Lack of Uncharted demo doesn’t matter as got it from US store tee hee…
Gutted the Eye Toy doesn’t seem to work with any of the PS eye stuff, anyone know better?

Thought the Haze demo might be up today, so a bit disappointed about that. Got the Stranglehold demo off the US store so long ago, I can’t believe its only coming on the UK one today!

Those Uncharted vids have been quite good, and I’ll grab that Strnaglehold demo as I still haven’t bothered with a US account. Not that the missus will let anything get in the way of Ratchet & Clank at the moment…

Not very good tbh. According to the list that was posted before there is still loads of stuff due out in November, so the next few weeks should be a lot better.

Comment by sarge mat — Nov 15, 2007 @ 5:14 pm
This is the full list of unreleased PSN games and PS1 games that were scheduled for november
Coolboarders
G-Police
Destruction Derby
Colony Wars
Motor Toon Grand Prix 2
Syphon Filter 2
Bust-A-Groove
Crash Bandicoot 2
Crash Bandicoot 3
Blast Factor: Advanced Research
Toy Home game
Snakeball game
There are 2 remaining thursdays in November. That means that an average of 6 games will be released on each of those thursdays? about 4 ps1 games will be released each week, plus 1 PSn game - and on one week there will be TWO PSN games? I don’t believe that for a second. You must think we’re stupid sony.
Comment by Russ — Nov 15, 2007 @ 5:18 pm
Truly awful.
Yet more pointless videos of someone else playing games.
A demo that should have been released aeons ago.
Sony why must you insult us aswell as rob us, what have we ever done to you? except support this floundering debacle of a console.
Please sort it out soon, even I am losing the will to complain to you.
Comment by Ton Capone — Nov 15, 2007 @ 5:24 pm
I don’t bother with the PSN anymore it’s pointless anyway. I just do what I did consoles past: buy the retail disc based games and then chase other life pursuits. PSN? Meh!
Comment by wasabinator — Nov 15, 2007 @ 5:37 pm
Utter shite. Surely Sony is taking the piss. They have thousands of PS1 and PS2 games they could be adding to the store. Even some themes would be good. How about the DJ Shadow remix of the Uncharted track? Put that up as a downloadable MP3.

instead of waiting for ps1 games on the PSN why not take a wonder down to your local games emporium. you can get old, sorry, ‘classic’ games for peanuts! for the most part there are very few PS1 games that don’t look/play awful.

Well, if we don’t complain Sony might think we’re not bothered.
BUT MOST OF US ARE.
I’ve heard of people refusing to make an account for another store because they are afraid to get banned somehow. Personally I have access to he dutch, us, & jap stores.
This however is NOT a reason not to complain.
How can it be that straglehold took that long to appear over here. WTF is that all about? Localization my ass. Pherhaps it’s the regional games law. I don’t know. But SONY, please explain what & why.
What I REALLY don’t understand is where the demo of GT5 Prologue is.
This is still region locking if you ask me.
I have a solution for you sony: Just delay the US & JAP releases of demo’s & games until we Europeans can have ours as well.
That sounds horrible for US customers? That’s how we get treated week after week.
Comment by P5ycH0 — Nov 15, 2007 @ 6:43 pm
One quick thing - why is the Uncharted demo not out here when the US demo is fully localised?

It must be quite soul destroying for the ThreeSpeech crew, after all they are only the messengers, yes they have Sony’s ear, but does Sony listen to them?
All they do is report the ‘news’ and get flamed for it, yes it’s another rubbish update, but why do people feel it’s fault of ThreeSpeech?
Now I’m not defending the update, but I am defending ThreeSpeech as an outlet, a number of articles on this site have been interesting (Well to me anyway) I think the badmouthing helps no-one.
We are frustrated, and annoyed, but we really need to complain to Sony themselves.
I will just add for the benefit of the rest, don’t download that ‘advert’ thinking it’s that rather cool one from America (the one that was on the playstation.blog) it’s not that one it’s some cruddy circus based euro-trash ad
Comment by Demibeard — Nov 15, 2007 @ 9:12 pm
@ Demibeard.
Arse wipe!
Only joking mate, I totally agree with your sentiments.
Sony’s communication is crap and it seems threespeech get it in the neck. They are after all only semi-official.
BTW threespeech, any news of the where-abouts of the PS3 eye? I don’t know if I mentioned it but it was reported by you to be released on the 7th of November. Was that November 7th 2007?
Cheers, love and kisses.

Got to agree with Russ here. I was excited by the long list of stuff to look forward to this month. I even took it as a sign of change and posted a somewhat optimistic post (ok a little optimistic).
We won’t know until we’re in December if this pans out but so far it ain’t looking good.
I hope (I really do) that Sony prove me and Russ wrong.
Comment by Shrui — Nov 15, 2007 @ 9:42 pm
Yeah i agree, it’s not fair to bash threespeech, after all, they bring us news from Sony that actually makes us happy (sometimes, when Sony feel like divulging information).
I just wish they would sort it out. I thought with XMAS coming they would pull out all the stops to attract mre people to the console, yet they don’t seem to be doing anything.
I have had my PS3 since MAY, and I just feel that we’re letf out. I’m just glad I also own a 360. As to be honest, Microshaft have been getting much more money off me that Sony!
Comment by ownjoouk — Nov 15, 2007 @ 9:43 pm
and about Threespeech being only semi official.
Don’t forget they are a marketing group hired by Sony. If threespeech aren’t talking its becuase Sony aren’t talking.
But I do share the sentiment of pitying them though. When the Drake demo appeared to be locked my actual first thought was the guys in the TS office going “WTF? Yeah, thanks Sony! Make our job even harder! How do we spin this one???”
It must be tough being hired by such a shambolic and PR suicidal client as SCEE.*
* - I of course only use Drake as an example, I know the demo bug/lock was not actually their fault. Of course if we had the UK one AT THE SAME BLIMMIN TIME then who would have noticed?
Comment by Shrui — Nov 15, 2007 @ 9:47 pm
It’s all there for free as a service to you, so stop yer bitching ya pansies. This is what we get for living in Europe, a part of the world often regarded collectively while in reality it is just a bunch of countries each with their own languages and regulations and ostacles because everyone wants to do things their way and nobody can agree on anything. Hence the shaft we always get with movies, games, technology etc. etc.
Comment by kamibo — Nov 15, 2007 @ 9:53 pm
currently i made accounts for
United Kingdom,
Netherland,
United States,
JAPAN,
HONGKONG (yes even more & in English)
Australia
It’s so-nots own fault ,we in 2007 are forced to do this,
and if sony BLOCKS my accounts, they will have a major problem, since its their own software which allows us all to do this..
if they don’t want you to do it,remove the function and give is 1 store worldwide.
instead of the weekly emberassement they call EU_updates.
AGAIN : there is 0.00000000000000000000000 reason UNCHARTED could NOT be released to the EU STORES,
since all the EU-FORCED languages are included in the demo on the US store.
Either the SCEE are a bunch of LAZY SoB’s or they are incapable of doing their jobs and should be fired months ago..
but then again maybe SCE should hire some MS or Nintendiis employees, since they are capable of the things Sony is incapable of……
Comment by Darkie — Nov 15, 2007 @ 9:54 pm
@ Ton Capone:
I really feel for you, mate.
I’ve read some of your other posts here and you are a typical example of how Sony has let their UTTERLY LOYAL fans down this time around.
I used to be a complete PlayStation fan. Wouldn’t even consider buying a Sega, Nintendo or Microsoft console. Defending them in every debate, show I attended and argument I had with friends.
Even when I got given an XBox (when I bought my lovely projector with 92″ display!) for FREE, I ended up giving it to my nieces. Just didn’t want to know.
But look at us now. You’re counting the wasted money on (probably) being an early adopter, while I wonder the wastelands of can’t-bring-myself-to-buy-a-crippled-PS3.
It’s a shame. Sony has abandoned us both. By forcing an extortionate price which now turns out to be a COMPLETE waste of money being an early adopter.
And for screwing up almost EVERY single thing since the (delayed) launch day of the PS3. There are just so many a “debacle” in the PS3 story so far, it’s put someone like me off completely - not just from PS3 but from gaming as a whole.
It’s really hard for me to imagine parting even with £300 for a crippled PS3. I just don’t see the point when things like PSN is lightyears behind what you can do on XBL - and all with the added insult to injury of not having in-game XMB.
And let’s not even get into DualShock3 coming out (late in Europe, of course) and being the controller that SHOULD’VE shipped originally with the PS3 (rather than making everyone fork out another £25 for one) if only Sony had settled that court case.
Does that cover it? Probably not..there’s just too much of a mess here and I don’t want to give myself RSI…
Comment by Zed Zee — Nov 15, 2007 @ 10:32 pm
@Darkie
The reason the Uncharted demo hasn’t gone up in EU is because the game isn’t released over here until 7/12. Demos are a marketing tool, like an advert, and there is no point in having a marketing push when you have nothing to sell. The EU marketing for Uncharted will start a couple of weeks before the game is in the shops, hence the reason the demo will be on the EU store next week.
Comment by uberleet — Nov 16, 2007 @ 12:12 am
“I will just add for the benefit of the rest, don’t download that ‘advert’ thinking it’s that rather cool one from America (the one that was on the playstation.blog) it’s not that one it’s some cruddy circus based euro-trash ad :-(”
*sigh* Oh dear. Yes, it’s an example of how SCE’s waywards branch demonstrates itself to be further off the pulse. They don’t seem to realise that the intern has pulled a fast one this time, by submitting a copy of LAST YEAR’S promotional rundown. Tosh is what that is of the most uninspiring, offensive order. >:(
That’s clearly a SONY ad. It has NO relevance to Playstation, Europe, or the potential customer.
Sure, we fans and owners asked for a TV ad, but given the noise the useful part of SCE’s advert from last week made…Though, I thought we were sufficiently clear about what we’d asked to be able to download - the one that isn’t utterly FUBAR - there’s a clue! SCEE really just wanted to TAKE THE PISS this time didn’t they? I have (before today) never seen that atrocity, and after my first glimpse I NEVER WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN.
The presented sort of rot does the whole platform a gross disservice. It even hints to the outsider of unnecessary introversy, and lack of clarity. All it informs to any viewer is the creator obviously has such conceit to believe that just because they throw about pointless randomness, under the guise of art (explain to me, someone the connection between a poodle being placed into a rocket capsule, and the playstation brand?) that this somehow will infer ooh-ah factor to the product.
Lesson: It’s a games machine, which plays games, there are other things it does well too, none of them involving twee ringmasters and yes indeed, more poodles.
In slightly more constructive criticism frame: ‘Blu-Ray makes everything beautiful’ (first off, whoever put that forward really doesn’t need a bonus come end December) But where’s your evidence? Prove it! Even if you held my attention, you failed to back up any one of your claims.
Oh, and to conclude, it’s a deeper pity, because I thought you’d actually figured it out, as evidenced by the Nariko ad. Then again, there’s always next season, I suppose.
Ladies and gentlemen, I ask you?
Comment by GleeDemon — Nov 16, 2007 @ 12:35 am

Thanks for the solidarity brother.
I am indeed a very disgruntled early adopter.
I too have now become totally disillusioned with gaming, so much so I don’t how long I can keep fighting the good fight for all the consumers out there.
Nice to know I am not alone though.
Comment by Ton Capone — Nov 16, 2007 @ 12:53 am
This is a crappy PSN update. Were is the Uncharted demo?? and all the other things that the US store has? US store gets 17 new items and we only gets 8?? Sony, I’m planing to boycott PSN store if you don’t fix this issue… and I hope other Europeans do the same.
Comment by Disturbed — Nov 16, 2007 @ 2:35 am
I think some peoples expectations are too high. I bought my machine to play games and watch movies. PSN is a bonus as far as I’m concerned, didnt have it when I had a PS1, or PS2.
Really the only thing Sony need to do is communicate why the updates are as they are, rather than being silent on the matter. Most “adults” when given a reasonable explaination can understand how the world works.
Comment by Besieged — Nov 16, 2007 @ 3:33 am
WHAT THE HELL SONY?????? This update is utter crap. Mean while U.S gets toy home. Although toy home sucks ( it got a 3.4 somehwere) this still proves that sony hate europe.
Comment by euro$$$$$ — Nov 16, 2007 @ 5:46 am
This is just getting tiresome. It’s almost enough to make me go off and spend many a happy hour on my brother’s Wii. Super Mario Galaxy is kickass, mind.
But then even their store is disappointing.
Why have Sony not listened to consumers? Naughty Dog did when people complained about the Uncharted demo, and they’ve been shown the love. Why isn’t Sony listening to us, or even responding? :/
Comment by Youlikeyams — Nov 16, 2007 @ 7:25 am
Hi guys. Just throwing my positivity hat into the ring really here. I don’t find the paucity of new software very surprising. Perhaps I’m not demanding enough, I don’t know. Gone are the halcyon days of, say, the Amiga’s public domain, and all Jeff Minters trippy llamas; development costs, especially for new technologies, are so high now that new releases will surely become fewer and farther between. Does it bother me? Not a jot - CoD4 and R&C:ToD are two of the best games I’ve ever played, and they’ll keep me going for many, many weeks yet. So what if this week’s update sucks? It’s not the end of the world.
Comment by rooee — Nov 16, 2007 @ 9:19 am
@22,
ThreeSpeech, how about putting some search and replace command on the swear works that would be “funkin” awesome…
As for the store, meh. The content has actually increased its just most of it isnt very interesting, theres only so many making of videos you can put up with before they get boring. Aslo I appreciate the new content for motorstorm but i’ve not played the game since the time trial was released, its a dead game now. Demo’s is the name of the game.
Also for those of you who have not downloaded the Stranglehold demo, dont its “crepe”…

Three Speech, please let SCEE know their Euro ads are completely off the mark. The days of the big selling PS2 dominance are over and they no longer have the latitude to make artsy offbeat ads that leave potential consumers bewildered. They need ads that sell consoles. I wonder if they even test their ads on a sample audience as it seems they just rubber stamp any old tosh.
Comment by Matt — Nov 16, 2007 @ 11:30 am
@ Dan - Happy Birthday to the little man. Will get you a date on that soon as but I guess we would have known by now if it was out this weekend. And yes agree on the games and films comparison. Felt kind of proud that the industry is hitting out so hard in the mainstream press - especially to the Guardian readers of this world. Shows how broad the audience and industry as a whole now is.
Comment by Three Speech — Nov 16, 2007 @ 11:44 am
@all the complainers
1) any update is a good thing, Sony have no obligation to provide us with content, especially the free stuff, i am very happy with what i got yesterday, some nice videos, a demo, some motorstorm stuff
2) the list of what was going to come out was clearly marked as provisional and subject to change, anyone complaining about it should read it again
Comment by John — Nov 16, 2007 @ 11:49 am
Thanks TS. Gonna try and convince him he needs Guitar Hero 3 next week (god, the missus is going to leave me!!!).
I haven’t read the Guardian piece yet. They’re not bitchin’ on about the violence in games are they?
I don’t know whats changed as regards the mainstream media’s opinion of computer games but we do appear, in their eyes at least, to have come of age at last (my missus would disagree though)
At last we can be proud of our gaming interests!
