One of our readers has got in touch with a very inventive and interesting take on user created content. Chris (TheMethod) was sitting one day thinking about how Resistance allows in-game screenshots to be taken and after a bit of head-scratching an idea was born. Chris mobilised 40 soldiers and organised a series of photo shoots. Despite technical issues and a lovely chap going by the name of “Italian Crackhead” blowing everybody to bits due to not understanding English (look to the right in the first shot below), everything fell into place and the shots worked.
The first he called ‘The Class of 2007′.
They followed this with “The Big 40” marathon, a foot race around a predefined course in a map. And also “The Wedding”, a military style wedding photo with an arch of green dragon flamethrowers in place of swords.
The whole event was rounded off with all involved making their homage to the Burning Man festival.

As one of the 40 who actually took part I can confirm this was the most online fun I have had with the PS3 since I bought it.
It was so wrong I had tears streaming down my face, Epoch just started tossing fuel grenades and 40 of us gathered for a photo shoot were suddenly being butchered !!
Well all hell broke loose then and it was mental ! Online comms were a bit tasty to say the least !
As you might imagine it took a while to regain control and TheMethod deserves all the praise for his efforts.

reminds me of an quake 1 session, I planned to show a bunch of people a rocket jump, only I forgot to health up first and threw my dead carcass across the area they were all standing in - truly, embarrasingly hilarious

@7 The damage was on 10% so it would take a good few hits.
@9 Yes, it was photoshoped.

i was one of the 40 who took part as well and it was an amazing online event
i had taken a screenshot where i was aiming a sniper right at epochs head

Nah don’t worry I will never go over to the RRoD xbox, I actually like being able to play my console rather than have it in the repair shop
Games like Warhawk, COD4 and RFOM are not what I would normally call hilarious, this night with the photoshoot most definitely was.

Now I have to admit, at the start of the release of the PS3 I was very disappointed, but now with games like Warhawk, CoD4:MW, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank in my games selection, I couldn’t be happier
The 360 can keep its games, the Playstation 3 is in no need of help, and I think you’ll find that in 2008, you’ll KNOW you bought the right console. :gr8:

“I couldn’t be happier” - I’m betting you could but it means ditching your PS3 and getting an X360.
“Nah don’t worry” I’m not. Unlike others, I’m not having to justify an expensive £425 purchase with a few on-line games that melt in contrast with what’s going on elsewhere.
I cannot speak from experience but from what I’ve read over the past months about the on-line ‘experiences’ of others (both PS3 and X360 owners), and without a contrast with the latter, the Sony PSN is in bad need of updating and having something like Home stuck on top of it. You only need to read the other blogs on here to appreciate that.
But if you think what you’ve been given is enough, well then…

OH, MAN, THAT IS HILARIOUS!!! WOW, THE DUDE BLOWIN’ AWAY EVERYONE ON THE STEPS.
MAN, MAD PROPS TO ALL OF YOU WHO PARTICIPATED. IT MAKES ME WANT TO PLAY RESISTANCE AGAIN. I PLAYED UNTIL WARHAWK CAME OUT BUT I ENJOYED RESISTANCE SO MUCH AND WOULDN’T MIND PLAYIN’ IF THERE ARE STILL PEOPLE ON LINE.
