We are happy to announce that SingStar for the PlayStation 3 will launch in the UK on December 7th.
There’s also an accompanying MySpace site at www.myspace.com/singstarvip that runs in conjunction with SingStar Studios at London’s O2 Arena.
Hit the MySpace link for more information.

Woohoo!!!

Great - now i can humiliate myself publicly with zero tone recognition and a voice box that could shatter glass!

Nice one - let the drunken christmas karaoke begin!

Where did the dates/time information image go? :-/
Comment by JohnSketch — Nov 8, 2007 @ 3:20 pm
No bluetooth mics? But really, I’m glad they waited to release this rather than rush it out with not many songs on the singstore. (I presume it was delayed for licencing issues) Hope the vocal removal feature actually works :S, I’ve seen similar systems before and they haven’t really worked that well.

That’s very good news! Personally I’m not a fan but my girlfriend will love it! Of course it will also do wonders for the Christmas sales of Playstation.

I hope the version I bought works online..
Already had the game for like more than a month!

[...] Men ja!!! Threespeech släppte precis det officiella releasedatumet för SingStar till PS3, och det rör sig om goda nyheter den här gången. [...]

At long last, this game just kept getting pushed back and Amazon lovingly sent me an email every single time.
Comment by Cei — Nov 8, 2007 @ 3:25 pm
Oh dear. My plans of spending the christmas break playing Uncharted, Assassin’s Creed or hopefully Orange Box may have just disappeared.
Good news though, let’s hope there is some serious TV advertising to spread the word.

good news, like to check out the O2 thing as well.

BOLLOX!
From 7th december I will lose my PS3 to my daughter and missus, I’ll have to get a 40gig one for her bedroom. Gonna be an expensive xmas.
I could always join in with the singing though…..that’ll put em off singstar!!!!
Comment by Dan (BBRodriguez) — Nov 8, 2007 @ 3:36 pm
Just wondering: Will there be a Christmas pack available later that month?
Comment by GleeDemon — Nov 8, 2007 @ 3:59 pm
So why does IGN and sony official blog say February 2008, now ?
Comment by Jenny — Nov 8, 2007 @ 4:05 pm
Very close to Xmas, and I fear many people would have decided their console choice LONG before December 7th.
Sony should start sing(staring) this from the rooftops NOW..
Comment by Mark — Nov 8, 2007 @ 4:10 pm
Can they fix the horrible cover art first? Seriously, that hand thats coming from the front man looks so freakishly deformed. Don’t even get me started on how goofy the guy on the front looks. Poor kid.

Damn - i just bought Singstar Anthems and Rock Ballads as i got bored of waiting!!!
Will have to get this for sure now though. It’s a shame you can’t transfer the tracks from the PS2 version onto the PS3 HD so they are accessible from the new Singstar - perhaps one day!
Comment by James — Nov 8, 2007 @ 4:33 pm
What about the wireless mic´s ? Are they also going to be released in December?
Thats priority one reason for me to buy nextgen singstar or not!

Yay! Does anyone know the cost of songs yet & how many previously unreleased ones there will be on singstore?
Comment by Brendan — Nov 8, 2007 @ 5:51 pm
Great news, is there an official press release with cost of downloadable songs , any info about if you own PS2 discs regarding being able to download these tracks for a reduced cost and anything on the bluetooth mics?
Its gonna be a Singstar Christmas!
Comment by appmacguy — Nov 8, 2007 @ 5:58 pm
I read elsewhere that you CANNOT use your PS2 discs with PS3 singstar. It was somewhere official. Google is friend. I’m too lazy to find the source.

So um anyone know if I import this, if I could buy from the store in us dollars without having to convert? im guessing so, but dont want to go importing it if that will cause any difficulties, or should I just wait? hmm gf really really wants this…

“unless you have euro credit card or some way of adding money to a euro user account I would hold off.”
and then I see this in another post, guess my questions answered….

its too late to make a real impact, because not a lot of consumers spend their time on web sites like threespeech.
they will be out shopping on the 7th december or beyond and see it in store (expect very little advertising on tv). but by that time, they wil already have their partners/childs games wishlist for xmas, and wont dare alter it.
im guessing sixty quid on the highstreet too. a little steep coming up for xmas.
but what do i care, i chose to refuse to buy it when it was pushed back in august without any notification. little so and sos…

This is the best news ever. Well, releasing it back in March when first stated would have been better, but this is awesome.
Thank f*ck it make 07

@19. The official RRP with mics is £44.99 and without mics £24.99. This is the most I’d expect to pay on the highstreet. Your comment of £60 is way out i think.
A better deal can be had online as we all know.

[...] Ha costado, pero el nuevo SingStar de PlayStation 3 por fin tiene fecha oficial. Preparad vuestros micrófonos e id aclarando la voz porque a partir del 7 de diciembre podréis emular a vuestros Ãdolos musicales. this is great news, I love singstar at christmas time. However as I have 6 of the singstar discs for ps2 and a backward compatible ps3, I’ll only purchase this on release date if it recognises my old discs, or lets me download my faves. I don’t want to buy all those tracks again…
what’s the score with this scee?
Comment by Tom F — Nov 9, 2007 @ 12:16 pm
I’ll be getting it on it’s own as i hear the mics havn’t been redisgned at all but still looking forward to it, but not spending a fortune on the singstore!!!
Comment by bmaindj — Nov 9, 2007 @ 1:24 pm
Is there any news on the possible release of the Bluetooth Mics? As i have been spoiled with the Bluetooth controller, i would prefer not to go back to wires
Hope that they will be available soon!
