was a list published last July / August promising what was due before the end of 2007. It would be interesting to see what was delivered.
I dont know what Sony is playing at. The PSN should be a central nerve to them as it is the best medium for them to generate sales and promote their other products. The fact their not using it is like a racing driver not using the top two gears. I doubt very much its to do with resources, and if their PR team isn’t motivated - send them on a course or start printing P45’s.

“We’ve been on to SCEUK to try and get some idea of what’s going on with PSN updates, and when the content should start to flow more freely. We can’t promise when exactly, but they assure us they will get back to us with a roadmap of sorts of how the PSN will develop. ”
Where is this roadmap, it never arrived…
Comment by Terry — Jan 18, 2008 @ 10:05 am
I gave up on the EU PSN store months ago, we are still months behind in content and updates and the communication coming out our SCEE is as always terrible.
Which is strange considering that PS3 has a larger market share in Europe than in the US.
I really don’t see anything improving to be honest.
Comment by Alisdair Comb — Jan 18, 2008 @ 10:59 am
All this moaning is a bit of a yawn, so I’m going to moan about it. In my day we didn’t have virtual stores. Heck, we didn’t even have polygons. We had a sluggish 2D sprite who filled half the screen, one life, no energy bar, and only one button on the joystick. You scamps have it easy!
Comment by rooee — Jan 18, 2008 @ 11:05 am
With demos I understand that a game might be coming out later in Europe, so it would make more sense for the demo to be released accordingly. What I don’t understand is why Sony is sitting on a fat pile of content to be paid for. There’s so much demand for Everyday Shooter, Pain etc, and yet Sony isn’t giving us either the chance to buy this stuff off them or a reasonable explanation to why they aren’t putting them on the store.
