We reported a while back that Call Of Duty 4, Motorstorm and Resistance had all sold over two million copies on the PS3. There is now a fourth title to reach that very impressive sales figure - Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed.
The information comes direct from VG Chartz. You can also view the complete list of PS3 game sales.

When I can get this back off my son - i’ll play it - hopefully…..! Good news though.

Good game, even though not as good has i had hoped.
A bit off topic but playstation.blog is running a graphic designers dream competion. KIK ASS, finaly a place for my super human powers to be used for good.

I found assasins creed a bit boring. The controls are unnecessarily awkward and the constant side-quests leading up to the assasinations are just balls.
Fair play to it for selling so well but it’s not to my taste

Where’s the ending?

Proof if proof were needed that videogames truly are rivalling Hollywood… The masses flock blindly to something enormously expensive to make and glaringly mediocre. It’s uncanny!

@ 2 : The WarHawk competition is only for US residents.
Give me an Ass and another Ass and then some In, what have you got… Oh no that didn’t come out right. Ah forget it, Congratulations Creedy!

poor Ratchet!! what an overlooked title
Comment by Paul — Jan 31, 2008 @ 4:45 pm
I agree Ratchet deserves better than ¾ of a million sold units. I think it’s mainly seen as a kids game hence the slow uptake so far.
Keeping in mind that the PS3 is only just coming up to it’s first year in the UK and it’s price point, it is to be expected that most of the people buying a PS3 at the moment are probably in the 18-35 ( Contiki ) age range, as they hey are the first level of disposable incomes. Thus most of the hardcore games are the ones that are selling better ( PSN games not included as you need a PS3 before you can enjoy those ). I think that by Christmas 2008 more parents will be willing to pay for a PS3 for their kids and also the wider adoption of HDTV and the growing Blu-Ray market ( barring any more surprises ). Therefore taking into consideration all these factors, there will be a bigger market for Ratchet and games of a similar ilk and it will easily surpass the 2million mark from there.
That’s my Pratcher prediction. So there.

Absolutely dumbfounded that this sold so many copies, I must admit I even bought it but I soon regretted it. I was bored with it about 3 assassinations in and cannot even bring myself to play it throught to the finish.
The hype was too much, this game brought nothing new to the table, so well done Ubisoft for duping the masses.
Fooled once, shame on you. Fooled twice shame on me. You won’t catch me out again you toerags.

Wasn’t Motorstorm and Resistance bundled as standard with pretty much every PS3 sold in its first year? That’d be like saying “Demo1 title hits its 44 millionth sale!”.. when it was a standard PS2 bundle.
Assassin’s Creed is a good game (could have been brilliant) and I’m glad it’s selling well. Here’s hoping that more people buy Ratchet&Clank and Uncharted.
Will we ever see sales figures for PSN games? We can guess some (like Super Stardust and Warhawk) by looking at their player rankings pages and go to the last entry, but I’d like to know how many people bought games like Tekken DR, Blast Factor, Everyday shooter (in the US at least), PS1 classics, etc…

Fewer ‘good’ games on a console = more sales of these perceived ‘good’ games on a console.
Over & Out.

Assassins had great potential which wasnt fully realised and the ending, well, the ending just sucked. Motorstorm & Resistance were bundled, thats like saying Oxygen was the people favourite breathable gas of 2007. Hopefully this year there will be some kick ass games.

What’s the point of posting vgcharts figures? Vgcharts should only be looked at as an estimated guess, NOT solid evidence.
