We had a small taster of Paradise City last week with the Burnout Paradise demo, but what we didn’t know is exactly how massive and extensive the full city actually is. Criterion released the full map yesterday - check it out for yourselves above. Last week’s demo contains just the top right corner, on the top right-hand side of the river.

Wow! That’s big! BIgger than GTA?
And komp i agree, its fun with PS Eye! Everybody gives you the finger!
Comment by Mjolkchoklad — Dec 21, 2007 @ 2:10 pm
GTA 3 was twice as big, so it’s not even close as big but for a burnout game it’s big. If you time how long it takes on the demo to get to A to B you can roughly make out how big it is in game and its about half of Liberty City

May not be the biggest map ever but it looks very varied. So many different types of things to do and no in game loading - I can’t wait!
Comment by Dougal — Dec 21, 2007 @ 2:50 pm
You could see this map in the demo

Loved the demo for this, can’t wait to get it!
Feature I would love on the back of the demo? Being able to mute those whose mic is permanently on giving us a muffled insight from their mums on how much homework they haven’t done!

Really big really

Really big, but not as big as my dissapointment in this title.
It doesn’t even feel like Burnout anymore. It’s a mutilates corspe.

slightly off topic, but does anyone else get kicked A LOT or a dropped connection on the multiplayer on the demo? takes me ages to find a game that even shows the other players.
Comment by Photek — Dec 21, 2007 @ 9:34 pm
I agree with 5. Nice release…

Yeah, like someone said, you can see the map in the demo.
I liked the demo, but it gets boring quick, just crashing into other players. I think maybe you can do races and stuff also, but nobody was ever interested in doing that I guess…

Honestly, this map looked a lot bigger in-game, especially when you zoomed out…Because that shot looks like about the size of Los Santos.
Comment by Paulmichael — Dec 23, 2007 @ 12:39 am
@photek i find it locks up my console in online mode, today was a record 9seconds!!! offline it’s pefectly fine though.

I like the look of those long gentle swoopy roads on the left. In fact, I love the look of the whole thing. I can’t wait for this to come out.
Comment by LordOfRuin — Dec 24, 2007 @ 11:41 am
played the demo….loved it! the only thing i hope it’s not like is old NFS games where you have to go on 25 minute drives to get to a race. hopefully too once it comes out online play won’t be “let’s chase eachother around and crash, respawn, and do it all again” that’s getting a bit old. but do love the look and the feel of the game. there’s quite a bit to explore even in our little corner of the demo

I exit the game a third of the time due to locking up. Poor. And yeah I also get nerked at the other active mics. Always getting kicked from the connection, but am wondering if this has something to do with the PSN recently. The PSN has been acting very oddly, has anyone else thought that? Worrying as PS3 sales begin to recover their composure. But liking the potential of this must have game. Well, must have for me. This and GT have it pretty sewn up for racing.
Comment by LordOfRuin — Dec 29, 2007 @ 7:52 pm
And while I’m whining, why does it have a matrix feel green tinge to everything? Mmm! Plus, I did a cool jump, but landed on a wall. No problem, except I couldn’t reset myself or rock it off, or shit. So I had to exit the game. What the fuck? (Yeah I know, sorry for the fuck)
Comment by LordOfRuin — Jan 3, 2008 @ 6:24 pm
Online mode always loses connection after at least 20 minutes or if I’m lucky I can play for an hour at the most. This happens with MSN and Xbox live too :S
