There’s a nice comp running over at www.unchartedps3.com; a Google Maps-powered Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (ARG) alternative reality game. Track down Nathan Drake first and the prize is two return flights to Cancun, seven nights all-in accommodation in a four star hotel and two activities - GPS scavenger hunt and snorkel, and a submarine trip. Ten runners up bag a 26″ TV. The comp runs until the end of January.
Ah yeah, and if you’re a bit handy at this treasure hunting caper, best not to post your solutions to the tasks on here, as you’ll only have a slew of other contestants stealing a march on you!

JohnSketch wants to win!

Comment by reakt — Dec 5, 2007 @ 1:07 am
Is this open to only european residents?
Comment by moses — Dec 5, 2007 @ 5:39 am
@ Moses - In the small print it says the following: ‘This Promotion is open to residents of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom’. Hope that answers.
Comment by Three Speech — Dec 5, 2007 @ 9:57 am
Dam why cant New Zealand enter. Sony NZ are a bunch of lazy f***tards and dont run any competions.
Comment by Carl — Dec 5, 2007 @ 10:50 am
Also where is that statement from Sony about why the PSN store sucks that was promised 9 months ago?
Comment by Carl — Dec 5, 2007 @ 11:41 am
Ok, Iv done them all and iv found the last location with tho co-ordinates, but it just points directly to a dock! The little location arrow doesnt even come up!
Anyone else had this problemo?
Comment by Rob Foyster — Dec 5, 2007 @ 1:15 pm
Change that, just finished it. Im 6th in Europe, although according to the standings, only 7 people in europe have completed it!
Comment by Rob Foyster — Dec 5, 2007 @ 1:26 pm
Yeah, was a fun trail and I found him in XXXXXXXXX
Oh well, looks like you’ll have to work the clues out for yourself but was good fun.
Just waiting for the game now.

I’m stuck at calais, i can only see the wood leg and drake’s message, no coin(mentioned in th message) or anything else is it a bug or what?
Comment by Carlo — Dec 5, 2007 @ 2:29 pm
how do i use the testube and sponge??
Comment by Squizzle — Dec 5, 2007 @ 4:56 pm
@Carlo,
You need to think what you are doing. No point in asking for help, because why would people help if it means less chance of them winning a holiday or TV.
Have fun with it.
Comment by Capeview — Dec 5, 2007 @ 5:11 pm
@Capeview
yeah i know but just to be sure it was not a bug
Comment by Carlo — Dec 5, 2007 @ 6:11 pm
I’m at location number 11. Whats the point here? First time I started it, this was working differently. Weird….
Comment by Shiver — Dec 5, 2007 @ 7:38 pm
I´m stuck in the location number 6… i have done the correspondation between all the colors, but nothing happened next… what shall i do?
Comment by Hardgamer — Dec 5, 2007 @ 7:45 pm

Comment by Silent — Dec 5, 2007 @ 7:57 pm
I’m feeling dense and cannot for the life of me work out what to do with the lock thing at Montego Bay. There seems no logic as to what I click and what hapens on-screen. I get that the single buttons seems to reset the lock, but the double buttons don’t seem to do owt.
GAH!
Comment by Kevling — Dec 5, 2007 @ 10:01 pm
Gah! i can’t figure out what to do at the plaque at Dunluce. No clues, no nada. And i’m american so it doesn’t even matter to me! i just want to finish =[
Comment by Parisi — Dec 5, 2007 @ 10:35 pm
Ignore me, my browser was playing silly beggars. The buttons all work now, but still can’t do it!
Are we supposed to get the red bits to pass the line at the same time, or get them all to the top?
Comment by Kevling — Dec 5, 2007 @ 11:04 pm
kevling can you help me with the plaque at dunluce? im just playing for fun
Comment by Parisi — Dec 5, 2007 @ 11:05 pm
I’m at D______ C_____
Nothing I do seems to do anything to the plaque, i’ve tried all the items in various combinations.
i’m on a mac and have experienced a few problems before - not asking for the solution, just wondering it’s meant to be like that or not?
Comment by F. Edmilson — Dec 6, 2007 @ 12:54 am
i’m stuck at dunluce castle, can someone give me hint

Same stuck at dunluce
Comment by Parisi — Dec 6, 2007 @ 1:56 am
Keep trying combinations. But the locks at 11 are illogical.
Comment by Shiver — Dec 6, 2007 @ 10:21 am
I found some of the puzzles awkward at first, but just reading and then really reading what you read sure does make a difference.
And looking, and I mean really looking makes a big difference on some puzzles too.
That is all I am going to say, if you can’t do the puzzles, then you don’t deserve my Holiday.
Comment by Capeview — Dec 6, 2007 @ 11:38 am

Comment by James — Dec 6, 2007 @ 4:51 pm
Hi. I’m really dissapointed about that not all countries (even not all which have their own PS Store - vide Poland) having a chance to win those prizes. Sony - that’s not fair!
Comment by tom — Dec 7, 2007 @ 8:59 am
I think there MUST be something wrong with the competition….NO MATTER how many times i complete it, the timer NEVER STOPS!!,it’s not as if i’m not doing it quick enough(by my standards)I have ALL parchment pieces and have seen the end of the game numerous times, but i am unable to make a dent on the leaderboards even tho’ there is only 9 names there and there’s space for 10!! anyone advise…??
Comment by BlueRaven — Dec 7, 2007 @ 5:57 pm
sorry…. 11 place disks(there is space for one more tho’)ALL parchment pieces(no more spaces to fill )and ALL inventory items…and i’m not sure whether to post my time on here…

Drake, you know how to beat Dunluce?
Comment by Parisi — Dec 11, 2007 @ 11:26 pm
You have use the chemical stuff to wipe off the plaque. The amount for each chemical is at the bottom of journal that you get there.
Comment by Drake — Dec 12, 2007 @ 12:56 am
i dont see the instructions. What are the levels you used?

Comment by Nathan — Dec 12, 2007 @ 9:26 pm
The locks (no. 11) are just impossible. Any hints at all? Not looking for the solution, but some form of hint would be nice. Cant see any hints in the “game” competition at all.
Comment by Zoidy — Dec 14, 2007 @ 7:56 am
look at the white lines on the lock there a hint
Comment by James — Dec 14, 2007 @ 4:00 pm
I am so stuck on 11. I just can’t make head nor tail of what co-ordinates to look for. Any hints? I’ve put all the pieces in place and have tried loads of combinations in google but cant figure it out. I don’t even intend to register to win, just wanted to try my hand at playing it.

I need help in genova..anyone?
Comment by Mikele — Dec 14, 2007 @ 11:36 pm
The Montego Bay lock thingy really sucks. I’ve tried making the weights hit the white line all the same time: didn’t work. I made them hit the white line with the yellow part… still didn’t work.
Anyone can give me a hint (not the solution)? I know I’m doing something wrong, just can’t figure out what.
Comment by LiquidICE — Dec 16, 2007 @ 8:02 am
LiquidCE - I think theres a certain order you have to hit them with. It changes each time, but just mess about with locking them in different orders and you should hit the right one, I think.
Comment by Moomin — Dec 16, 2007 @ 4:34 pm

OK I’ve done that part now! Hint to others, you will find the next place to go on the paper with ship ports inside the boat in Genoa. Read everything very carefully…
